I would suggest asking that question on GameFAQ's community.  Someone should probably have the answer there.

Why do you guys not have a Friday or Saturday night stream?  Just curious.

Personally, considering the primitive nature of 3D graphics at the time, the game would've been better served if they took the approach that Suikoden did for the battle screens.  Use 3D battle fields with 2D sprites.

Lunar 2 is now finished and you can catch the whole thing on youtube.  Thanks for watching!

Not sure what to stream next.  It's either going to be BoF4, WA2, Star Ocean 2 or Trails in the Sky(which I have never played).
I still think you should've done the Brave Labyrinth.  It would've made the latter dungeons go quicker.  Seriously.  Especially when you consider how powerful Jean's Blue Dragon techniques are.  With her strength boosted, she can take out entire armies.

I am definitely looking forward to the Breath of Fire 4 stream.  I passed on most of the Grandia II stream since I am actively playing through the game and it's my first play through.

I am currently playing Wild Arms 2 myself.  I have to say that the 3D battle graphics look positively primitive.  A part of me can't help but consider the visuals the 3D equivalent of the Atari 2600 hundred era's 2D graphics.  They look that bad.  Well, maybe closer to the 8 Bit era, than the Atari era.

As much as I hate to say it, compared to today's game's Wild Arms 2's battle screen graphics look like unwashed anus.  The town and and dungeon maps aren't as bad, though.  I think part of it is because it's mostly from an overhead perspective while the developers were going for something more cinematic for their battle engine.

A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV pre-order exclusive game revealed -- Nova Crystallis

It's a side-scrolling beat-em-up and it kinda came out of nowhere.

Final Fantasy XV unveils 'Wait Mode' combat style -- Gematsu

"Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata revealed a new "Wait Mode" style of battle for the game during an E3 2016 stage presentation.

Wait Mode can be activated via the Options menu. It slows down time after an action to give players time to think and decide their upon their next move within the limits of a decreasing Wait Gauge. While Tabata says this should make the game easier for some users to play, he adds that it will also bring a bit more strategy into the heavily action-based battle system."

The bit about the bonus being through Gamestop has me more than a bit annoyed.  I ordered the game through Square Enix's online store and there's no mention in the article that this bonus game will be made available to those who ordered from Square Enix directly.  Anuses.  They are fucking anuses.

Speaking of which: I Am Setsuna is Digital-Only? That's...kind of a relief, actually. I think I should only get two games this month, and Monster Hunter Generations already has one slot booked up...and there's a Gundam game coming out next week. I don't need anything else standing between me and my sweet, sweet Mobile Suits...
I would've liked to have a physical copy available.  At the very least a limited run would've been appreciated.  In any case, I do intend to purchase this game as it's pushing all my happy buttons.  I might not pre-order it, though, as I think pre-ordering a digital release is very much pointless.
22  Site Related & More / RPGFan: Site / Your Twitch Channel on: June 12, 2016, 01:31:10 PM
I want to thank you guys for setting up the Twitch channel.  I recently started watching your live feeds of your gaming sessions.  The reason I am posting this is that strong feelings of nostalgia were invoked when you started a live feed of your playthrough of  Lunar 2: Eternal Blue.  It got me to finally get off my ass and pull out my own copy for a playthough of my own.  So I offer my thanks.  I have many fond memories of that game.
23  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake (updates in the 1st post) on: June 19, 2015, 03:38:40 AM
I think Midgar looks absolutely spectacular in that trailer.  It actually looks like a metropolis millions of people live and work in.

As for divergences from the source material being discussed, I think it's pretty clear there will be significant changes.  For instance, the original art style was strongly influenced by manga and anime as none of the characters had realistic designs.  All characters had anime eyes and Cloud had spiky hair that can only exist in a cartoon setting.  Based on the announcement trailer, all of the characters have been redesigned to resemble actual people, so that is one major divergence there.  I think that alone could very well have other knock on effects based on the art design alone.

When I learned that the game was being remade, I fucking squeed.  I can't wait to see what they do with this re-imagined title.  The one depressing fact about this remake, is that this thread made me realize how long ago the original came out.  It's been nearly 20 years since the original's release.  I was a teenager when I played it.  By the remakes comes out, my 40's birthday won't be to far along in coming. ;_;

One thing I would hope for is a greater exploration of Jenova and the Ancients.  Considering how pivotal Aerith and her people were, I think the game should explore them further.  Personally, I would actually prefer the story not be a simple rehash of the original game.  The big thing I am concerned about is the voice acting.  Considering this is a remake and will be coming out now, there is no way they'd be able release this game without voice actors playing the principal characters.  That means the story could very well live and die by the quality of the acting and its voice director.  Moreover, considering the amount of money that is undoubtedly being invested into this game, I don't think they'd be able to get away with subtitles.

On the issue of random battles; I think they should be eliminated in their entirety.  All enemies should be visible on the field map (and hopefully overworld map) and avoidable.  Actually, on second thought, I think there should be varying degrees of aggressiveness on the part of the monsters depending on its type as well as overall party level.

The Euro is strong against the US Dollar, so the Euro should be even stronger against the Yen.  I currently takes about 146 yen to purchase one Euro.  How that would affect the price of an imported Playstation 4 is a whole other question as I think most Eurozone countries have an import VAT.  Depending on how it's calculated European games may be better off purchasing domestic Playstation 4 units.

While Kevadu makes sense of what I said it was announced that FF Agito is also coming as a free-to-download application.
This game is almost certainly going to go with the micro transaction model.  There's no way you're going to be able to have the full experience without forking over some dough.

It looks a little too cute for my taste.
28  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Dragon Quest XI will be out 2016 on: June 13, 2014, 03:20:58 AM
I highly doubt that, unfortunately.  If they did go the 2D route, they'd probably do it in a big way.  I could definitely see something that would be considered a work of art visually.
29  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Phantasy Star Nova (developed by Tri-Ace) on: June 12, 2014, 11:37:17 PM
Phantasy Star was my first RPG.  It is because of that game that I became an ardent fan of the genre to begin with.  It's a shame to see it fade into obscurity in the West.

I am still in chapter three so I've been skimming thread posts here.  Just recently, I acquired my first street pass hit while going to work last night.  I thought awesome when the screen popped up showing it happen.  It made me wonder if it has to come from another player playing the same game.
