All interest I had in the game evaporated when it was revealed that it is an online RPG.

but this blows everything I've ever seen before out of the water.

You serious? I can't believe some people are so impressed by this.

As for the Naughty Dog comparison, it's not about the budget, a lot of games with huge budgets are a technical mess. What they have is people with an unbelievable amount of talent.

Well, not including Crysis, but it's just not fair to compare anything to Crysis.

Why not?  And why even stop at Crysis?  I can think of a lot of games and demos that are more impressive than what that tech demo showed.  All we got to see are two characters, a small room, some standard-fare lighting effects for this generation, and a not-really-detailed open space with some rockets going off in the distance.  Hell, the grass is static and doesn't move despite evidence of wind when a couple of leaves fly by.  This blows away everything you've ever seen?

Those are just tech demos, but they are running in real time as well.  There's plenty of games to check out that are more visually stunning than that tech demo on PS3, 360, or PC.
While I think the tech demos you linked to look better than the one produced by Tri-Ace, I still think the demo they made looks good.  I will say that I think the Crytech engine is pretty damn impressive with blur effects in particular.

However, the art is definitely NOT up to snuff with Eternal Eden, by far. In fact, it's several factors worse. In every way, practically. I like the sun glare in the Sheerbark Ruins. Nice touch. I also dislike random encounters, whereas EE almost entirely got rid of those and let you decide if you wanted to face any enemy you ran into. Also, those enemies never returned, which was very, very nice.
I haven't played the game but I wanted to comment on this one issue.  Frankly, I happen to think that of all the indie RPG's I've played or looked at, Eternal Eden is far and away the best when it comes to art.  The only game that I can think of that has artwork of a similar quality are the recent Aveyond game (and unfortunately, it's only for the cover art).  I happen to think in that regard EE is simply in another league.  Most indie RPG's are going to fall short.
