I don't think that taunting back like that paints your side of sorts in any more of a favorable light. Just saying.
To make this post not entirely worthless, I'm still loosely following the updates they're doing from time to time and my feelings towards them is generally positive. I do want to give this game another try in the future when it's "ready".

Destructoid have a preview from Gamescom. It all sounds really wonderful, but Dark Souls incorporates what they call the "covenant system," a sort of guild-like structure that has players swearing allegiance by oath to God-like bosses they find in their travels. With allegiance sworn, the player will be bestowed with certain powers and/or attributes that will help them overcome the game's many perils.
How this covenant system plays into multiplayer really depends on whom you've sworn allegiance to. When playing the game in its online state, players of the same allegiance will benefit from each other with what was only described as something truly sensational, the Miracle Resonance.
How the Miracle Resonance works or what it actually does still remains a secret, as does much of Dark Souls, but isn't half the fun of the game discovering every last detail for yourself? sounds quite interesting in particular.

I could have sworn that Oblivion's world was created by running a random-generating sort of thing. This was from interviews/previews prior to its launch, at that. I don't exactly have any source for what I am claiming, so I'd be interested in actually reading one to set this straight.

I think that, barring games where it wouldn't make sense from a practical or design perspective, the seeing enemies on the field thing that games such as Persona 3/4 and Radiant Historia do is a far better option. Pretty much just because random encounters can be obnoxious and having a bit of control over if you want to engage in fights or not is nice.

"The monthly subscription fee means players can expect a lot of new content from us. And I say a lot -- I really mean that. This is something that we feel obligated to the players, because they are paying a monthly sub fee." -John Smedley

I dunno how much I could realistically rank the stuff I've liked, so I'm going to just list everything from this year I enjoyed since it's not an enormous amount of releases anyways.
Agalloch - Marrow Of The Spirit Age of Taurus - In The Days Of The Taurean Empire Atlantean Kodex - The Golden Bough Briton Rites - For Mircalla Demontage - The Principal Extinction Jon Lajoie - I Kill People (this counts, right?) Pallbearer - 2010 Demo Sigh - Scenes From Hell Slough Feg - The Animal Spirits The Wizar'd - Pathways Into Darkness Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones Wheel - Wheel

Might I ask what board that is, Britton? Also seeing the list would be cool, I generally enjoy viewing those. [edit: just saw the thread in this subforum...] I enjoyed the album well enough as I said, I'm just not sure if it'll still get as many listens as, say, Pale Folklore still does. Also regarding Sabbat, I assume you mean the UK one given the context. I really couldn't stand Martin Walkyier's vocals when I tried giving Dreamweaver a listen...
I really enjoyed Sigh's Scenes From Hell as well, Dincrest. Apparently they're aiming to have another one out next year if I remember right.

I'm more into doom and heavy/speed/power as far as metal goes.
The new Agalloch album was cool though, I guess. I enjoyed it and all but I'm questioning how it will stand the test of time. The production was sort of strange for them.

I've read (and experienced) that Squenix's patcher is kind of awful. You can open the torrent file with utorrent and chances are have better results. The path for the folder should be something like My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv\48eca647\metainfo
oh, and the patch is 423 MB
