^Exactly Kevadu.

Most companies wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole without drastically changing or altering the game in a highly undesirable way.

Maybe you should look into some business classes, Lard.  I'd say Business 101 but Business 100 seems more your speed.

I can't speak for Origin as I've never had it, but there is an option to stop Steam from loading at launch as it doesn't load on launch for me.  Between that option so it doesn't load on boot and making sure to quit the apps, you might not even need a separate computer.  Though if you still do want one, http://www.digitalstormonline.com/vanquish-ii.asp is worth checking out.

Macs are PCs too.

I'm just saying...

I've also been looking at pre-built rigs at Newegg and Best Buy.

Kinda weird about Steam and GoG doing that to your mac.  Did it do that even if the Steam app was completely closed in the background?

Yeah, it was bizarre.  I'd have nothing else open while working in After Effects and I'd start getting slowdown on my renders or ram preview.  I'd pop open Activity Monitor and see that a good chunk of my cpu and memory was being used up by Steam or GOG Downloader . . . that wasn't even open.  It actually made me worried that something was wrong with my processor.  But, after I uninstalled everything, it was fine.

Sounds like Steam/GoG weren't completely closed just minimized and perhaps were downloading patches as Steam seems to always do that once you build up a decent game library.  Were you hitting the X in the corner to close steam/gog or ctrl+q (i think that is the shortcut it has been awhile)?

Oh God please not Best Buy. Newegg is probably alright as they are a great place to shop parts but I'll do ya one better.

http://www.digitalstormonline.com/vanquish-ii.asp   -- Scroll to the bottom and there is one for $699 (and one for $779 if you wanted to spend a tad more) that is probably a good start.  I love and swear by Digital Storm and I'm confident that it's more than likely better than what BB or Newegg will offer for a similar price (though admittedly I've never browsed the full built pc section on Newegg).

I generally like Fujishima's designs. You might say they're bland but they're easily recognisable. Never been a fan of Inomata, though. Her girls look anorexic and she goes way overboard with the ribbons and other fancy stuff. Oh, and the clashing colours! There are times when I wonder if she's colourblind... I think Leia and Rowen are some of the rare designs I actually do like.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I like Alisha's design. Surei's is alright.  Then again, I don't really judge/critique things that much.

I *love* Alisha's design.... EXCEPT HER FUCKING NONSENSE DRILL HAIR AND CRISS CROSS BANGS.

I don't mind the direction they took with her hair, I just wish they made the drilly and big z (on her right) less obnoxious looking.  Definitely some other directions that they could have taken to be less silly, but then I guess it wouldn't be "unique/interesting" any longer.  Oh well everything can't be perfect I guess.

I asked my roommate to move out. He will be leaving next Friday after he gets his next check. I will have to keep my eyes on my stuff for the next week or so.

Shitty situation, sorry to hear it.  Is your roommate a friend that you trusted or someone you just ended up living with?

I want the HD editions. >:(

"We’ve also received Falcom’s blessing to use the majority of Trails in the Sky’s PS3 HD assets, so it’s only a matter of time before we receive them and implement them so even the menus and such display in hi-res."

Close enough for me.

Nabbed Wild Arms from the 99 cent PSN store sale.  2 hours in and it's pretty good.  Pleasantly surprised that the encounter rate is actually really good.  After playing ToD, I wasn't too sure what to expect.

Time for KOF 13

Needed hellpockets sorely imo.

There's always too many Street Fighter nerds talking shit about Tekken in the chat every year, though I like to believe is all in good spirits. Either way the final of Tekken Tag 2 was pretty fun.

Also, I want that 'Devil Asuka' shirt so bad. ;_;

Yeah that shirt is great.  I agree about Tekken.  Caught top 8 and was a really fun watch.  Certainly helps to have the Aris+MarkMan as they are very entertaining to listen to. Prob my favorite caster combo.

Can you assemble legos?  Then you can build a PC.  It's about equally difficult.

That said, building it yourself is only cheaper if you're planning on putting a free OS like Linux on it or you already have a Windows license from somewhere else you can use for it.  If you find yourself actually having to pay full retail price for a copy of Windows (which is hundreds of dollars) then forget it.  OEMs don't pay anywhere near that for their Windows licenses.  It's a very one-sided system...

For me, I would just be afraid I would fuck something up installing it.  I looked up the prices of all the parts on Amazon and Newegg and, assuming I got free shipping on everything from Amazon and Newegg, I think going with them cost me about $70 more.  Considering my hesitation with building anything myself, it was worth it to me.

Wasn't aware about the Windows price disparity.  Interesting.  I didn't have any windows 7 keys at the time since I was coming from a mac and before that was using linux.

1. All of the sites that let you order a custom PC are kind of dodgy looking.
2. Quality pre-built PCs are expensive.
3. I don't really have a clue how to build a PC.

I'd be way better off getting a PS3 or a 360.

Yeah I don't know why but I had trouble finding a good company too.  Originally all I could find were like Cyberpower/ibuypower (same?) but read too many horror stories.  However, here are two amazing ones:

I bought from Digital Storm - http://www.digitalstormonline.com and got my friend to buy from here and we both think they're fantastic.  Good support if you end up needing it.  Prices are pretty good (or were when I bought there), but ofc building it yourself is cheaper but you said you don't know how and neither did I.  Can either go completely custom and pick what you want (they'll offer suggestions too, if you ask) or go for one of their prebuilt ones (which are pretty good as well).  Either way they stress test the PCs for like 48-72 hours straight to try and weed out any defective parts.  They also don't put any stupid shit on your windows so it's pretty much stock/OEM Windows.

Puget Systems - http://www.pugetsystems.com/

Didn't buy from them but they appear to be just as solid as digital storm.  They stress test their systems as well and looks to be like a good place to buy.  The only reason I did not go with them was because when I built the same system here as I did on digital storm, it ended up being a bit more expensive.
