Flynn is a colossal fag and he's grinding on my nerves a lot.  The whole boat escape really pissed me off.  Ok Judith doesn't like Blastia, but what the fuck bitch you destroyed the power to our boat and fucked us over JUST because you like destroying it?  Pissed me the fuck off because I liked using Judith (I went back and forth between controlling her and Yuri) and she's gone for the time being (forever maybe, dunno).  Really made no sense that the empire didn't chase us.. especially just sitting in the water all night.

The way the plot is setup, it wouldn't be too uncommon for people not to have seen the outside world.

They could have made the equipped skills stand out a tad more than the non-equipped skills to distinguish the two better, but if you play around in the skills menu you'll figure it out.  If a pop-up occurs when you open the skill menu on certain characters, it means some skill is already in-use on your equipment and you're wasting skill points having it also equipped in the skills menu.  I personally have only seen one "symbol" so far.  I haven't played around with the skills to see what I can get though, I just go for the most useful ones.

You're probably killing the enemies too fast to use fatal strikes.

Rita does a good job of getting their bar low the fastest.  If you are unsure of what bar i'm talking about, you can see it when you pick your enemies with the RB button.

Interesting.  I have no sources, it's just something I looked up awhile back and thought I found an answer for.  Maybe it's the external harddrive that you can't play games from since I was looking to buy one of those for the xbla games I like.  Could be wrong about that as well (which would be nice, since I'd like to play a few arcade games without using the memory card)

A lot of forums make stickies for stuff like that (system questions like this or "what rpg should i play next?").  Not really the 'Fan's style, but could help.

I agree with the others.  For now, definitely go 360 and DS.  I'm still waiting on the PS3 personally due to cash restraints, but it might be a worthwhile investment depending on your tastes in games.

To be fair, most people don't buy Monster cables for the so-called 'visual experience', but because your pets don't have a damned chance of harming them or themselves.


Really?  I never really thought about it that way.  I'm not a pet owner at the moment so what makes them good for people with pets? Extra thickness so you can't chew through them?

look better?  That sounds similar to me like someone trying to tell you monster cables will make your games/movies look better than a $5 HDMI cable.

Could be wrong though.  Maybe the draw distance is better but I'm guessing it's not.

You do need the HD to download XBLA games (sources tell me that you can't run downloaded games from the memory cards), but it's up to you which
one you pick.  I have an arcade that hasn't been online yet, it works just fine for what i need it to do (play 360 games)

I'm not sure what cache Eusis is talking about.  I know of Unreal tournament 3 can do an install similar to what the PS3 does, but afaik, the systems and load times are the same in terms of regular, disc based games.

Apparently this game has an Indalecio (From SO2) type mechanic to it.
From a review:

"By completing a certain sidequest, an additional phase was added to the game's final boss fight, a phase [sic?] a full seventeen levels higher than the normal final boss. Once the sidequest was completed, there was no way to beat the game without going through this additional, extremely difficult boss."

Review doesn't mention what the sidequest is.  Interesting though... probably wasn't a great idea.  I could see a ton of people cashing in their DLC for that boss if it's easy to unknowingly unlock.

On a side note, apparently when you sleep at an inn voluntarily (not because you need to to make the story progress) you get an extra cutscene and may get something else out of it.  I just did it today and someone learned a new arte.  I wonder what else I missed besides some scenes?

Fought Van a few more times and beat him when I decided to have Luke play a more supporting role. I basically assisted Tear with keeping everyones Hp/Tp up, with the occasional Arte thrown in. Jade and Guy are my Heroes!
More emotional business between Luke and Tear. Kudos to the voice actors and writers for making me actually CARE about theses characters.
I'm a tad confused about the fate of Luke, though. Sooo...is he alive or dead? Him dying made sense to me, as sad as it was. Then we have the scene after the credits where he shows up in that meadow(or whatever). Was that a vision only seen by Tear? Kind of a last goodbye? Or is he still alive?

Regardless, this game has really taken a lot out of me(in a good way) and I'm going to have to play something a bit lighter before going into another long rpg.

The ending scene could be Luke OR Asch.  Most think it's Luke and it doesn't make any sense to me for it to be Asch.  Maybe it is a dream, but I'm pretty sure it meant he lived.  It's been awhile since I beat it so i'm not 100% positive.

Voice over option?  Not really sure what you mean.  But if you don't like the voices I know you can turn off skit voices and you could probably turn down scene voices to zero if you want (movies have subtitles by default as well)

I agree, is nice the X360 has this title. =)

The story has yet to "wow" me with its spoilers... but the plot is indeed thickening.  Usually Tales games pride their characters over story.

I'm liking battles too.  A good fluidity to them, even though they're less chaotic and cluttered than Abyss'.


I agree on the battles.  They are fun, just wish the enemies didn't respawn in dungeons so damn fast.  You WILL be fighting more than previous games.  Thankfully the battles are fast and the loading times are very low.

As for the story, it definitely takes awhile to get anything major going. I'm sure for reasons here and there, reviewers will nit-pick at various things (which I'd probably agree with), however it's such a fun title.  The game is still hard to put down and it's very fun to play.

Other notes: I'm glad ToV doesn't make you learn Artes like FFIX did.  Everyone was worried, myself included, that all the moves were tied to weapons.  Thankfully this is not the case and I like the skill system.

I don't see the DLC being needed too much yet.  On normal difficulty, i've yet to run out of money or really need extra levels (you level up pretty fast in the beginning like normal, then it slows down a lot more).  I imagine some may use the 5 level one on the boss from the XBL demo game.  I don't know much about the game's other difficulty modes (other than normal) or extra dungeons, but I imagine all would be useful on hard mode or any other mode that may be after that.

Same.  Really wanted to like it.  Was digging the medieval theme, the beautiful overworld, etc.  But once I started fighting more and more, combat felt really, really clunky.  Maybe I didn't get far enough, but most of it seemed to revolve around hacking and slashing with a block here and there with some movement to avoid enemy attacks.  I guess I'm one of the few that felt this way.

I decided I'm definitely going to give this game a TRY.  I'm 90% sure it'll run on my PC and looking at the wardb site (alternate site: wowdb.com), I really would like to give it a shot.

That being said, I know this is mainly a PvP game, but are there different realm types (ala Normal or PvP in WoW)?  What are the differences between the realms?  Also is there anything to discourage/prevent ganking lowbies (ex: a level 40 camping lowbies in a level 15 leveling area)?

WoW pvp while leveling rarely is fun (it's either one out numbers the other, one is fighting a mob while jumped, or one has a fair fight, only for the other to log on their main and camp said person endlessly) so I'm curious if Warhammer rectified any of the issues that plagued WoW (and probably other games)
