All four of mine came in beautifully straight!

My top did.  I had braces when I was like 14 and they pulled out an adult tooth deep back (one that no one would see) to make more room for everything else.

At the time I was pissed, but looking at it now that's the sole reason I don't have to get my (top) wisdom teeth out.  Very much worth it.

Seems like most video games are written as well as a novel for a 10 year old...so it shouldn't be hard to do...

Many people on this board blow this ridiculously out of proportion.  Whether it's true or not, it's like a board fad to claim this now.

edit:  after reading Prime Mover's post I realized I read daschrier's post wrong, but what i was getting at still stands

Yeah... It ends things properly... but the epilogue is damn harder than the rest of the game....

What?  I found most of the regular bosses and the final boss harder than anything in the epilogue.  Maybe I didn't fight every single boss battle (some are optional, right?) so that could be why I think that, but I do remember a couple of OP items that make things easier.

I finished Assassin's Creed, which is one of the most repetitive games I have ever played in my life. I loved it at the beginning, hated it at the end. I have no clue how the developers let that heppen to the game, did they not play it? Anywho, I am now 4 hours or so into Rondo of Swords. I like it so far, but it is definitely hard at spots (much like Fire Emblem).

I don't understand why people say this. AC had the deepest combat system I've ever seen in a free roaming game. The worlds were huge and it was up to the player to decide what missions they would undertake and what parts of the story they'd uncover.

People say it's repetitive, but it's one of the most constantly engaging games I've ever played. It's like the AC I went through is totally different to the one everyone else has played.

I honestly think that AC is a love it or hate it kind of game. There is no in-between to be found. I thought the combat system was anything BUT engaging. Waiting for a guard to attack you so you can counter is very boring, and this happens alot because you are constantly attacked by multiple guards making it impossible to melee attack without getting ripped apart.

I fully agree with you Blace, about the whole thing.

I'm curious how they will make the second and third game since this is a major complaint that i'm sure they will attempt to address.

Been kinda on hold for console games as of lately.  My parents are getting me a hdtv for my graduation gift+birthday gift since they bought my sister furniture in her apartment where she was doing her residency a couple years ago for her gift.  So i'm going to hold out until graduation (I dont even have my ps2 with me at the moment so it's not like I have a lot to choose from).  My parents offered it to me and even though I felt bad about it at first, I couldn't really turn it down. After looking around I'm surprised how much prices have come down and have become much more affordable.

Anyways, been playing a lot of Team Fortress 2.  I finally rocked my old best damage and kill record in one round yesterday.  I probably won't be beating my new record anytime soon but that's okay.  At least this time it's with my favorite class.

How would you rate the difficulty compared to either of the GBA Fire Emblems?

I'm going to finish all the hunts in FFXII which should take up a lot of time as well as all summons since i'm at the last dungeon.
Yeah, that will take a lot of time... I don't think either of those things is possible without getting at least 3 characters to Level 100, or getting super-weapons like the Tournesol and the Zodiac Spear, so have fun doing all that. :P

I was planning to go that route, but after the remaining hunts became too ridiculously hard, I just went and beat the game. I wasn't even near level 100 and didn't have any super weapons, and destroyed the final boss in no time.

I stopped at the second best hunter rank.  From what I read on gamefaqs, the last hunt takes literally hours to beat.  You probably made the right decision

It's the same singer.  How is it going to be bastardized?  Just because it's not in Japanese?

I'm highly interested in this title and will be scurrying off to the city later to find a copy.  It should be a pretty fun game.  I usually don't like playing too many Srpgs in close intervals, but Fire Emblem: DS seems like a long way off so I'm not too worried =P

I like how they're finally dubbing skits and even resinging the opening vocal in english rather than cutting the vocals out or outright replacing the song. I'm not the biggest fan of Tales of games, but it looks good and it'll be nice to have more quality RPGs for the 360.

Yeah, now maybe Bandai can move on up to actually keeping the original Japanese vocals...

I wouldn't mind that either but it's wishful thinking.

...and companies never go back on their word...

I fully agree with what Silverwolf X said.  While companies may go back on their word, look at the history of the Tales series in the US.  Anytime a Tales game has been released in America on a system, any ports of said game in Japan never came to America.  We get one shot at a game, if even that.  This could change with Tales of Vesperia but I'm willing to bet that it won't.

I actually might have been frothing about that at an earlier point! Even then though, this is too vague. THERE'S A WEDDING!!! Ok.

Speaking of LO, I completed the first dungeon-ish area on Disc 2! And the enemies seem to be getting way too much HP and dragging battles out longer than necessary, let's see if this reaches a point of putting me off to the game.

I'm far enough to know who he's talking about but not far enough to get to that point so it pissed me off that he didn't even take the 2 seconds to put a spoiler tag on it.   You'll figure out who he is talking about soon enough.

Disc 2 had probably some of the longer battles.  It got better afterwards for me at least.  I sometimes would go the route of using all-flara or another element with someone else to cast a speed-up spell.  That helped speed things up for me.
2352  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Tales of Vesperia on: April 16, 2008, 11:05:20 AM
I really digg the screenshots.  I never have gotten that excited for graphics before, but I think I will make an exception this one time.  It's been awhile that I've been so fanboy-ish excited for a title that doesn't even have a lot of information out yet.. its been awhile so it feels nice to be excited about something again.

I'm curious how exactly the gameplay will turn out.  I'm pretty sure that in one of the interviews with the developers they stated the battles would run in 60fps.  That's pretty interesting about the "button mashing certain buttons to make moves".  It makes me think of Devil May Cry 4 with the combo moves.  I wonder if there will be a classic scheme or not?

I'd give Professor Gast/Chris a try.  It might be something worth posting on the front page news.

Bumping this topic because of this:

http://kotaku.com/379737/valkyria-chronicles-has-an-optional-install-thanks-sega

Valkyria Chronicles will have an optional 3.3gig install that will cut down the load times from a 15 second wait.  I'm wondering if it completely gets rid of the load times or just reduces it to a more manageable level?  Also I wonder how often those "15 second load times" would exist?  Just first booting up? Every time you enter a new town?

Thoughts?

I personally don't care as long as it's an optional install incase someday in the future you run out of space (I wouldn't buy anything but the 80 gig model so who knows if that would even happen but I digress) and want to play a game anyhow.  I think overall it's great.  Anything that helps the flow of the game, makes things more natural feeling, and reduces loading times in general is appreciated in my book.

If Adel was the lady that you fought late in the game, I had trouble with her too.  In fact, that was one of the few FF bosses that I never beat legitimately.   I ended up using a gameshark to beat the game.  Sad =\
