I do know that Blizzard is including red gear (step ABOVE legendary) with the expansion.

At this point, artifacts are unlikely

I keep up to date on beta news and discussion and I haven't really seen any real information of them yet.  I just don't see it happening yet.  Maybe not even ever.

There has been some items floating around the web from people who got information from data mining.  Most of them are fake or GM weapons.  There really isn't a way to know what the stats or status (legendary, epic, etc) of the item is until it's introduced.  That's why there may have had pictures of Tier 4, 5, new epics, Ashbringer, etc without knowing the actual stats of the item.

FFXII question for those of you who played it all:

Can you find dual wielding on the license board somewhere?  Some of the weapons like daggers and ninja swords (haven't seen any yet) seem like they are good candidates for that.

Right now I'm playing FF12, FF3, and Zelda: TP.  Loving them all.  FF3 is having it's annoying moments, but it's overall pretty cool.  My only job complaint is that it seems like anyone can dual wield.  I don't see a point in equipping a shield for +3 defense (at the moment) when I can equip a weapon for a lot more.  I wish they restricted it so that only certain classes could do it.  Oh well, minor complaint.

That's what I thought as well.

Both of them had china farmer names (unguilded as well) and didn't understand English.  Also it was mid afternoon so they were the only two in there.

Indeed. and a happy new years to all of you.

Being in my last year of uni and rarely coming home, I've lost contact with most of my friends from home (or just don't talk to them because I don't want to).  So, I hung out with my one good friend that I still do hang out with when we are both home.  We drove around for a little while, then ended up going back to his house to watch a movie with his family and enjoy a good drink.  After midnight we watched a few episodes of Metalocalypse.  God that show is strange.

Oh? Some geo-panel puzzles can be quite challenging, especially with stats like "Enemy Boost 50%" or "Clone" (and one map even had both).

"Generally," the maps are fairly straightforward.
I do agree with you though, in that the geo-panels did make certain moments in the game both challenging and frustrating. But I found that most geo-panel dilemas could be solved fairly easily by simply throwing a mage once or twice in the direction of the troublesome geo-symbol, then letting their long range attacks take care of the problem.

Well, I think the way they used the geo-panels was to try and make the game more difficult instead of just upping the enemies levels. At the same time, it makes you think a little bit more than you had to in Disgaea 1.

I beat the game awhile ago.  I did most everything.  I got all the classes, all the cameo characters, got into the LoC world (pain in the ass), and got some of the ultimate weapons.  That being said, it's a pretty good game.  It's improved in almost every aspect except the characters and humor (but that's just my opinion.  I really enjoyed D1's characters.)

I agree with Alisha, the character sprites definitely do look better.  I enjoyed many of the redrawn class sprites (samurai and ninja look nice.  Majins remind me of Goku - especially the last tier of Majins. ).

The new monster classes were very nice.  I liked how every single class had an individual merit to them that made them unique (ex: wood golem heals itself every turn, baciels never miss, etc).  With this addition for the monster classes, I didn't see the need to use the story characters that much except for the cameo ones.
2601  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Blizzard bans 100,000+ for cheating/gold farming on: January 01, 2007, 09:51:04 PM
I'm glad for expensive money sinks like mounts.  Mounts/epic mounts/flying mounts I imagine remove a ton of gold from the game.

I believe Blizzard is doing a pretty decent job with this.  Last time I tried looking, I couldn't find any exploiters/farmers in Scholo, Strath, DM, and oddly ZG (I saw two single mages go in there and were in there for awhile.  No idea why.  I can't imagine two shitty geared mages could even kill one trash mob without running out of mana even if they are exploiting).

Also, they seem to be cracking down on the more obvious places for RMT.  You used to be able to search ebay and find lots of accounts for sale as well as lots of gold listed.  Now, it's harder to find accounts to buy (price seems to have fallen big time) and blizzard is actively shutting down auctions.  Gold prices have also seemed to gone up 75%-100%.

Blizzard is also going as far as trying to sue the creator of wow-glider (doubt they will win, but I'm not sure).  Wow-glider is a program that the bots use that pretty much automate everything.  I checked out their page the other day and had a decent laugh.  I enjoyed the part of their faq where they say something along the lines of "if we actually wanted to, we could create a bot that would destroy any human player in 1v1 pvp".  I think for the most part that's crap.

on a side note, anyone see the gold farming documentary on mtv?  i believe the guy who made it has a site: www.chinesegoldfarmers.com

WoW, Demonology warlocks just got smacked with a big nerf bat.

Armor and DPS on the felguard got reduced by a lot.

Soul link is now 20% instead of 30%.

Changes for the better imo.  Their tears are funny however.

Where did you get this information?

I also forgot to list Curse of Weakness DPS reduction got reduced by a lot too.  The highest ranking spell was ridiculous.  It can also no longer be amplified by Amplify Curse.  Instead, Curse of Doom can now be amplified.

Soul link nerf is already implemented in the beta.  Dmg was increaded to +5% for Soul Link (+2% I think from before).

With that said, I didn't spot any bitching about this on the official forums, so it probably isn't so.

Check the beta forums.

Still, the publicity stunt worked.  Even if the attention was all just people yelling and screaming, it's still attention.  It got people in an uproar about yet another silly internet thingamabobber.  As Gene Simmons of KISS says, "there's no such thing as bad publicity."

Apparently they don't think that way.  They removed the video from youtube and the blog was taken down (or is currently offline).  PA said they posted an apology, but the site seems inaccessible now.

edit:  I found it

Busted. Nailed. Snagged. As many of you have figured out (maybe our speech was a little too funky fresh???), Peter isn't a real hip-hop maven and this site was actually developed by Sony. Guess we were trying to be just a little too clever. From this point forward, we will just stick to making cool products, and use this site to give you nothing but the facts on the PSP.

Since you all are rogues I won't bother posting any other class sets.  All I have to say is priest sets don't feel like they have enough stamina on them.

http://img95.imageshack.us/my.php?image=roguelv2.jpg

edit:  nvm.  Priest seems to have two sets.  One for healing and one with +healing and +damage.  That's.... awesome.

the healing set has about 85 stamina, +340 healing, 20 mana 5
the pvp set has about 94 stamina, +190 dmg/heal, hit +45, crit +73
Only 5 pieces are shown.  Head, shoulder, chest, legs, and hands.

Hey...I am a warrior. lemme see. Lemme see!

Ask and you shall receive:  Warrior T5 Stats.
Top part is Warrior pvp tier 5 set, bottom is tanking tier 5 set.  Both have same kickass graphics.  However I heard some complaints that this set actually has a bit less stamina than tier 4.  I'm sure this could change by the time tier 5 is implemented.  We shall see.

Quote from: "The Darkrider"
What I've seen of the paladin tier five sets is absolutely wonderful. The healing set has somewhere around +350 healing and the tanking set has a goddamn ton of additional shield block and dodge. The ret set could stand to give you some agility, but the chance to heal everyone around you when you use a judgment kinda makes up for that, I think. :P

Yeah you are right.  Their tank set is pretty good, though at the moment I'm hearing that for the 5 and 10 man level 70 raids, they aren't really good enough for the Heroic difficulty setting.  Still works for everything else though ^_^.  Yeah, their healing set is pretty nice and their ret set is wonderful.  The set could stand to use some agility (which it has none), but since it has so much intelligence, stamina, and strength, adding agility would make it too imbalanced with the ilevel of the item.

At this point I'm wondering if getting the pieces would be a chore and a large dkp investment.  I'm not sure if turning in one quest (ala AQ or Naxx) would net you one piece of the set (ex: you can pick healing, ret, or tanking shoulder slot for a Paladin) or if it would net you all three pieces at once and maybe just have more tokens than normal needed?

on a side note, cloak of shadows is no longer a 41 point subtlety talent for rogues but a trainable talent at 66.  If this continues, fuck rogues.  damn.

Also there was a patch today for BC with undisclosed notes.  They seemed to have nerfed 3 pc trans.  Oh well.  I guess it was a solution to the "I don't wanna wear 3 pc trans forever" complaints.

On another side note, I'm thinking of transferring my priest when the time is up.  Depending on where you all are (pve/pvp i don't care) and how many are there, maybe i'll switch.  I am horde, however.

Well, now that honor doesn't decay they had to do something.  I'm not really that surprised by it.

If what you said is true, then technically they didn't lie.  Prices are the same, right?  I haven't checked it out myself.

The graphics are pretty good.  They did a pretty good job of keeping the feel of the series from what they are showing so far.  I'm a bit more interested now that I've seen some sceenshots of it.  I don't know how I feel about the action bits though.

Bumping this back up since the game's been out for awhile, and is actually getting reviewed.

Alright, who here will seriously get it? I'm on the fence of trying to get it ASAP or waiting since I have no idea whether anyone else I know intends to get it, and I'd love to have some online Bomberman. It sounds like there's enough fun to be had even if I don't play online with anyone, but that's the real appeal for me.

Edit: And yes, IGN confirmed Single cart multiplayer.

Sweet.  If enough people bought it I suppose I would too.  Old bomberman multiplayer is a blast.  Single player sucks.
