Twin Emps down.

I was just looking at my realm forums and someone else from our realm killed him at about the same time (you posted about 1-2 hours later than they did).

Are you in <Bloodline> on Garithos?

Some questions I couldn't find the answers to:

How is loot based?  Do crates just appear after you kill a boss and you just smash and hope you're one of the ones who gets a box full of goodies?

Are the pvp problems that were in PSO gone?  I didn't really play PSO so I'm unclear, but couldn't people kill you in the world and take your stuff?

Do you lose your stuff when you die like you did in PSO?

that looks fun.  If it comes with a feature that anyone can download the game onto their DS for multiplayer mayhem (with all the multiplayer features), i'll definitely buy this.

Gotta love tanks dual wielding axes.  Gotta love healers who seem to think they can heal in a bear shape.  Gotta love hunters who multishot every time and wonder why they keep getting aggro.  Gotta love a paladin who got stuck with a bunch of fucktards.

Fuck Gnomer in its green midget ass. :P

You know, the more I play this game, the more I think everyone who plays it is a complete freaking retard.

WoW proves darwinism wrong.

As for gnomer, i always hated running that.  It was easy until you got to the part with the dark iron dwarves.  Most groups never get all the bombs disabled.

Lately i've been playing some WSG wiith my mage.  I thought, hey -- it's a good time to get to friendly since i'm almost there.  WRONG.  Let this picture sum up most of the games I was in:

Fuck Alliance.  Strangely I have not been in a game yet where Horde does it.  But i'm sure it happens.  and a big fuck you to blizzard for not fixing this since 1.12.

both warriors tanked with 2H, and we had a kamikaze 56 mage who apparently thought that he should nuke until he dies. Ironically, the only person who seemed to know wtf was going on was an unguilded 60 mage the "MT" knew. Probably the most fun part was the MT always, and I mean ALWAYS, charging into the fray when I just sit down to drink.

that sucks... did you tell them to put on a shield and they just didn't listen?  if they are that stupid then they're probably one of those warriors who soloed to 60 and never did the quest for defensive stance.

depending on how bad the pull was when they charged, i would have just kept drinking and letting them die.  it's counter productive but damnit when the healer is drinking let him drink.

I just love how this game can be so frustrating and so awesome at the same time. Yesterday me and a guildmate joined up with some randoms and travelled into Scholomance. The group consisted of me (priest), my guildmate (hunter), a pretty good warrior and two morons in the shapes of a rogue and a paladin. The rogue was in a big raiding guild, and refused to follow the lead of others. He would constantly attack mobs other than the desinated target, break shackle etc. The paladin, on the other hand, was about 8 year old and had great trouble understanding basic english. No matter how many times we would tell him to stay in a corner, he would always follow the puller into the room we were pulling from. And he would bless people with BoW/M even though we asked for other buffs. And so on.

I love how people (the rogue) think that just because their in a raid group that makes them awesome or something.  I really hate hearing about horrid group stories.  Makes me lose faith in the populace (in wow).

As for horrid group stories, I have one of recently.  It's not that theese guys were complete morons... the group makeup just fucking sucked.  I don't know what convinces people to try and do an instance with a really crappy group.  The group consisted of:

1 x Resto druid tank (lol)
2 x Elemental Shaman who aggroed like mad
1 x rogue who couldn't out dps a fly.  the 60 rogue was still using the SM sword.
1 x priest who is shadow specced for soloing and is rusty from not playing his priest often.

We wiped about 7 times on the way to Jandice and didn't even kill her.  I'd cast flash heal only to get aggro of multiple enemies.  It sucked.
2676  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / BC Tier 4 armour sets on: September 07, 2006, 06:16:35 PM
The rogue armor looks pretty sweet.  Kinda reminds me of a plate set.  Helmet looks retarded as usual.

Mage set is pretty cool too.  I don't like the huge coller.  maybe that's a head piece similar to the head of transcendance.

Priest set is fucking badass.  Maybe ill level my priest to 70 and raid.

Paladin set is okay.. helmet sucks though.

Gamespot are still the best when it comes to the scores.

The only gaming site I ever visit - besides this one - is gamespot, and although I do enjoy to read their reviews, I do think they suck at scoring RPGs.

Why do you say that anyway? If you mean that they don't score them high enough, RPGs seem to be one of the more 9 filled genres there are, and one of the only ones to have one that scored a 10 (Chrono Cross). If it's something else though... Well, /I/ think they do a good job. Most any RPG that's great gets at least an 8, and personally I think that's a damn good score. I can only think of VP and SO3 off the top of my head that might have deserved higher scores - and honestly, I thought those were flawed enough that, objectively, they may not really deserve more than 7-ish scores.

Chrono Chross got a 10?  Wow... I also remember when EGM (lol) wrote their FFX-2 review, they gave it 9.5-10s.

To be honest I don't trust any rpg reviews outside this board and this site.  I'm sure there are other good ones out there, I just don't see the need to visit many.
2678  The Rest / General Discussions / Whoa! Schools are becoming way too competitive! on: September 07, 2006, 11:39:28 AM
I don't know, but perhaps they are trying to instill the value of doing your work and getting things done.  I look at my highschool years and even my college days now and there are so many people who do not know how to study or are just plain too lazy to do homework/study.  Maybe they are thinking if they instill those values when they are younger, it will continue on in later years.

Speaking of which, I need to go read now.

edit:  I do agree though that the article is crazy.  it's a bit too young.

edit part deux: I also wonder if this has anything to do with everything becoming a "global economy".  My professors keep saying how we aren't just competing for jobs with the people in our class, school, or country but against people all around the world.

This statement worries me.

A lot.

Unless she imported it, she hasn't played it so I wouldn't worry unless she's just quoting the review. Nevertheless, if you dig around in reviews it sounds like it's a relevant comparison - it's likely to piss off people who just want more of VP1, going by the import reviews and what I heard from John.

unfortunately i have never gotten the chance to play the first one.  I don't own a psp and didn't know about the game until it was very overpriced.

Hopefully this works out for the better when I play VP2 in September.

This being my first semester in college, I just don't have the time for World of Warcraft that I used to. However, I've noticed many students on campus playing WoW, and I thought I might see if I couldn't arrange a University of Alaska Southeast WoW Guild.

However, I don't really know the first thing about guilds. I've only ever been part of one, and I've certainly never had any position of "power" or "authority."

I plee to the WoW-ites, hand me your wisdom! What goes into creating a succesful guild?

It just needs to be fun.  Don't recruit asshats.  Do try to promote unity (or whatever gets your members helping each other).

This guild I just joined a couple weeks ago is by far the best guild i've ever been in.  I love it.  Just gotta find cool people I guess.  Our guild leader isn't on that often.  IMO for most of us it's not a big deal at all.  (though, recently we've been recruiting more people and the requirements aren't really... strict (seems like they're inviting anyone 50+).  I personally don't like it).
2682  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Kel'Thuzad vanishes. on: September 05, 2006, 10:39:44 PM
I'm not suprised at all given that it's blizzard -- and it's bullshit.  It took them a couple days to figure this out?  That's retarded.

Kinda leveled the playing field for the four-five guilds who already downed Sapphiron.  Some got one or two chances in I believe, but that's it.

Kinda funny though that they mentioned EJ and overrated though.  Neither are really in contention for the Kel'thuzad race since neither have downed the four horsement yet.

I'm still playing WoW. I see you guys are also, do you think we'll still be here in 5 years time bitching? bah... Me wants to try out Warhammer =)

From the way people have been talking (on the WoW fora), it seems like Wildhammer could be the game that makes people stop playing WoW and go on to different games.

Me?  Don't know much about it.  But when PSO comes out there's a good chance I will cancel WoW.  We'll see.

But with cross-server BG's being implemented, population hardly matters now.

On a PvP server it still matters some.  I don't like running into members of the opposite faction at every questing point, so I enjoy a medium pop server.

I used to think DDS had high random encounters.  Then I played a lot of Suikoden 5 and DDS felt like a walk in the park.

Lately one thing has been bugging me:

Reappearing bosses.  What I mean is people you defeat but they show up again later.  For God's sake kill him.  If there's a reason it doesn't happen, I can let that slide.
