3  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / World of Warcraft OH MY GOD CURRENT EVENTS THREAD on: March 19, 2007, 05:46:20 PM
Just ran my first karazhan last night with a few guildees and some pickup, Downed the first boss, but decided to call it quits after numerous failures on moroes and the maiden of virtue. Not that bad for a first time for all of us I wager.

P.S. Playing a healer on dialup = ulcers. le sigh.

P.S.S Sorry to hear about the scam booboo, Ive been getting them all the while as well, Some of my relatives also clicked on the message, luckily they didnt have nearly enough money to loose though, but they reported being kicked off of their account on occasion after opening it, like someone was trying to log onto it - was fixed after they changed their password.

Heya guys, just realized this game will be released in not too long. Am just wondering if anybody has any input / impressions about the game: would love to know a little bit about it from word of mouth before I make the plunge to buy it.
5  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Ar Tonelico Premium Box on: January 09, 2007, 03:14:24 PM
gah, the NIS official preorder "ticket campaign" for the game + artbook + soundtrack ended a few days ago so it was to late for me to gnab it :( ah well.

Would anyone happen to know if gamestop is receiving the premium box for the game? I visited gamestop.com and saw that they are selling the artbook with the game, but it doesnt say if it comes with the "box." I am aware the soundtrack is NIS exclusive as well, but im not that interested in that.
6  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Worst RPG you've ever played. on: November 21, 2006, 03:32:56 PM
Heroes of the lance for the NES. I rue the day I asked for this game for christmas once upon a time, and can only hope one day I will regain the lifeforce it has stolen from me.
7  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Disgaea 2 on: November 16, 2006, 09:01:36 PM

It's highly doubtful Disgaea 2 will have the same rarity as Disgaea 1 for two reasons.

1) It's not printed by Atlus. It's from Nippon Ichi Software of America this time. Look around. You'll see tons of copies of Phantom Brave.

2) It's sold in frickin' Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc, etc. I've never seen an Atlus game sold there. But, like I said, this is NISA, not Atlus this time.

I wouldnt make any solid theories about the games rarity yet, Since I can disprove you from some personal expiriences.

  1. Nippon ichi also has its fare share of current games that cant be found in most stores after a short production period, such as eternal mana 1, and eternal mana 2 just left the gamestop website, for a small example.

  2. I bought my copy of Disgaea 1 at my local best buy upon release, and I bought my copy of Rhapsody: A musical adventure at Wal Mart upon release.
8  Media / Single-Player RPGs / The Bard's Tale. on: November 02, 2006, 04:00:40 AM
This was a fun game to watch a friend play one weekend, I chuckled many times. Its one of those games that are better watched while your doing else more productive at the same time.
9  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Nintendo DS recommendations? on: November 02, 2006, 03:57:46 AM
Screen protectors are definatly worth it. If you cant find the hori ones, I have the Pelican write and protect pack, you can buy this in almost any store that carries games and game equipment including wal mart. Comes with 2 top screen protectors and 1 bottom screen, 2 stylii and a cleaning cloth, got both on just fine and havnt had any problems.

As for games, I would recommend dawn of sorrow, phoenix wright and magical starsign for a fun rpg expirience.

12  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria on: October 04, 2006, 03:23:32 AM
its going well for me so far, however I cannot shake the SO:THEOT nostalgia out of my mind. Most of it is because im quite fairly sure that alicia's voice actress is also sophia's from star ocean - aside from that, the battle system feels a little sprinkled with star ocean elements as well (leveling up, model movement, atmosphere). Its not so much of a negative to me as an "itchy" sensation thats been weirding me out.

Another concern I have so far is about the einherijar system - it just feels a bit more empty than lenneths go around at it. I loved hearing and watching the stories about how the people met thier doom and the things that went on in thier life. In silmeria it just feels like they are throwing them at you - and I cant really connect with them - the tidbits of info they provide you with in thier profile just isnt cutting it. Hopefuly ill get to hear more stories about all of them later in.
13  Media / Single-Player RPGs / So who else thinks DQVIII is the best localization job ever? on: October 04, 2006, 03:09:18 AM
ah ramza your in for a nice little blast from the past my friend.

I would definatly try out Dragon Warrior (quest) 4 for the Nes, it had a catchy soundtrack that I enjoyed almost as much as crystalis's (almost)which im sure you can appreciate. It was also quite ahead of its time for a nes rpg, featuring a multiple member party system, which was the first nes game ive played where you can swap members ( mind you I havnt played 2 or 3), each of them also had a background story, which was rare back then.

All in all it wont dissapoint for the 40 - 50 some hours youll be playing through it, brings back memories of me playing it while listening to skid row for hours on end thinking of ways I could slash my jeans to expose my underwear.

The novelty of playing the game again on a new system might be setting in. Also, the cutscenes added really spice everything up. I knew right when it flipped to FMV for Lenneth's Valkyrie form to show up, it was definitely something else. That is one gorgeous woman, I tell you what.

As for the game itself, I've noticed they restrict you on combos if an enemy dies before somebody else begins to engage on them. It might actually have been that way beforehand and I don't recall, from having 3 characters with 3-string weapons and enemies having so much freaking HP, but I don't remember it.

Either way, Lenneth is an utter sex goddess and VP:Lenneth is the bees knees. Utterly worth the purchase of a PSP and the game, if you are a fan of the original title.

Ill have to agree with you here, I find the voice for lenneth very mature and alluring while fitting, great voice actress. I also enjoy the voice actress that does Kika from Suikoden 4 and other characters, very nice on the ears.

They must be doing something right when other ladies are attracted to them.

completed suikoden 5, grandia 3 and steambot chronicles so far this summer and have a lot currently on hold which I dont really have the drive to finish.

oddly enough with all of the brand new shinys I have, I really want to play chrono cross all over again for the billionth time.

Looking forward to Disgaea 2 (I have high hopes for a wonderful soundtrack) and Super Monkeyball adventure. (umm.. free plushy monkey).

toodles

Edit: its been a long, hard and painful battle on my fingers, but ive finaly reached the Sanbone Trio on Masters Play in Gitaroo Man, and boy am I in for it. I can get past the initial dodge phase in the beginning with ease, but after I transform then it all goes downhill... gotta keep trying!
