Razor blades. They are damn expensive so I make them last way longer than is comfortable. When I feel my face ripping apart is when I finally go buy new ones.

I used to do the same thing, because I got really fucking tired of having to buy Mach 3 blades once a month.  But then I got tired of feeling like I was shaving with a fucking cheese grater too. :P  I decided to buy a safety razor online and go old school with it.  It costs more up front, but you'll make up the difference within a year.

Grow beards you sissies ;)

'Cheap' isn't the right word for me...I have absolutely no problem spending money on the things I care about.  But my priorities seem to be a little...different from most people.  I buy new clothes maybe once a year, always from dirt-cheap bargain sales.  I wear my shoes until they're literally full of holes and the rubber on the soles has been worn until it's completely flat and smooth.  Yet I won't even hesitate to spend $50+ on a good bottle of wine.

While I understand your frustration, ZeronHitaro, I really don't think it's as bad as you make it out to be.  People make decisions for all kinds of reasons.  You can end up arriving at the same conclusion for completely different reasons.  Vincent's internal monologues are not irrelevant.

Code:
Regarding the whole dumping of Catherine thing, you seem to be ignoring the fact that Vincent still thought Katherine was pregnant at that point.  That's a huge deal.  Like Cyril said he is responding to societal pressures, etc.  Heck, even though I was steering him in that direction as the player, I still would have felt that he was a colossal asshole if he just ditched his pregnant girlfriend of several years to run off with some chick he met not even a week ago.

In the end Katherine turns out not to be pregnant and after he's free from that burden Vincent is able to acknowledge how much Catherine meant to him.  At least that's how I interpret it.

Still, some minor adjustment of some of the custscenes would have made things flow a lot smoother.  I can think of a couple places where my interpretation is stretched (like Vincent declaring that he loves Katherine after all, though he could just be lying to himself).

I also don't like your variable scenario suggestion at all.  It just doesn't make any sense.  Katherine as the succubus?  Even though they had been together for years and everyone knew her?  Besides, I don't like games that change their underlying scenario based on player input.  Player interacting with the world is great, but changing what's true and what isn't true in the world to suit the needs of the player is a cop-out.

Well I've only done a chaos playthrough so I can't really help you, ZeronHitaro.  I guess we could compare notes or something.

Considering the monologue dialog doesn't seem to change anything the only point I can imagine remotely changing might be
Code:
the section near the 7th or 8th day (can't recall which) where Vincent breaks up with Catherine; but Katherine finds out, fight ensures, Catherine gets stabbed, and you have to escort Katherine up a tower as part of a dream sequence while demon Catherine chases you.

If that scene somehow reverses Catherine and Katherine's roles any that might be the only thing that would differ aside from the final ending.

Nope, that doesn't change.  Even though as the player I was going for Catherine from the start the story really does seem like it wants to put you on the Katherine path until the very end.  Though I did really enjoy the ending I got.

But with the amount of bank that Blizzard pulls in from WoW, I doubt they're looking at Diablo 3 to generate significant income.

I don't even know what to say to that.  You think that because they have one successful product they don't want two successful products?

I'm surprised a box puzzle game is getting so much attention, the adventure segments must really be great.

There is very little in the way of adventure elements in this game.  Really it just comes down to talking to people at the bar and at landings and occasionally making a choice.

I won't deny that the story and presentation is part of what makes this game so compelling, but don't be so dismissive of block puzzles.  They are well-designed, varied, and interesting.  They require a combination of reflexes, planning, and sometimes a little luck.  I would not have burned through this game in a weekend if I didn't find the core gameply fun.

Did a marathon session this weekend and beat it on normal.  I really didn't find it that hard...until the second to last stage.  Holy crap that was ridiculous.  Weren't even any big puzzles in it but it basically required you to do everything absolutely perfectly or get killed.  I think I died over 40 times on it (fortunately I had a lot of pillows saved up by this point...).

I got the 'normal' Catherine ending.  It was awesomely hilarious.  I won't say anything more.

Anyway, time to take a break from this game for a while.  I have been playing it so much this weekend that I see block puzzles whenever I close my eyes...

Did you know? Mameshiba has become a Nintendo 3DS game!

I want this so bad that is not even funny.

Finally, the 3DS killer app.

Yeah, the game starts out quite slow but I fell in love with it by the end.

My favourite being the press-turn battle system.

And I though I was the only one around here that loved that battle system.

Are you kidding me?  This site is Atlus fan central.

Not that there's anything wrong with that ;)

What test is that?  The are-you-desperate-enough-to-date-a-lunatic test?

Some tests are better off failed...

Yeah, I wouldn't trust the opinion of anyone who doesn't put mustard on a pastrami sandwich...that's crazy.

Improved graphics don't give me a headache after 5 minutes of playtime.  Screw 3D.

I have Battleheart on my android tablet and while it is certainly fun in short bursts it can get pretty darn repetitive.  Every fight plays out pretty much the same way.  There aren't big variations in tactics.  And of course the fighting is all there is...there's zero story.
