Also Squeenix came straight out of the gate saying that a lot of XIII-2 was being built from the cutting room floor scraps of XIII-1.

Actually, they have explicitly stated that this is not the case.  But the myth seems to be more popular than the reality.

And now we're talking about XIII-2 in the Zelda thread...see, it's such a talk-aboutable game!

So could I.  Why did we arbitrarily decide that visual novels don't count?

That said, I'm not optimistic about this particular project.  Looks really bland.  And Kinema Citrus doesn't have much of a pedigree...they're pretty new and seem to have mostly done in-between work.  That doesn't mean it can't be good, but...

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is up to page 33: hasn't been released yet, and was announced for US release on Day 1. Come on... it's not like RPG NEVER talks about games before they are released.

To be fair, half the posts in the XIII-2 thread are bashing it.

IGN's review is up.  Say what you will about them, but I thought this particular review was very well-written and informative.

I haven't played this game, but TWEWY is better.

;)

My copy still hasn't shipped.  What's up with that, NISA?

I don't think we know anything about the dub yet.  That likely won't be out for a while.  Simulcasts are, by nature, subtitled only.  There just isn't time to redub things.
There's time, but not the money to pay voice actors (it's worse if they're with unions). I thought it was that way.

No, there certainly will be a dub for the DVD/blu-ray release.  Just not the simulcast.

Oh snap!

Persona 4 anime is coming to AMERICA. You too, can have your Teddy fix.

Well...yeah.  Did you think it wouldn't?  The majority of what's on in Japan gets simulcasted these days.  Fansubbers are practically obsolete.

Sounds like The Anime Network will be doing the simulcast.  I'm a little disappointed that it's not Crunchyroll since I have a paid membership with them and can watch 720p streams commercial-free...

Oh man, the first time I played SotC I didn't have a killer sound system, but now I do.  I hadn't even though about that.  This is going to be great ;)

It's official.

This does greatly increase the chance of seeing it localized.  Assuming the Vita doesn't flop, anyway.  Though Xseed is going to be busy with Trails in the Sky for a while...

Meh, I already have a better Android tablet.  Amazon is being pretty mum on technical specs, probably because it isn't packing anything worth talking about.  The only thing that makes this device at all interesting is the integration with Amazon's cloud services.  Still, it sounds like a heavily locked down device, no access to the standard Android market, etc.  I'll pass.

???  With the exception of clock speed on the processor, most of the specs are available:

http://gizmodo.com/5844648/how-does-the-amazon-kindle-fire-tablet-stack-up-to-the-competition

Sorry, but there are a lot of question marks even on that chart.  And we are missing more info about the processor than just its clockspeed.  We don't even know what kind of processor it is.  Saying 'dual-core' is meaningless.  Dual-core is completely standard these days.  And furthermore, there are plenty of things we don't know that aren't even on that chart, for instance what kind of graphics processor it has (and yes, that can matter on tablets).

To put it another way:  About the only things we do know are the screen size and resolution and memory.   That is not 'most of the specs'.

Haha I personally thought they stuck out enough.  Yorda sort of runs at it the second she sees it, and it...glows.

Really?  Yorda never even approached one of them on her own when I played.  And I certainly didn't notice any glowing...

Still, what I want and what most consumers seem to want has proven to be rather different in the past.

I am sort of interested in the new Kindle Touch (good to see e-ink is still alive and well), but I'm a pissed that they made absolutely no mention of the fact that the $99 price point was for the ad-supported version.  It's not until you actually try to buy the thing that you find out that you have to pay and extra $40 if you don't want ads.  I don't care if they want to make an ad-supported version, but at least mention that you're talking about the ad-supported one when you announce the price point!

I thought there was more to rap music than just having spoken lyrics.  The song seems more techno-ish to me.  But what do I know.  It's hard to tell much from 18 seconds of a song anyway.
