Wow, that describes me perfectly.  I have nothing more to say...

Umm, it was meant to be heckling that was the whole point of the blog. I wasn't striving for anything more than that. If that's childish so be it I'm fine with it.

Sorry, I thought you had some sort of point you were trying to make.  My mistake.
2628  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Teh Bestest Review Evar! on: September 15, 2011, 07:41:35 PM
Honestly, Kay, I found your critique to be quite childish and unfounded.  Your contempt is obvious, but 90% of what you wrote amounts to little more than heckling.  You fail to present a coherent message.  One minute you criticize the author for using too much slang, and then the next you criticize the author for using 'big words' (that aren't even that big).  You seem to be going out of your way to find things to complain about.  I might note that personally I didn't have any difficulty understanding the author's slang and I'm not even much of a slang user myself.

It's obvious that the writer wasn't going for a "professional journalistic tone", but this isn't a story about international politics.  It's a video game review.  What's wrong with being a little silly?  One shouldn't claim something isn't 'professional' without considering the context and nature of the article in question.  Frankly I enjoy it when a reviewer feels that he or she can be a little more personal with the audience.  Not every review needs to be a dry list of facts.

Epic's epic epic ends epically

Come one, think about that sentence. It's an epic and guess what? It's epic! And it ends epically!!!

Jesus Christ.

It's a friggin joke.  It's supposed to sound silly.

P.S.: I hate Gears of War.

This game actually looks very import-friendly.  Because they want it to be accessible for kids they even have furigana (the little hiragana characters over the kanji to tell you how to pronounce them).  It's a perfect match for my child-like Japanese skills ;)

That music seemed really inappropriate for the trailer...

In any event, this game continues to look awesome.  I know I've said this before, but damn...S-E really needs to localize this in some form.

Taken from a cam on the TGS show floor, but still: 10 minutes of actual gameplay.

Looks pretty great.

Except battery life.

Vita set to minimum equals 3DS set to gas guzzler.

How do you figure?  The claim I heard was 3 to 5 hours for the Vita.  That's about the same as the 3DS.  Granted neither one is good...
2633  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Final Fantasy X HD confirmed for PSVita and PS3 on: September 14, 2011, 12:05:13 PM
No F-ing way am I doing those mini-games ever again. I could see myself playing it again, but the terrible memories just make me not want to.

Warning, the follow blurb contains language which may not be suitable for younger children:
Chocobo race? RAAAAAAAAAAAARRGFUCKINGBIRD
Lightning dodge? AAAAAAAAAAAAARGSHITNOFUCKFUCKFUCK
Butterfly hunt? Kimari sucks balls, why am I even doing this??!
Cactuar Hunt: OK, closer... closer...  clo-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAFAWK!
Blitzball? ZZZzzzzzzzzZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Blitzball hours later? Jechshot2! Jechshot2! Jechshot2! 34-0 win!

Man, I didn't do any of that crap when I played FFX.  Why do you guys torture yourselves like that?

I will bravely default on debt!

In all seriousness, I like the look of the game, but why the hell are they sticking AR crap in an RPG?  Do not want.

almost nothing of interest....... *sad face* perhaps that worldwide recession is starting to take its toll....

?  It hasn't started yet.  Let's at least save the doom and gloom until after the fact.  There are still quite a few unannounced titles.
2637  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: What's the haps? on: September 12, 2011, 10:35:00 PM
Maybe if you ignore the sodium content.

I make my own sauce, anyway.  That's another thing that keeps pretty well so I only have to do it once in a while.

I don't really have time to cook

Bullocks.  I can make a well-balanced, healthy and delicious meal in under half an hour and have leftovers that I can reheat for another couple of meals if I'm really pressed for time.  Or sometimes on the weekends I'll make a big enough batch of something so that I can eat leftovers for the rest of the week.

I refuse to believe that there is anyone out there who really doesn't have time to cook.  You may not have the desire to cook or the skill to cook, but I'm sure you could find the time if you actually tried.  I often don't get home until 8 or 9pm but somehow I still manage to find time to cook.

I'm with Starmongoose here.  Those frozen dinners taste awful, are awful for you, and cost an awful lot.  At least make some pasta or something.  That takes barely any time at all.
2639  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: New Tales countdown site on: September 12, 2011, 04:48:45 PM
Which will not, judging how Bandai Namco screw us all the time.

Let's see, we got Vesperia, we're getting Graces f, we're getting Abyss 3DS.  They haven't announced anything for Xillia but given that it's the biggest Tales game yet I certainly wouldn't bet against it.  Other than handheld games, what have we really missed lately?

OMG, Namco Bandai is screwing us so much.  How dare they!

Now one can certainly complain about how long they're taking to do it.  And the fact that this might be a handheld game certainly does lower the odds.  But I think most of this whining about how we don't get any Tales games is pretty unjustified.
2640  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Final Fantasy Type 0 on: September 12, 2011, 01:31:03 AM
So apparently Type-0 will be available on PSN.  Why is that interesting?  Well, it's a 2 UMD game and in the past there have been claims that there are technical issues with 2 UMD games on PSN.  I think this is the first time anyone will be getting a downloadable version of a 2 UMD game.

This is also good because that version should also work with Vita, and this improves the odds of seeing some sort of release overseas.
