6181  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Next 10 years of Mega Man being discussed by "Top Men" at Capcom on: January 31, 2012, 09:19:20 PM
I never understood why Capcom never put X on some of their newer fighting games. Sure, they did put Zero and Volnutt on Tatsunoko but a ton of people wanted X too. Heck, He isn't even in UMvC3.

But this... is both great and terrible.

I originally assumed it was to hold him back for DLC or for the next version (if it ever happened) to drive sales for those, but now I'm not so sure.

I always found it was the "fondness" for classic Megaman that kept it from moving forward that way.  Shame, I agree.

I love the twisted "dark mothergoose" style of storytelling.  I'd love to play. :D

You argument is compelling....
6184  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Grandia II is kinda.... on: January 31, 2012, 09:08:23 PM
The romance was sappy, but I, like a tool, liked it... D:

The twists are often, the music catchy... but like a tumor.

And things get pretty stupid/weird by the end...

But man... I'd *kill* for another battle system like Grandia's.  I love the combination of active and wait battle system, and how that weird little gap between setting an action and actually doing it be so important to strategy!

No, Xenoblade is just that good. (j)RPGs are still dead as a whole, though.

I will take that as a joke post.........otherwise a vein in my head might pop

Few and far between then...

Your gamer card is dead... D:

Lots a good sheet here and there.

Where ya been?  Sports games??  CoD?? :D
6187  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Xenoblade on: January 31, 2012, 03:29:46 PM
Sounds like the games I'm getting in the next few months will last me over a year. x_X

Yay?  RPGs are back??

Capcom can eat my ass for what they did to mega man. I'll play the other games like resident evil and such, but what they did with him in sfxt really has me questioning that purchase now.

Notice how his name, in Japanese, is "megaman", not "rockman". :P
Obvious jab.  I think it's funny, but obviously a gimmick to lure sales.  Funny how it's working both ways with fans.

Work at 8, too much caffeine. Fuck it, gonna drink tap water and listen to The Breeders.

I can't even tell you how many times I've "detoxed" that same way since university  ...sans Breeders, though.

999.

I'm using an "Ending Flowchart" FAQ for so I can make the most of the endings.
Got a "bad end"....and how!!

Poor Snake and all... but Fucking Clover went nuts with a goddamned axe!!  I'm sad it ended as soon as Junpei was gone, I would have loved to see what happened to Lo and Ace.

Awesome you can fast forward text in NG+. x(

I get setting the atmosphere of a scene, but some of the emotional chatter goes on way too long.
"Leave me behind"
"No!!"
"You must"
"No!"

"Its awkwardness is meant to suggest the capacity of adaptation brought by the modularity of the medium we use that voids any application of definition of specificity to the spaces the works co-habit —and therefore plasticises part of the way the work is read by the viewer."

I hate when people write like that:

The medium of the "art" lacks specificity and is modular in nature, plasticiZing (or changing ) the way the piece of shit is interpreted.

Is sort of my take

That's about the gist of what my mum and I could piece together after a few slow re-readings heh.

We think we also understood that it was hard to really finalize any sort of "end-meaning", I think (I may be off)

(Yeah, I hate these assholes that write like this.... why?  why why why why why???)

I need help for a paper I'm writing.  I feel it's the key to understanding some piece of crappy modern art, but I don't understand this sentence...

"Its awkwardness is meant to suggest the capacity of adaptation brought by the modularity of the medium we use that voids any application of definition of specificity to the spaces the works co-habit —and therefore plasticises part of the way the work is read by the viewer."

Work's of "art" in question, just in case you want context.
I have no clue what it means, and I feel like a doughnut for asking here.

Thoughts?

That sounds like a brilliant story and the formula for Bond-gold!!

I think we're on to something we can pitch, certainly if they make half the crap they do into movies, our story can be superb.  Let's save GYM.

And yes!!!  A fanclub... at last!  Population of Diceland: 2.

F- for tense inconsistency.

Still more than what I expect out of FFXIII-2s script. =P

I'm writing a paper meanwhile.  All my prose and grammar and focus is typing that.  My escapade with Agent... was because my mind is melting from the bullshit I'm writing.

It was in this strange moment that D. tnegA, whom I had been spending a lovely afternoon with, had decided to change the pace.  Things changed in mere moments.  D. tnegA stood up, withdrew a gun from what felt like out of nowhere from his front, and another from a sock as he lifted his left leg and shot at someone in the distance.  Shocked by this sudden outburst, I turn around before I have the time to think what is happening, and see an assailant collapsing who himself had a machine gun and machete drawn out.

"What is happening?!" I yelled out.

"Dice," D. tnegA said, "There is no time to explain.  Come with me, we have to save Gotham York Metroville from nuclear Holocaust.  Trust me... my true identity is.... the infamous Agent D."

I gasped, but under the threat of fire at the cafe, I hesitantly took a step forward with the super agent, Agent D.
