I plan to game and draw in my final senile years.  I don't get much time for that now, so it works out.
Thanks Mesh,  I'll happily forget the bad things, hopefully keep a notebook for the good.

I know it's sappy and silly, but thanks for all the encouragement here, fellas.

Is it sad/bad that I consider this place a part of my social life?  After 6,000 posts though, it feels as though it would be weird not to.  I still consider forums being half of just "talking to yourself" though.

IIRC I think where you set your "map" up at the beginning of the game can affect which quests you can get and can't... which I call a bunch of bull, but, hokay.

Oh, that only affects two or maybe three quests (two actually quests and I think one side-event-thingy). Unless you pick a spot that doesn't have enough room for all of the lands.

Glad to hear that then.
...Never knew you were the Legend of Mana connoisseur.

I also want to add that strategy in normal RPGs isn't really as in-depth either when it comes to using your "powerhouse" character to just attack with their strongest, have a mage heal when necessary, another to provide support, etc.

I think it's about the level of strategy we're talking, and if we can agree to disagree, I think they're kind of in different leagues of battle system, not many standard RPGs let you "choose roles" on the fly and allow that kind of flexibility between characters.

Anyways.  If there is any certainty, it's how goddamn contentious "Final Fantasy 13" is when it's brought up.

I'd be interested if that said "PSN" instead of "Steam" :(

Paypal is super simple and easy for everyone.  It lets people wire money really quickly and it gives you their address so you don't have to ask.  Only problem can be getting it from Paypal-to-BankAccount (iirc, they have a service for that; but you can easily just use the digital money as an "online gift card" so to speak).

I don't even see your elipsis-abuse any more, Klyde. :P Got used to you.

Attack on Titan

Jesus Christ this comic is intense.  Are you reading it?  Why aren't you reading it???
The terribly grotesque nature of the story and plot features what is nothing short of psychologically frail human beings that make the plot and characters of Neon-Gen: Evangelion look like a bunch of pussies

That is a bold and enticing statement! Certainly enough to grab my attention. I will go and look into this "titans" and report back... and I'll do so with even LESS ellipses next time!! progress my friends.... progress...  :)

I won't lie, at first the frequent elipses drove me a bit nuts at first... [dot dot dot], but I got used to them, and I kinda like them.  It's like a Klyde-Trademark, a quality you just come to expect.  Nah, keep doing it.

And please give Attack on Titan a read!!  I'd love to gush with someone about it, then brag (or hate on it) here to get others interested!

Don't be sad Dice, if you're sad, then I'm gonna be sad. And if I get sad, then Yoda's gonna get sad.....and if yoda gets sad, then goosey is sure to get sad...

You're gonna make us all cry :(

I won't lie, I was pretty sad haha
But that post made me giggle. x)

Thanks Agent.  And, reading your posts, try not to push it too hard at the gym.  If you hurt something, you'll be out from it for a while.  Oh, and I was in class and couldn't respond, but your "fart" incident when you were doing your weights made me "lol" -- fo reals.
6277  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: PS Plus is awesome on: March 25, 2013, 09:43:55 PM
I hated how gross and drab everything felt in Infamous.  The second one was cool though and it gets better as you go.  But...eh.
IIRC, quite a few of the Ass Creeds are free as well.

And yeah, I hear PS+ is grand.  I'm sure they fixed it up when they realized their service wasn't worth the [somewhat large] fee for what it actually offered.

Fuck...

I just found out I failed a test I thought I did well on.  I don't even know how this happened.  I got a 48%, which while isn't *terribly* bad it is certainly not one of my prouder moments.

I'm gonna go curl up in a corner.

Every test in my life has always ended in an unpredictable result. I fear tests :P. Tests I think I do well in, I do bad, tests I think I did poorly in, I do good. I've given up trying to predict or even feel confident with these things.

Heh, thanks Mongoosey.  I'm a bit bummed right now, but it always helps to know other people are in the same boat, always does.
I've had a real shit time this semester too, nothing hurts efforts than thinking they might now pay off effectively.

Thanks. :)  And yeah, you're right... I can't predict marks anymore.  Except when it comes to math... I just know I'll do bad and maybe cry once because I'm a pussy when it comes to math..... D'oh.

Anyone know if there's an "Easy" mode?  I want the game, but my lack of time with school, hobbies, and the fact I suck at FPS's makes me just wanna enjoy the experience without too-too much hassle.

I got the "One Tin Soldier Rides Away" song stuck in my head now.  SPANKS.

Curious endgame spoiler hitting the grapevines:
Code:
Apparently has some "12 Monkeys" feel to it... we'll see if that actually turns out true
6281  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Random and Amazing Pictures, Please! on: March 25, 2013, 01:48:17 PM
No, but there's a different sort of connection when I sit and watch a movie or if I pick a character that I personally control for 10-20 hours. If the game is fun and the co-op is there (hello!) then that's fine. To me there's a line between cartoonish and pointlessly garish.

Then that's just personal preference getting in the way.  Quite frankly, most female super hero outfits annoy me for the same reason of being pointlessly ostentatious.
While I'm not to keen on excessive "boob-ing" myself, especially with how Vanillaware handled it in the past, I am thrilled with Dragon Crown's depiction of including fit, thin, and voluptuous body types.

I hope you can see the other part of it though: monster design and even the animation of the characters is really out of this world.

Also, in my four years of art history, I've come to the conclusion many artists are either weird or just plain perverted (NSFW!!...but hilarious ancient art).

6282  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Random and Amazing Pictures, Please! on: March 25, 2013, 01:37:15 PM
The rest are just as caricatured.
It's a cartoon.  No one complains about Jessica Rabbit ruining "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?".

And again, I think the developers were trying to keep it balanced between boobs [witch], muscles [amazon], and the more "averaged-out" elf.
6283  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Random and Amazing Pictures, Please! on: March 25, 2013, 01:27:47 PM
Either way though, the Amazon is still fucking ridiculous.

...And you genuinely feel bothered by that? Because I don't see the problem here.

Me neither, it's very different.  And the men are just as ridiculously proportioned (the Fighter's arms are like twice the width of his head, and the Dwarf is clearly 'roided out).

Ooooh noooo a girl with muscles.  I know they overdo it a bit there, but what else will happen when you swing around a giant weapon or do physically strenuous work?  If you go to a Cirque do Soleil show, you'll see some of the women have a proper six-pack.  Not sure if it's because they find it attractive (but that's besides the point), but its just something that happen as an occupational circumstance.  Quite frankly, I admire they went such a route -- who the fuck else has?  Anime-like games in general are overall just *way* too satisfied having a little 90lb girl flailing a gigantic weapon the rest of the time.
It's balanced out anyways; the Witch is meant as a 200% sex-pot (the fact you fellas are actually finding HER ridiculous is humorous almost; quite frankly it's how I've felt about the over-machismo'd Street Fighter roster for YEARS -- those guys have muscles on top of muscles), while the Elf really doesn't stand out anywhere (except featuring a bit of Chun-Li thigh).

I hate trying to sneak through the Gerudo fortress.

Sneaking? Pull out your bow and murder them all.

Haha oh believe me, it's the only thing I enjoyed in raiding the fortress.
I just hate those "back to start" parts in games when you make a fuck up.

And Mesh:  Good to know about plot details.  IIRC I think where you set your "map" up at the beginning of the game can affect which quests you can get and can't... which I call a bunch of bull, but, hokay.
And yeah, like you said, unless you jack up the difficulty, a lot of these points feel moot anyways because the game isn't terribly difficult.
