FF9's FMV's.... look weird.  Maybe it's the age, but the CG models look off. I guess as much as I adore Zidane, his giant head of hair always sat weirdly with me (the face is like 1/3 of the head, the rest is HAIR, long beutiful hair).  And it usually helps me sleep better at night to just say Kuja is a woman and be done with doing this every time s/he comes on.

Ah well, Brahne has kicked the bucket in a pretty nasty end. I don't know how Garnet mustered the love for her after several murder attempts on taking her daughter's life...but hokay.  Meanwhile, I love Brahne's all-blonde women soldiers -- clearly part of the Aryan-race mentality.

I wish I was as good with words as Ashton.

I want the good doctor to tell me my story so summed up and eloquently.

Dice was in my city and I didn't know about it?!

Did you at least visit Nintendo world? You're a gamer, It's one of 2 spots every gamer should see in new york.

I was actually gonna ask if anyone was gonna be in/around Manhattan at that time. :(

I did check out Nintendo World.  Adored the giant Wold Link/Midna statue, bought a $10 baseball cap with the Triforce on it (it was raining), but I had to put down an adorable Kirby shirt because it was only in Kids' sizes. D:
Sadly, one week off from the KH:3D event there. :P
Ah well.  Still an awesome trip.

It's probably a way to ensure they break even and get more money to cover the fucking 8 years it's been in production. :P

Some of the parts are really loose though, I think when I find a pose I like I'm just gonna glue it all together (I'm sure some figure-tard would be offended by this somewhere).

This gave me a good laugh.  Just remember, you already committed the ultimate figure-tard sin by removing it from the package!

Garbaged too. Bent, folded, tossed into recycling.  I'M SAVING D'PLANET.
But true.  Haha Ah well, most of the people who would buy these toys are too poor to buy them, maybe if I get sick of them, I can offer it at a price they can actually afford. :P

I didn't like Karol's outfit... but by god I thought he was so cute.  He was a tank in battle, but I liked that scared-y-cat side of him, and his out-burst love confession to Nan later on.

Love the story too. Wish I could play Vesperia, because Yuri sounds awesome.
Add to that Vesparia's bizarrely random battle system

"random"?  How so?

I gotta echo that.  It's strange and sort of stiff to start, but I thought the flow was good and again used a range of characters each with strengths and weaknesses.

I'm a big Estelle fan myself, so I gotta question the hate on that.  I thought she was sweet, but not cavity-causing-anime-sweet. I liked how she was book smart, a kind of cute take on the tomboy princess trope.

where he leaned forward to pay the taxi driver and, as usual, my boyfriend's cell fell out, and all of out pictures were gone.

Damn.  Dice noods all over the internets now?

Only a cleavage shot this time, not the full boob.  But yeah. :P

The latest addition to my collection:

Haha! I just got her too, she's wonderful, the colours are really something (the sort-of rainbow scheme of orange-to-yellow-to-green jells really well together).  Some of the parts are really loose though, I think when I find a pose I like I'm just gonna glue it all together (I'm sure some figure-tard would be offended by this somewhere).

I did get the Samus figma, which is 100% brilliant looking.  I always felt, and this figure confirms it, Samus' head would be really tiny inside...

I also found, for HALF the price online inside some Toronto anime store, the Final Fantasy creatures set.  It's 5 minifigs: Bahamut Sin (FF7:AC), that evil summon from FF12 with the lady on his wing, Valefor (FFX), Brothers (FF8), and -- my favorite -- Terra on top of her Magitek Armor.
These are pretty damn nicely painted given their scale.

Desert Walker: MGS figures, though not in my interest, have always been really well made.  Go for it, post it when ya got it!

Mongoosey: happy to hear you and Hugh are doing so well, the stories you tell really makes you guys a great couple. :)

NYC the last 3 days.  It was my first vacation in about TEN. YEARS. (and it was only 3 days, a weekend, long)
But now I've become pretty determined to make another (WEEKLONG) vacation happen even if I gotta pay (my boyfriend was kind enough to dip a LOT of money into this, I brought...like $200..CDN).  We had an amazing time, I'd love to go back. Everything was perfect, till the LAST moment, where he leaned forward to pay the taxi driver and, as usual, my boyfriend's cell fell out, and all of out pictures were gone.  We came back, and he spent another $300 to get a new one.  Sad.  A shame, but everything else was absolutely perfect.

Next.  Muthafucken Disneyland.

I blame the writing of the games as of late as a good part of that.

FFIX was brilliant in that sense.
Then FFX kicked in.

What a waste if it's true.
I don't feel I'd be able to play 13-3. It'd show a weird sense of priorities on their part. But also, Kotaku is the only one reporting this so far, I'm kinda skeptical.

Yeah, I've been taking advantage of the download thing while I can...

The battles were actually a lot cooler looking than I thought they'd be, some parts looked pretty seamless too.
Didn't dig the awkward third person running around though.
6285  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tales of PlayStation(s) revealed on: July 19, 2012, 03:43:46 PM
Tales of Legendia is the one that looks like a PS1 game, and even it doesn't look that bad. It just looks really budget. The only real way in which Abyss is a step back is that it doesn't have cel shading. That's it. Graces looks kind of blah for a PS3 game, especially considering Eternal Sonata, but it's a remake of a Wii game, so I'll give it some slack.

Say what?!  Did you see the scenery in that game?  I thought it looked better than 90% of games

Only problem is it's the only of the prev. gen titles that didn't "zoom in" or show any dynamic shots during story events.

Abyss looked awful.  But it got the body proportions most accurate.  I thought Symphonia looked way better if not for the fact the character models all looked like Fisher Price toys.

Problem with the series, and this wasn't fixed till Graces' motion-capture, was the stoic animation. That's one reason Abyss looked awful, the cutscenes were very wooden and quick.

I always found Tales series did backgrounds to a stellar degree though, that's why I've always loved their graphics anyways.
