Yeah my bad, didn't think out the FFX reference. I'll argue from time to time something decent comes up. The new Musashi look annoyed the piss outta me. Seymour blows balls.
I always thought Yuna was pretty. Before she 180'd for a more clubbin' outfit (looks alright, but not on, what was, a goddamn priestess about to sacrifice herself for the world).
Umm.... The SO4 was pretty unmemorable. At least it didn't suffer from oversized jewellery on most of the characters and they actually tried for a theme. I remember some Atelier games had designs suited for a toy bin.

I'm gonna kinda barge in and say Tetsuya Nomura's dirty hands are all over the games lately... Not that he's a bad designer, it just feel easy to tell when he isn't trying as hard.
The FFX cast looked bright, colourful, and thoughout... the increasing span of KH characters look like realistic dolls with too much hair gel.

I dont hate my life, but I am stressed by it. 24 hours is never enough.
I need to assure a high mark for another program (and by high, I mean "A" or higher) and am taking night school to obtain a credit for that programs requirement and then have two days of work thrown in on days off.

As game costs rise up, it's probably more difficult to make more risky decisions.
Look at the Phoenix Wright series. It's as simple as it comes, but definitely took some risk to bring a novel-styled game over to the States.
(bad example, im tired, go away)

As much as I loved SO2, I don't think I could go back to it, simply 'cause of the fact that casting spells paused and disrupted the flow of the battles. Meteor Swarm, Southern Cross, Explosion, and every other slow-ass spell... I don't think I could sit through those again. I'd get VERY agitated this time around. :P
Aside from that though, it's was alright. I kinda preferred SO3 though, just 'cause of the battle flow. And Maria. <3
I found melee fighters usually out-damaged mages (as in most action-rpg-type battles, and well, tri-ace games) anyways. Never a problem for me. I turned off most of Celine's spells when I had to have in party.

To top it off, the dungeons take a long time to get through.
Would not be so bad if they implemented a save anywhere option or check point system or system state option... Problem is: they're not. =(((( Star Ocean 4 iis worse.... I don't know why everyone hated Star Ocean 3 (sans the story element; gameplay was far more comfortable and, to a better extent, more complicated. Item Creation required some effort, and became almost mandatory at some parts (in regards to difficulty)

The gameplay isn't really good either, there's nothing special to the slow battles and the item creation is pretty simple this time. The camera isn't great, the game's environments are mixed, the controls for movement aren't the best. It's a pretty big disappointment from tri-Ace.
Pretty much that. They did a lot of "good" but didn't do it "right". The graphics were stunning, the music was great.... but I know some people will hate the doll-like CGs and Sakuraba's "repetitive" musical stylings. Battle was complicated, and sometimes stacking bonuses could be too much work (which becomes necessary for some of the difficulty spikes that game throws you in to). Some characters are quite unbalanced or annoying. Game mechanics were often either too simple, or too fussy (who got the extra endings? Pain in the ass). Unfortunately, it is also riddled with waaay too many anime-esque shinanigans that really destroy the quality of whatever enjoyable parts of the game. To top it off, the dungeons take a long time to get through. Another topic discussed sequels on handhelds: and this title in the series proves that its a good idea to be a bit more old-school. I LOVE(d?) tri-ace....but man, the buttload of awkward that came with this game still gives me shivers.

Eugh, not fond of the art. "Nostalgic" in a bad way to me.
Umm, main guy wants to live up to adventurer dad, main girl can't recall shit and is being chased, magical witch girl, and a guy named "Pad". Consider me sceptic. Looks like it may try to be one part Skies of Arcadia and one part old-school RPG (and look at how far that's gotten games lately).

i don like them, good topic. can t type, popsicle in hand
i find they take away from previous games' ability to be prety extraordinary and epic. i don think we buy 30"+ tv screens to not feel a "wow" factor whens its blown up to the size of a room.

You know, Dice, winter is the one thing that makes me reconsider contacts. For the non-bespectacled among you, I'll just say that scarf + glasses = no more vision-style fog.
...suppose hey don't make prescription snow goggles then, huh? Last Southern Ontario Winer was a mess, it was the whole "walking through snow as high as your knee" bit your grandpapa's tell ya about.
