Dang. Such is life. :/

Was it just an introduction course or something specific?

Intro. D:

Goddamit, Lard.  You probably could have tutored my ass brilliantly when I took a Linguistics class.  I dropped it for shitty teachers teaching a weird subject. D:
(You're probably laughing and mwa-ha-ha-ing to yourself right now, since you got the fancy credentials, I'm sure the subject is a breeze to you. :S  )

And...

I've been replaying 8 myself (and 7) after specifically forgetting, especially the former, whether or not it was good or not.

And Zeron, I like a whole bunch of shit nobody here likes.  I'm on of maybe 3 people in the Northern Americas who [textually] supports Star Ocean 4.  And I think I'm the only one who'll say that Zelda: Twilight Princess is their favorite. I like other "crap" too.

I am going to be teaching at the university as part of one of my classes this semester. I am excited.

What subject?

That's pretty exciting stuff!  What subject???  Sounds pretty cool!  Please be one of the cooler/better profs! ;)

I'm just gonna say... I'm the most tired girly in the worldy.

zzzzzz....

EDIT: In class, using up the rest of my bandwidth downloading stuff. Thanks UofT!

I watched Sherlock too, dammit.  I wanted to post first so I looked less of a schmuck.

Anyways, thanks Yoda, butt:

I'm glad this turned out so well, I was kind of skeptical about it at first, but given Star's extremely favourable, and threatening (by Judge S., Judy) review, I caved and loved it. :)

I want Sherlock (Cumberpatch!! Amazing name) on my lap.  Meow.
6353  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Chrono Cross first impressions on: January 17, 2012, 11:56:27 PM
I'd also think Chrono Cross was cynical if it didn't have that part where David Bowie cures racism with a kickass guitar solo.

LOL, that was so incredibly BAD it almost made my ears bleed. It doesn't help matters that one of the characters comments that it sounds like "Broadway"... LIKE BROADWAY, a term derived from a street in New York City on planet Earth. Sorry, but that just BROKE suspension of disbelief.

I'm probably alone in thinking that the bulk of the music was absolute crap. Most people go on and on about how Mitsuda is a genius. I think his best soundtrack was Chrono Trigger, and it all goes downhill from there. There were a couple really cool tunes in CC like Fort Dragonia, but I really despise the overworld music, the main battle music (wow, probably only Legend of Dragoon beats it for crappiest battle music), and a large percentage of the other music. So much of the style is that fakey Celtic new age crap that sounds like music from Titanic, I universally hate that style, so I'm a bit biased.

Anyway, I've probably said too much (runs for cover).
You are definitely alone in hating CC's soundtrack. It's one of the few perfect game OSTs. I don't even know how you can hate the overworld music when they're remixes of CT tracks.

A few tracks aside, I'm inclined to agree -- it's certainly one of my favorites.  In terms of "bad", that definitely goes to the battle theme as one of them; unfortunately since you hear it all the goddamn time.  I actually find Chrono Trigger's is incredibly overrated, character themes aside. x_s

FF12 would have been better in the same environment if it was a MMO.  Works for that stuff, but the gameplay was some of the most boring I've ever played mainly because it went on unrelentingly.  Not like you're chatting in between it either.  And random treasure chests?  Really?  Fan-freaking-tastic... There was a lack of focus there that works for the MMOs, but sure make single-player dungeons unintuitive when it's just you.
6355  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Worst Final Fantasy game (No online games) on: January 17, 2012, 06:47:06 PM
FF8 was the longest RPG ever.  Fucking battles spun around the environment for 10 seconds before things even got started, and it took another 10 before someone attacked (Quistis is a fox and all, but she swings her whip around 3 times too many).

Point is: FF9 = love.

Three terms:

  • I like doing as much as I can before the end.
  • It's usually a deal-breaker once those credits roll, so I like a post-game dungeon.
  • Also, the more I like the game, the more I'm inclined to do shit that doesn't matter.

I'm kinda disappointed so many of you are on a plot-basis for game enjoyment.  As far as I'm concerned, there are too many bad game plots to really focus on just the story.  While I agree a good plot is best for the overall enjoyment, it's not what makes it if, like a "game" is, it's not fun to play.

I hope you guys aren't walking into 13-2 expecting a good plot, I think that fact ran off as soon as they said the plot would shift from some muddled-fantasy story to an anything-goes, "because time travel did-it", plot.  Furthermore, it clearly shows a lack of focus, dedication, and even love for their initial "world" and setting.

Person no.

PS: this topic makes you sound desperate.
You loner, loser, and complicated wreck.
