6346  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: The NEW Game Journal on: March 18, 2013, 05:14:57 PM
Chrono Trigger is complete (again). Space Channel 5  part 2 is done. Mario 64 is on its way to completion (again).

Beginning the Skyward Sword and waiting for Discworld Noir to come in the mail (really looking forward to Discworld Noir!).

Nothing to look forward to in Skyward Sword... Amazing the game managed to make a character more intrusive than Navi.  I actually think the coolness of her tech-voice was what was supposed to make her incessant yakking tolerable.

I played a bit more Ayesha.  I think I fucked up a lot of events.  This game is so, so random... -_-;;
I'm determined to do well though

In regards to picking NON-Starter Pokemon in my roster: The Pokemon can't look like a little pussy ass bitch.

I mean, seriously.  WHy would I want this over Nidoking, Gyrados, or Onyx?

Could this be? The stolen treasure?

Quality dialogue, there. Or translation.

Sounds like a line that harks back to FF1...

Ah well.  Lovely graphics, questionable fashion.

To Dice:
Ayesha is definitely more world focused than just about every traditional Atelier title to date.  That's one of the main themes of the game: truth and understanding of the world around you.  They've put a larger emphasis on lore and background.  I like the change, and I think this game might be going in a direction you prefer.  All I have to say is, as warned on the previous page, you really need to to Keith's set of events before beating the final boss.

Cyril: Events feel so totally random in this game, I have no idea if I'm on track for Keith or not....  I might do another playthrough with a guide (I'm just less than half way through in Year 2 and I don't have Juris yet... I heard the game can be beaten by Year 1 on a good playthrough).

I liked Totori's outfit enough, but I didn't get the semi-see-through plastic-looking dress thing going on.  I adore her A2 outfit, the darker blue really suited.

Eusis:  I thought Iris-1 was good enough.  It certainly felt downhill after that.  And yeah, I'm going on the basic idea that the developers get better at the thing they do.  I'm saying a new Iris-like game that's hopefully a little less...odd in certain ways.

Dice- I smell a Pokemon/ love adventure crossover.  Hey, if they could cross over Pokemon and Nobunaga's ambition, why not Pokemon and Memories Off with your cute girl designs of Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie?

Oh man, I smell a kinda creepy/awesome idea that has anthropomorphic pokemon that you can hook up with.  Poké-nerd fantasies can come true!!!!

...I'd totally eat-up a real Sandslash.  His "hair" would be awesome.

Also, anyone ever heard of Attack on Titan?? It's becoming an anime too soon... I dunno, this series sounds like it warrants a checking-out. :D

Hey, I pointed out that show when the lineup for the Spring was first announced.  Believe I called it something like a "must see".  But nobody ever listens to me...if you did you would be watching Blast of Tempest by now ;)

Haha, sorry Kev, posts go pretty quick on this part, and I guess I'm so used to seeing such typical run-of-the-mill "average high school student" shows that I have trouble listening to an anime recommendation.  I'll keep an eye out for more of yours, I think you're a cool feller on the forums anyhow.

Love how the trailer is two minutes long and gives no actual information about the game.

...wait, I don't love that.

That's japan for ya!  They spend the first minute of a "teaser" touting the long legacy of the series, and the other minute showing off what can be described as "nothing important".

...I like the original Atelier formula and all, but anyone ever wish they'd try the more RPG-oriented route again like they did for Iris??  I mean that insofar of a more in-depth battle system and bigger emphasis on story/world than characters.

BLATANT SELF-PROMOTING: Please visit my Dev Account for a lovely anthropomorphic version of the X&Y starters~  Lov ya~!

The whole Pokemon culture for who is better is amazing to me.  Game-wise, I find it too easy to really care about who I pick, most can get you by, and you're pretty well off if you main three of varied elements.  But I hear head-to-head it gets really intense.

Kotoura was all serious-ish this week. :(
Anyone else think the female detective was Manabe's mum?  They're a lot alike!

Also, anyone ever heard of Attack on Titan?? It's becoming an anime too soon... I dunno, this series sounds like it warrants a checking-out. :D

EDIT: Yes.  Yes it is becoming an anime, it has a pretty awesome PV too

I choose the one I like most aesthetically.
6357  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Atelier Ayesha on: March 17, 2013, 01:17:12 PM
I wouldn't mind another Iris-like series with a bigger emphasis on story and battle.  I think I've skipped through about 80% of cutscenes in this game, and probably the bigger shame is the impressive world they build up but don't really dive into...

New trailer for A15

She looks more "dusk-like" than Ayesha (almost matching the sky colours on the Ayesha boxart).  I don't really dig on pigtails though.... And yet ponytails are surprisingly rare on these girls.

Another photo of the people from popular memes.  At least it also contains a meme, so it's cool and kinda funny. :D

URL says it all; and these shots are always ceaselessly pretty.

I need to live this life.... D:
...Actually no, I'd be too much of a pussy to try. Dx

Punny, and awesome.
6359  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently Viewed Movies Episode 2: The Vampire Bites Back on: March 17, 2013, 12:29:00 AM
^ Eugh.  THose are one of those movies I've been disgustingly curious about; but because A-N-Y-O-N-E I ask about it says "Um, yeah, it's ok", and I avoid it.
The biggest plus I hear is about Kat Dennings and her ample bossom.

I watched Quest for Camelot.  Y'know -- that animated Warner Brothers movie from 1998 with a ton of talent but in a shitty movie.  The premise is cool enough, but everything else is hilariously bad and suffers from trying too hard.  I don't get why the leader heroine looks more realistic than just about everyone else in the film, her love interest especially who has a sort of blocky face.  And no song was worse than in their "romance duet" when she and he (a blind hermit) sing "I see the world through your eyes" -- which I guess is meaningful because he's blind or something......idunno...
Gary Oldman was a waste of talent here...And to go back to the poor Blind Hermit, Cary Ewles in NO WAY matched his singing-voice; adding to the ha-ha's.

I'm a big fan of animated films, I guess that's why I took the dive on this one.  But I am looking forward to more about Disney's "Frozen".  They *finally* have a teaser concept art image.
6360  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently watched Episodes of TELEVISION BOX offerings! on: March 17, 2013, 12:20:01 AM
I was cooking today and caught My Little Pony on.  I decided to give it a watch, see what the fuss, fandom, and fanatics is all about.
I didn't fall in love, but I *get it*.
It's just a light, fluffy show where nothing too-too terrible happens.  It's cute, girlie, happy, magical, and silly.  Essentially, there's little to hate -- except [gasp!] the fanatics themselves.

The Office almost warranted a spin-off featuring Dwight... after the episode "The Farm", I'm glad they pulled that idea away.  Either way, the show is wrapping up his character arch, Dwight is the proud owner of a bigger farm.

Parks and Rec was fun. I liked seeing "Leslie's porno", and I like when she and Ron have their moments together; their relationship is the epitome of how "opposites attract".  And oh man...Jean Rafio's sister... weird.

Archer was a lot of fun.  After a slow start this season, its been picking up a lot a lot!  Some good action, and I loved the way Archer's "daring rescue" was animated.  Pam and Kreiger[?] (that doctor/scientist dude with the virtual anime girl) continues to be disgusting (I think he fucked that pig for one... Pam's impersonation of Lana was spot on).  Also there's moose in mousse.

I want to watch 1600 Pen...I had a crush on Bill Pullman when I was young... and now too, but he's gotten a bit old, and probably smells like old people smell.  ....
