Watching a documentary during the most boring class I have ever taken.  What the teacher says in two hours of class I read in one hour.  Not only is her lecture based EXACTLY on the textbook, maybe with one or two unique points, but she fills classes with "umm" and "aaaahs".

Meanwhile, I made another observation during this documentary vid: why do Brits love getting funny-guy hosts for all of em?  Haha

Heh, hard to appreciate a comedy genre series with jokes you can't understand. :P

Anyways, I thought it was alright.  I remember reading the Azumanga Daioh manga, they had to "write over" jokes just to make the flow better (again, with an appendix in the back to reference whatever),

Are you talking about VC1 or VC2?  I remember seeing some advertising for VC2, but there is literally nothing that I can recall for VC1.  I only knew the game existed at all because of previews and the like (i.e., third parties who took independent initiative to find games to talk about, rather than being paid to do so).

I'm the opposite, I barely saw nothing [actually] for neither title.  And while VC one is the talk of town, helping its success, no one talks about the 2nd titles.

And Keeper... you were talking about PR campaigns???  Maybe it's a States thing?

Either way.  Aside from GameFaqs or IGN or whatever (and maybe whatever gaming mags that still exist), can't say gaming adverts are still that common.  TV specifically, the only ones that do seem to get it are the game-of-the-year types.

I believe advertising can work wonders even for a shit product (hell, look at some of the multi-million dollar grossing blockbusters).  But it's funny how it works, still all the advertising won't help something people just aren't genuinely interested in.

A shame since I heard good things about the 3rd.  Then again, only so much about this series I actually liked... most detrimental to me really not too put out about more titles from this series was fitting stupid anime tropes in an anime/game about war.  I hated the 2nd title for being about "school life" and all that crap.

Der Jerm makes a good point... aside from Sonic, Sega is horrible at advertising other titles.

Kinda besides the point.  He's stating *his* view from a *western* opinion. =/
And it's true... it *is very Japanese* humour that can make it tough to love at times.  It's like when you need to be told why a joke was funny when you didn't get it.

I watched it a bit too.  It wasn't my cup of tea, but a friend of mine was crazy for it.  Some of the tropes were a bit too much for me (I found the robot-schtik with the giant turn-key not wanting to reveal she's a robot was stupid), but some parts were extreme, and stuff I'd never thought would be done.

Fired it up for the first time today. It's really beautiful, it's rare to see a console game with such clean IQ, probably native 720p with 4MSAA.
Did anyone get the dlc characters? At what point do they join the party?

I think you need a certain licence level.

Salt isn't bad for you. Too much salt (much like anything) is bad for you.

I love salt.  I love coke.  And by god do I like Mac n Cheese when I'm home alone sometimes.  I hate people who scoff at it for being unhealthy... I get annoyed when they're like "Eugh, you drink coca-cola? You know that [some ugly fact about coke use]"

I miss my red hair. Stupid job.

What happened!? D:
Yoda needs updated sig.

I just noticed that there's already dlc for this. New characters and music. One of the tracks is free, there's also a 3D model viewer which is also free. Are the characters worth getting?

I'd love the 3D model viewer just because I love "things like that" (Melee/Brawl Trophies?  Droool).

What the hell ever happened to Thoren anyway.

Isn't that Sagsacious T (or something like that).

Do not sweat over the time restrictions. The only thing that would be really tough to get on your first play through is the true ending. You can also easily break most of the games non boss encounters with Rorona, if you gear her up properly, which  is not hard to do.

I [think] I'm a year in... WHERE DO YOU GET EQUIPMENT FROM!>!??!  And money is pretty tight too often.  Tricky title!

Just got the "make flowers grow" power in Okamiden. I don't think I'm enjoying this very much.

I kinda wanted to get it... why the "meh"? :(

Dude...is it really necessary to have those fucking obscenely large animated gifs as a sig? Not everyone has super high speed internet and super fast computer and that shit fucking kills my browser to the point it takes a full minute to go back a page.

Big sigs are tacky and look foolish. I agree with you but I turned them off since I got tired of having to adblock every new and retarded lazlo/kay/jubby eyesore I just turned them off

I like sticking to quotes; some good lines are said by the lovable cast of characters here. :D
6463  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently Viewed Movies Episode 2: The Vampire Bites Back on: October 09, 2011, 07:44:12 PM
I liked The Dreamers. I think it was meant to be obscene and absurd. I'm still a little torn by the ending and the implications around it, but it was good. And yeah, Eva Green has a crazy large chest for a woman her size.

I liked it too, definitely for that absurdity.  The ending was interesting...  my implication was a kinda of three-way-draw.  The brother was all talk about rebelling, the sister would have rather killed all 3 of them to "dream" forever (I guess?) then have it end, and the foreign kid could never get with the sister because she wanted [erm] brother.
6464  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently Viewed Movies Episode 2: The Vampire Bites Back on: October 09, 2011, 12:04:57 PM
I saw The Dreamers.  Lots of full-frontal, and thought that, while interesting, was stupid by the end.

I can proudly say I like my boobs over Eva Greens... but damn, for a slender woman, hers are big!
Why is it always more amusing to see a naked woman over a man?  Oddly enough, it's rarer to see a full-frontal man -- what's up with that??

Re-watched the Rock because works buds and I talked about it too much at work... "Winners go home and fuck the prom queen".

Should I be worried?  Boy decided to bail on Thanksgiving fam dinner so he can play pool... with girls. x(
I'm kinda irked, even if I "kinda get it".

I got fucking wrecked last night and when that happens I always wake up early. Oh well... good gaming time not.

Bad decisions make great stories!  I'm sure you'll be a joy to work with haha

Eh, I don't know if you should be worried, but I would slap him with a rolled up newspaper and ask, "What the fuck are you doing?"

Yeah; boyfriend may need the newspaper thwack... more on the fact this sounded like a bad sitcom plot: the fat funny husband has to ditch some thing with the wife because he wants to play "golf with the boys".  *fistpalm*.

I didn't even mind at first, but lying to my family all night blowed ass.  I only lie when I need to escape my policeman dad's line of questioning that goes 20 questions longer than it should.

Poolhall Junkies is awesome for two reasons....

First: "I made a Freudian slip yesterday.
I meant to ask my wife to pass the butter...
but instead I said,
"You bitch! You've ruined my life!"

And Second: Christopher Walken's one-shot wonder shot.  He was even caught by surprise on it if you watch his reaction.  I do gotta see Hustler.
