I felt for Kara, and the array of emotions is amazing. Very life-like.

For some reason this reminded me of Moon, one of my favorite flix.

Yoda: Why does she look like that chik from Heavy Rain.

I like your heart to heart with it now though. >=/

Got the game early from Indie game seller who don't know what a "street date" is. :D

I love it so far, and ta-hell with opinions and modern standards, this game's graphics are beautiful in their own right (the motion capture really helps too of course, Abyss, Vesperia and Symphonia had probably some of the most retarded looking cut scenes for that).  Scenery is gorgeous.

Sadly, most of the music, though pleasant enough, is pretty forgettable and blandly melodic.

The battle system... hell, just about everything is pretty unique to the series.  I'm still kind of confused about how Skills work with Artes and with Titles. @_@  I accidently skipped through some of the dialogue on it...

I think this "kids" chapter is lasting a bit long too, I've skipped a few cutscenes here and there for going long and already making their "point".  But I'm sure it'll work out for whatever idea they're going to get at in the end.

Anyways, I'm pretty damn happy. :)
I didn't get the pre-order bonus that came from GS... but those cross-over outfits looked like garbage anyways (didn't suit), and the exclusive theme for PS3??  I got my SotC one and a Journey one coming, I think I'll live without.

I don't think so... not 100%.

It's kinda of like a music video.  I find some of the effects you see in them better than in the movies; but at least resources are optimized for a good 3-4 minutes than an entire 2 hours.  Same for a game, there's a lot to do, this tech demo focused only on one human-bot, machines, and some impressive movements and lighting.

We do know they are good though. :)

Amazing stuff, but I thought they said it's not related to anything they're working on...sadly.

looks like a nipple with two rogue nips in orbit

If thats what nips look like to Yodes... he hasn't...

a) been with many-a-girl

b) been with the right girls.

If nips looked like that, I'd imagine it'd be on a human-female version of Jabba the Hut

Moving house today.

You saw a moving house or you're going to move a house?

nope. FF12 maybe but definately not 7

12 Changed the formula.  13 really changed it to the point people would have rather it been an independant IP.

Gameplay wise.  Why the fuck is everyone here so story-oriented?!  Anyways, how is it *not* a reboot?

Breath of Fire V was easily a big departure anyways.

Yeah but so is every Final Fantasy. (From FF7 onwards at least) Do those count as reboots?

The only time when I think a reboot is actually a good idea is like what happened with Battlestar Galactica.

Except the godawful ending.

Good point about Xenogears/Saga.

The core of FF games is the same, they keep a lot in and generally follow the same routine.  BoFDQ/V was a survival RPG.  You were technically timed to beat it, and villages were mere pit stops.  I'd call it a new flavor to the series.  Not a real reboot, but a reboot in the sense the topic creator meant I think.

I think Squeeniz is big budget enough for an HD Vita release... we'll see.

Wow.... fucking tech demos... make me wish they were real footage for something.

Heavy Rain Developer's[iirc Quantum Dream's?] here... and the Tri-Ace one made me emotionally erect.

Cool. People know what otaku means.

I wouldn't judge what 'people know' from RPGFan...

And did you really revive this old thread just for that?

...and "pokémon".

Cool. People know what otaku means.

When I was in high school Jgo slang wasn't popularized at all, all anyone basically knew was "sayonara."

...and "pokémon".

I applauded Breath of Fire Vs sort-of series reboot.

Does that really count as a reboot? The games were never really connected at all other than the protagonist's name.

As for a reboot.....it would depend on the series. We've seen how the reboot for Suikoden went.
Well, truthfully, BoF1-4 were one connected timeline, which I believe went 4, 1, 2, 3. Dragon Quarter basically eschewed the whole thing.

I also agree that it depends on the series; Suikoden hasn't ridden the reboot train well.

Gameplay wise.  Why the fuck is everyone here so story-oriented?!  Anyways, how is it *not* a reboot?

Breath of Fire V was easily a big departure anyways.  You attacked your enemies for the headsup, walked the battlefield, traveled "up" the world instead of across it, couldn't fish, you mined with ants[?], Ryu spoke, Nina didn't and technically didn't have wings... basically it combined capcom's survival-horrors with RPG -- I mean, your fucking saves were limited.

I can't remember if they said V *does* take place in the same timeline or world... but, I mean, it doesn't really matter since there was no real proof in-game.  Basically, all it had the same was Dragons and Gooeys, and a blonde and a blue-nette.... and a term like "zenny".

Rap battle!

I'd pay for that.
