Given how beautifully animated WW was back in (I think) 2001, I can't wait to see how this looks in motion.  This is really unexpected news, all things considered.  Nintendo doesn't really do HD remakes, do they?  Ocarina did, sorta, it's a texture improvement or whatever (the NPCs still looked weird and creepy).
6572  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: New Xenoblade? on: January 23, 2013, 09:12:44 PM

I'm sad to say I was thinking the same thing.  But, meng....Versus and the Last Guardian have been in development WAAAAY too long (of course, I'm not doubting a lot of internal issues on that, developmental aside).

I was thinking that given how the controller for the Wii U is The Wind Waker can benefit greatly from it.

You could finally use the Tingle Tuner without the need of an another system and hunting for treasure in the ocean can be a more interesting affair, especially for when you have to get the Triforce charts.

Or, god willing, they can just get rid of the whole Triforce chart sequence entirely because it made me hate Tingle for all eternity. Or at the very least, remove the absurd rupee cost. FUCK YOU TINGLE!

I love Wind Waker and all, but I thought it was filled with more grievances than the rest of the games.  Triforce Shard hunting was just mean.  I hated Skyward Sword, but I liked their approach to the Triforce even if the dungeon it was in was a copy/paste waste of precious....um, Zelda Dungeon-ing.

I'm in the mood for some light-hearted gaming. Was thinking of getting one of the banjo games from xbla....

Kazooie or Tooie? I never played them on N64. Thoughts?

One of my favorite games growing up.  Dang.  Didn't know they were on BXob (not fixing that typo).  They're not "excellent" but they're a lot of fun from what I remember.  Essentially a Mario 64 clone...but I mean, is that really a bad thing?
6575  Media / General Games / Re: Yoshi's Epic Yarn on: January 23, 2013, 03:45:18 PM
The fact the SNES is now a bygone era still tugs at my heart.
Mind you, I'm glad as fuck I don't have to hear Baby Mario cry.  AAAUUGGHHH.  I source that game and Drakengard as the top two reasons I wanna post-pone any sort of family.

And good thinking Mongoosey. I'd take a dating sim Metroid.  Secret bachelor is Metroid itself.

I hated Epic Yarn, and I think it's kinda weird the same company is doing ...another yarn thing.  But I'm curious, and this look quite pretty.  I'm counting how long it takes before someone makes a real Yarn Yoshi on DeviantArt or Etsy or whatever.

I agree there's a lot of bloom, but I always hate the rap that gets.  If they can do what they did with TP, I think it'll add a great deal of atmosphere.

So uh, this is the only 3D Zelda that I think is worth a shit. And oh my god does that comparison shot look awesome.

Maybe they'll complete the dungeons that got scrapped?

That'd be perfect.  If they did that, I'd buy whatever $200 special Gold Edition Wii U tablet they sell.
6579  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem on: January 23, 2013, 10:47:56 AM
Eugh, I hope they get one artist to unify the art style.

Interesting.  I think teasers are the worst thing in the world, but I'm curious to how this will mesh.

And yeah -- hopefully not a fighting game.

Zelda is not an RPG.

Bzzz cannot comprehend. Bzzzz

Along with them re-confirming a new Zelda title on the WiiU (still no new haps on the next 3DS title....) we get this.

While I want TUWAIRAITO PURINSESU, this looks pretty fucking brilliant.
6582  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: New Xenoblade? on: January 23, 2013, 10:29:53 AM
That was fast.

Also nice to see the trailer in not stutter-o-vision.

Although it does look a bit too Monster Hunter-ish for my tastes. But at least we finally have giant robots to pilot, and it just ain't no Xeno game without at least someone driving a mecha.

Honestly love how fluid it is.  Like Xenogears handled world maps, but now it's not 2D.
6583  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Xenoblade Chronicles X on: January 23, 2013, 10:15:21 AM

Holy fuck.  I'm sold!!  It looks almost perfect, I hope it plays that way.
Apparently already confirmed for NA release given that it was shown for the NA Press Release lineup.  Anyways, thoughts?  Yay!  A new Xenoblade?

Anyways, brb, off to buy a Wii U.
6584  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: What's the haps? on: January 23, 2013, 12:34:07 AM
^ I fucking hate this.

Kill it.  Or me.  Whichever first.

I'm reading for a test I thought was tomorrow but is actually THURSDAY!  YIPPEE!!! I'm gonna get naked and drink hot chocolate and play vidya games for the rest of the night!
6585  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Square Enix is making an FF thing on: January 22, 2013, 07:49:48 PM
Hey now! I find that picture to be badly misinformed and unfunny. Squaresoft has nothing to do with this travesty beyond dying almost a decade ago.

Fuck you give me your money. :P

Unfortunately, you can't quote pictures, but I do have to say that image on page 2 was perfect.
