No, he was a 2D graphics guy... a menu programmer.

I'd be sad if he was the dude responsible for the 1 second FMV in FF13's status menu.

I guess they know their audience.

Naw, too much, and a game like this is only fun when you have a "project" in mind.

The only game that should be punished is Asura's Wrath that's making you pay for DLC for the full or complete ending or whatever.  I think DLC that contributes to the over-arching story is just mean and definitely a bad business tactic showing how greedy an industry can be.  No one forces you to buy DLC though.  If you buy it, clearly and hopefully you're buying it because you think the game is worth the buck.

Actually, for the all the retards who bitched about ME3's ending, they should pay because they literally whined a new ending out of EA.

Parn is my guy

Out of love, I read that post like 3 times.

Next Tales of.

Hmm... dat "x"....

Either way, if it is a Xillia2 or Xillia DIrector's Cut or just a "new Tales of" font.... looks pretty hi-tech.

I had a ton of trouble with them.  But I blamed the condition my condition was in.  I was with a cold and my head was blocked up as I blew my nose once every two minutes.  Needles to say, I didn't feel like thinking and FAQ'd [lol] it.

It got so annoying to spin those things, most needed at least 90-degrees and they didn't move to fast.  So restarting was torture.

I'm bias for Ed Norton and Hulk "2" did nothing for me. =/
Had some of the worst editing I've ever seen too...

I saw Avengers too, and I'm with Lard.   SPOILERS A-HOY (but given the $700 mil it closed in, I don't know who here hasn't seen it).

I liked Ruffalo's Hulk, but I thought that line, "I'm always mad!!" was so hokey-Hollywood that it hurt.  I think the actual Ruffalo, on the other hand, had like...ten minutes of screen time?  Which reminds me, I think only about 15% of that movie was actually real...  Holy shit, did anyone watch the credits and see the literal PAGES of CG credits?!?!

Anyways.  The story was absolutely atrocious, but I'll cut it slack for being a balls-to-the-wall action flick, so it pretty much served its purpose (and did it well where it mattered since the action was top-notch).  But why they chose to bring back Loki, a villain who was crap in the first place, only to be brought down in two seconds by Hulk like some pansy ass is beyond me.  I realize the Avengers could take over the world, so they wanted to move to "space threats", but I think they could have done way better.  Also, the early sub-plot for Loki to get the team all "mad" at each other was minor and horribly contrived.  The alien enemy was really stupid and felt out of thin air, the "big bad" was horribly explained but they're obviously angling to an "Avengers 2" (which I'm sure was greenlit after its weekend box office).  But I was surprised and kinda excited to see Thanos in the final moments.  I thought Hulk and Thor had some of the best action scenes all in all, but Cap't America felt kinda short-changed amongst the lot.

I'm surprised people are touting this as much as they are.  It IS great, but lacked the class I think that Nolan's Batman has brought to comic-flix (...on the other hand, it's good that Avengers takes itself less seriously than Batman).

Does something happen in the series? I ask because KyoAni is known for making anime in where nothing happens. Like in K-On! that is all about drinking tea and eating cake.

I thought K-On and Lucky Star were two of the most useless shows.  It disappoints me that KyoAni, despite quality, loves these high school settings so fucking much, I'd love to see them exapand and do more serious work.  I am happy to say Hyouka seems to be doing that, it's not the slice of life where nothing really happens besides cute girls being cute.
I'm enjoying it, but it still can be dropped if I feel it's not going anywhere or it just feels like "effort" to watch.  I do like mysteries though, so I do want to see it through.

I also watched the first episode of Sakimichi...err...No Appolo... Um.  Kids on the Slope.  Fucking hell, high school freshmen aren't buff, animators/artists.  Eugh.  Anyways.  I was stupid interested in this show after I heard it had jazz as a primary focus.  So far it looks like Nodame Cantible but not with classical music, but jazz (but our stick-in-his-ass main character started off in classical).  I adore the animation even if the style isn't my taste (I hate that bug-eyed shoujo look).  They clearly rotoscoped an impressively done drum solo, and by the look of it, is timed really well.  I'm happy to announce there is more black people in this than in 90% of the rest of animes (err, in the form of record covers for jazz albums).  Also refreshing and strange to see an anime that takes place in the 1960s!!  I heard the series becomes a big love-trapezoid or something, and all of a sudden, the creepy shoujo style makes sense, but I'll stick with this a bit, see how she goes.

Nomura and his band of douches can't manage any game properly and can't design their way out of a paper bag.

With Zippers and Belts they can MacGuyver their way out of it.

Squaresoft itself has an entire high end engine invented, use it!

You mean Square-Enix...
I miss Squersoft and I miss Enix. Both made amazing games. The merge produced some bizarre abomination incapable of making anything that comes even remotely close to what either company was capable of. At least they do ok as a publisher.
You have it all wrong. It was Hironobu Sakaguchi leaving the company that made this a drastic change.

Not like MistWalker is dropping A-grade games.

I know we're not anime-crazy here, but I'm surprised no one [I've seen] mentioned KyoAni's latest: Hyouka.
It's slow, but the animation is better than some anime movies (nothing new for Kyo-Anime).  I like it because its a mystery series -- a dying or at least niche genre these days.  So I'm curious to follow it.  The lead chick annoys the fuck out of me though, she's epitome "moe", so sure she's darling, but useless thus far otherwise.
6599  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Gust announces new Atelier game: Atelier Meruru on: May 08, 2012, 12:25:42 PM
I want the newest Atelier.  I'm sure will see it if NISA is as reliable as it is.  I couldn't deal with the timed aspect.  But I do wanna keep an eye on what peeps are saying about it here.  JRPGs are hardly a seller at my location if I wanna do a late pick up.

Had a week off from work, and I didn't even touch the game once. Shame on me :(
Clocked roughly 20 hours on it and I still haven't made it to colony 6.

I've been slacking too.  Something about the commitment of... I dunno, the 70-100 hours peeps have spent on it that's a bit intimidating.  I love it, just...hard to invest, and I hate feeling like a couch potato.
