People being pretty hard on OoT, a game that came out in the early days of 3D world exploration. Game companies were still trying to figure out what would end up being fun and playable.

My god, OoT is amazing. No offense meant in the slightest. For its time, it was SUPERB, and it's aged quite well, in my opinion. But I think it's to Nintendo's credit that with TP, I felt they built on what they'd done right with OoT to make an even better game. Does that mean that Nintendo deserve more accolades with TP than OoT? No, OoT was the bigger leap forward, and got a lot of things right. But in a time of quickly moving technology, it's not hard to believe that games SHOULD improve as they go. It's like the original Legend of Zelda to Link to the Past. LttP is practically a remake of LoZ, and few are going to argue that LttP isn't better in every way. But that doesn't make the original LoZ a lesser game, just less refined. I believe it's the same way with OoT and TP.

LoZ --> LttP
OoT --> TP
LA --> MC
WW --> SS?

Some of the games can be considered kinda similar...
Seem to get the "experimental" versions, then we get the game that will hopefully ace "the formula".
...I wonder if we'll ever get a platformer again. :P

Has the grip really been nerfed? I haven't had any trouble hanging on or defeating any bosses quickly. I feel the game is too easy, and I don't remember it being this easy. I've been able to defeat all the bosses up to this point, except number 12, in 1 or 2 climbs.

I played them side-by-side.  I beat Colossus 1 in a third of the time on PS2. You'll notice it's been nerfed during time attack; colossi 3, 15, and 6 giving people the most about of "shaking" issues (it's really hard to land a hit).  The game itself isn't actually that hard (hence when some time attackers can beat colossi in a ridiculously low amount of time) -- once the game loses the "mystery" of how to beat the giants.

This Guy on a Buffalo shit is awesome. xD
I laugh through the whole thing.  The song is great, the lyrics are very literal,  and... how do you tame [?] a buffalo???

The Japanese list of old games is amazing on PSN.  It's sorted by publisher -- because they are ALL there.... -_-

the problem i had with twilight princess is that it felt to much like OoT. instead of moving forward the series continues to repeat themes. even skyward sword seems eriely(sp?) similar to windwaker. is it any wonder my favorite game in the series is minish cap?

True...  But after playing OoT again on 3DS, I dunno... I thought Twilight Princess was a more refined version.  Some parts of OoT just felt... unplanned?  Hyrule field in Ocarina was awful, it was a mass open field with pretty much nothing in it.  Twilight kinda made things for interesting.  (for those who did the "Throwback Galaxy", the N64 Mario level that was in Mario Galaxy 2... remember how weird the level felt?)

My copy of the ICO collection arrived today and I immediately started playing Shadow of the Colossus.  It looks great.  It's gonna take some time to get used to the clunkiness of the controls again.

It might look better, but fuck me it is hard to spot fruit to shoot down.  That wasn't easy on the eyes to begin with, but it's especially tough now that it blends in so much better.

I thought the same... but it's amazing how quick you get used to them.  Weird when the human body anticipates for that kinds of things.  Just do a run around the land, picking fruit and killing lizards.  If you warm up to the controls that way, the next several colossi are cake.

Revealing fact about Ole Yodes:

That was one of my favorite movies for some reason when I was a kid. We only had one tv and I'd watch that all the time for a few weeks one time. My dad was pissed. He probably thought I was gay or something.

My dad didn't like me watching the Golden Girls. He also probably thought I was gay or something. Which I am. And I still love the Golden Girls.

Star, don't be jealous of having your "sole-homo-man" title taken.  It's important to love all and appreciate all open closets. >=/

I usually eat when Golden Girls is playing on our retro TV channel.  So my mum and I watch it practically all the time.  I like the show a lot, but I do hate the romances... something about flirty 50+'ers does me in the wrong way.

And I liked the Goonies... a bit.  As far as I'm concernerd half of it is kids yelling a lot of stuff to each other.  HEY YOU GUYSSS.  Haha, charming but....

I had a Nostalgia-Attack for Night Hood the other day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7W4QD4ez9I

Joy. Looks like Glee is back. Now I get to watch my friend spam my twitter feed with crap about it every week.

Totally altered my stereotype there, seeing that you dislike glee.

I'm sorry. ;_;, what can I do to make things go back to the way things were? Don't ask me to go shopping with you though, because shopping is boring, unless it is for me.

I usually shop alone myself.  I'd rather take my sweet ass time trying things on.
Can we watch some drama movies together at the very least??? =(

Or you happen to be drinking water from the Fountain of Youth

"...in Canada?!" *spit-take*

Naah... the only magical fountains we have are either shared with the States (Niagara) and our rich reserves of Maple Syrups.  School water fountains make the distant 3rd.

I was drinking water till a fly went on and fell in and died in there.  It was in there, "dead", for over half an hour as I worked on other things.  Then it wasn't in there anymore and was flying around the rim of the glass...  I personally think the fly realized at some point it wasn't dead, and it was just being over-dramatic.
