Number Two's eyes narrowed and became what are known in the Shouting and Killing People trade as cold slits, the idea presumable being to give your opponent the impression that you have lost your glasses or are having difficulty keeping awake. Why this is frightening is an, as yet, unresolved problem.

It's actually over 60 hours long. Dice really, really just doesn't have a life.

(sorry dice :()

60 hours?!  Shit, I think not.

The game has an easy mode, and I haven't NEARLY completed gathering all the shit there is to collect and complete (read my above post).

In my defense, nearly no DS game is 60 hours.
Mesh, watch it, I hope you've played the game.

I beat it! (yeah, I haven't had work, and the friends are busy...plus I rushed it).

Well, the game leaves a lot open in its New Game +.
No Spoilers but if you just wanna save the excitement...
Code:
I can see some people being indifferent about the ending.

However if you load up your end-game file you start in the final room; with your current stats, and you're able to go replay ANY game event (or "days", as the game divides it) in order to accomplish goals (where since I rushed, I missed like....all of them).

Completing every goal for every day will open up "Another Day" where all story questions are cleared up.

^FYI

I like it!  Keep me hooked.

Persona 3's music was composed for the game and being set in a Japanese highschool island, J-Pop was probably the most appropriate sort of thing they could use.

Good point.  Maybe not OST put-on-my-iPod material, but it gets its own medal for really suiting the environment.

Music works better in game (usually the case I find).
It can grow a bit tiresome when each time you get to a new area or out of your status/cell-phone menu the song restarts and chooses one of 4-ish songs.
However, it is really cool, and suits the environment.

Voices are rarely heard and are more done for in-battles, certain events, and a legend of Zelda style one-word (or grunt) to match the topic.
"woah!" "Haha" type of things.

The voice acting is good otherwise (I can only place the main chick, she sounds like ToS's Collette).

Battles are extremely hectic and take some getting use to (even as a girl I'm having trouble multi tasking this shit).
Nevertheless, the game really takes you into its own world and its own rules.

One of those rare cases where I like the overseas name better than the original Japanese one

I got hold of a European copy, and while its a bit tough to get adjusted to this game, it is absolutely amazing.
My favorite aspect has to be how there is not other game like it.

The good: Battle system, brand clothing system, character interactions, great graphics, the music

The bad: Controlling two characters at once can be nerve wracking; and personally, not a user friendly game

The ugly: The instructions; I'm still confused about a lot

Ah well, who else is picking this one up?

Namco Bandai is epic fail. They don't bring over the really good games and those they do get butchered anyway.

Explain this.

Yeah, please explain because I thought Xenosaga 3 and Tales of the Abyss were great.

I want my Venus and Braves!!
6610  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Death Note sucks on: April 14, 2008, 02:50:45 PM
I liked it initially.  It was cool, and interesting.  But then the cat and mouse game got really tiring and got into such paranoiac thinking and over-exaggerated characters (the blonde wench, forgot her name, was just a flat out fucktard with no depth and little interest in her whining bitching ways).

Credit where its due, the writer is really good at working with what he has...  He made up some Death Note rules and was able to play them out.

I liked the dark taciturn atmosphere, but in the end felt it didn't go anywhere and paraded on too long. I think "Paranoia Agent" would have been more suitable for a title.

I don't know why stupid fan girls rave about this.  If this is their pursuit at a clever and thrilling series, they have more searching to do.

Or Infinite Undiscovery might go the way of Eternal Sonata.
I dunno.  It could also be about who they're really trying to appeal to.

Still, the best part of SO2 for me was the Iron Chef mini-game.  That's what got me into the Iron Chef TV show.  Whether it's Iron Chef or Iron Chef America, I still love to watch it.

HOOOLY CRAP I had the exact same experience!!!

Frickin' Iron Chef mini-game. I remembered the first time I saw Iron Chef I was like "shit I already PLAYED this!"

Wow..  Third-ed.  Actually. :P

Theres a scan with the chick too, she's pretty, better than her male counterpart.

Fan Girl moment: he's the first male protagonist who ISN'T 19.  He's 20! =D

I always found that most companies were run by a bunch of monkeys (therefore picking their asses, eating bananas and making stupid decisions).

Speaking localizing is a pain in the ass, hey really should think more carefully about whats brought over.  Tales of Innocence was definitely worth the time, its a pretty solid NDS title.
This applies to quite a few titles.  Makes me wish XSeed and NISAmerica were willing to diversify titles they translate.
