I remember Tales of Symphonia being too hard when I was a kid.

Tales of Symphonia release date: July 13, 2004.

when I was a kid.

God damn it, I feel old today.

I remember walking my dog that Summer morning, my dad was gonna drive me to go get it after I took her out.  I just finished Grade 10.  I was so happy a Tales game was coming out, and for me to sit down with and enjoy during the summer time ...I wanna be young again....!!!!!

I was so happy this song came on my iTunes when I looked at these pictures (lyrics nsfw).

Honestly?  I was like...prohibition dry in 2012.  I wouldn't mind a few more beers this year.

So confirmed that you're not falling off the wagon, but jumping off it?

...and sauntering vaguely downwards, yes.

Django Unchained

One reason I'm always happy to be a fan of Tarantino is that for the most part he's always able to deliver a really solid film.  Django is no exception.  It's what happens when you mix the action of Kill Bill vol. 1, and the talkity-talk of Kill Bill vol. 2, and while you don't get it in the same extremities as those two films did, the end result is still an incredibly satisfying Western film... heck, probably the best since True Grit, and....fuck... Tombstone (I'm your huckleberry) before that (either way, it brought life to a certainly dying genre).

The performances were perfect.

Eugh.  Work today.

I had a few drinks... as far as I can tell, a lot of my buds didn't do anything more extravagant than a house party, no one I know did a fancy trip or whatever.

Looking at the year in review -- very little noteworthy moments happened in 2012.  Hopefully it changes in 2013?

Dice's resolution is getting drunk?  Setting the bar pretty low there, Dice.

Awesome a super-niche title like this is getting a release... but yeah... From what I've seen/heard about the game, I couldn't care less.

Atelier Ayesha for Europe as I sit in NA though... hmm.... any good EU game store that ship out to the wintery canadian north?

I thought X was a lot of fun when a lot of the beginning was out of the way.

I've been in love with Far Cry 3 and about an hour ago the fucking dog knocked over the brand new halo 4 Xbox and the disc is ruined. Yay:(.  No use crying over spilled milk, right? Can't smack the dog so I'm just quietly fuming:/

Chances are a disc resurfacing will fix you right up.  A local game or cd store probably does it for five bucks or less.

Nope.  Unlikely, if the system was knocked over, he probably got the "perma-ring" fried onto the CD.  I don't think even resurfacing fixes that. =/
Hard to hate a dog even for that...they're too fucking cute. :(

Playing FF9.  Um, I have a nasty habit of leaving the system on, and I have clocked over 100 hours, when the clock only goes to 99:59:59.  I love what happens after.  It kinda creeped me out too, the it starts back at 00:00:00, but the letters change colour and it looks like: 00:00:00.  Maybe a warning that you've been playing too long.

Doing all sidequests.  I happily beat Hades on my first try (yay!).  I love all the weird ass secrets in Memoria (well, except that I clearly missed any hope at Excalibur II...over 90 hours late...).  It's weird that a lot of the strongest stuff is easily obtained through Choco Quest than final dungeons or character sidequests... kinda sad my party is already pretty jacked for challenges.  I'm training against the Van's on Vile Island.  Fuck they're a frightening enemy based on the sheer fact they love launching comets at your face.  ...why do enemies cast float on you??  What for??

If you leave the game on for another 99:59:59 you'll change the clock's color to green and again for blue and so on until you go back to white which conveniently puts you back on the clock for Excalibur II.

Haha, omg, is that for real???

I hate the ExcalII quest... what's the point that late in the game besides bragging rights?? :(

This is 40.

Cute, funny, but done better before.  It's pretty aimless, there's no real plot except for an issue that comes up for Rudd and Mann each.  Their daughter's sort of tag along, and the supporting cast as fodder to fill up time I guess.  Some scenes felt like an excuse to bring up embarassing things that couples do/discuss at some point... which I guess is amusing, but the rest of the film is pretty plotless.  It's good for a watch, for sure... but probably not worth a re-watch any more than that.  ... Paul Rudd's dad's Jewfro bothered me every time it was on screen.

Why is the issue more about the fact he has a penis rather than the fact he looks about 8 years old. o.o

Because he looks like an 8 year old girl? I dunno, kinda wondered that myself.

The Japanese Defense: the pre-show warning "All characters in this animated title are over the age of 18".  Still drawn to look 8.

I'm glad this semi NSFW (but "arte") video was in the "related videos".

Funny Grim mentioned Clockwork Orange, I watched The Perks of Being a Wallflower -- where they do these sort of performances to the film.

Great movie.  Excellent performances from all three mains, and the supporting cast also play their roles extremely well.  Emma Watson is lovely, Ezra Miller again amazes as clearly one of the better young actors this generation, and Logan Lerman gets what is probably his first big/serious role.  The major issues are interesting, and while some might seem very much like the "teen issues" seen time and time again, but still has the ability to surprise and be sweet and fun.  I think that's what I like most, when it isn't being a bit more serious, the cast is still a fun group of teenagers doing the stupid shit we all did and thinking what we thought.  A few issues is that Logan Lerman is a pretty good looking kid, I can't picture him getting bullied at the start in real life (ok fine, nuance). .  And while I love the film, I can't help but feel Paul Rudd was underplayed and rushed; same with the bit about the Aunt -- a very important character (although, it is a hard subject to touch and show on film).  But what's worse is I'm not to sure what instigated a resurgence/recollection of the event and what purpose it served other than just "creating drama" for the finale (and his feelings about her are nothing short of complicated).  The original material was originally written as a novella by the same person who wrote and directed the film.  So one thing I thought was interesting to hear was how our main character's sister was given a larger role in the film while she was only mentioned in the book.

A big plus goes to the Truth or Dare scene and Ezra Miller for being amazing in this movie.
