I LIEK SPORTZ TOOS YO!!!!

...well, I like NBA Jam.... and any sports guy will say, "That's not a real sports game".  I like Mario Kart (not wii!) too... =/

I just finished watching Hanasaku Iroha. I'm speechless right now; while certainly not without flaws, the entire work is just so charming, and the characters feel so real (because of those flaws), that I couldn't help but totally fall in love with it--and them. It's been a while since I've had such a hard time walking away from characters when there is some actual closure, and I can't wait for the "new visual work" next year.

Extremely impressed. If you like slice of life/coming of age stories at all, I highly suggest it. The animation is also very crisp and vibrant, and nearly the entire cast feels fully realized.

I completely agree.  One of the best shows of the year.

I'm struggling to find something similar right now. Though I definitely don't expect the same animation quality from, well, anything, I'd really love something with the same "feel".

Slice of life animes are not uncommon, but ones of this quality are.  I wracked my brain trying to think of something similar and all I could come up with was Honey and Clover.  It's an older show, but if you haven't seen it then I would quite recommend it.

I'm glad slice of life exists while a good portion of fandom is busy with what's "moe" right now.

Nothing would calm her rage more than skillfully catching cupcake in mouth as it is thrown.  Awe inspiring! :D

I sucked when the game first came out -- but I think it might be great to give this a go again.

I know it means we don't get *new* games, but I like these HD-remakes... clearly even companies know they had a golden era. xP

Woah, for real, Dice?

Fo' real.  Don't need it. :)

My only complaint, the contrast was turned way up on the full shots of the character art.  But on the other hand, you actually see sketches that *aren't* in the actual japanese artbook.  Too tired now, I'll shoot of a PM tomorrow if you want it.  I'm in a good mood.
6831  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Valkyria Chronicles 3 not coming to US and Europe, Sega blames you on: October 18, 2011, 12:32:08 AM
The japanese also love delux editions with goodies and fancy packaging. Game companies must make a killing doing that shit for certain games.

I'm a sucker for some of that stuff.... T___T
As a collector of art books in general, I am thrilled to get them.  I don't really care about the statues though - they're probably why some of the sets are so goddamn expensive.  My one Ass Creed one is nice though...  I put a koala plush on him - it's just darling.

To people who got the special edition: was it worth it? I know the artbook is only softcover, but is it any good?

Also, as I've never tried, are trophies compatible with each other from different regions? ie. Will my Australian Totori data/trophies work if I buy the NA edition?

Yeah, has most of the important art works (if you really want I'll just give it to you... I bought the Rorona & Totori artbook bundle.... of course, they announced a tri-bundle with art from all three games, but whatever, same deal by that point anyways).  You can have my OST too. :P

Careful now, Star takes his homosexuality very seriously [?] and doesn't appreciate when people try to play the "what if I was gay too?" card.  He's a smart guy, and he sees through petty tricks! ___

You can see that in that he thinks mid 60s is middle of the road.

When you're spending money, you want "really good" than "average" products. :P

Are the random sports games on your trophy list attempts at getting him into games?

Those are his.... it's my way of supporting it!!!! >=[

Ass creed is in my backlog, ass creed 1 on xb and ass creed 2 on ps3. A similar question for you guys, got both Left for Dead and Fear on the top of my pile of unplayed games. Anyone played these??

Left 4 Dead (get it right haha) is great if you have peeps to play with.  Go with F.E.A.R. otherwise.

Sold.

I dig the story as well.

So all i need to do is break up w/ +1, lose my job, and play about 200hours worth of games.

Is it sad I've wanted to do that sometimes.  Not for videogames, but just to be alone a bit with... everything else?  *sigh* what I wouldn't give for him to be more into games too... =(

You had a blast on the water temple on 3DS because it's easier to knock the boots. I mean change the boots

Haha true enough.  But it was more than that.  There is really only real mind teaser in the dungeon (where you have to raise the water, but go to a lower level than what you raised for or something like that - just a bit of "outside the box" stuff).  It's simple deduction too; if you can't do fuck-all in a room, clearly it's not part of where you're supposed to go.  If a room looks suspicious, then lo' and behold.

Aaaaaaaaand then Master Quest's mirrowed version comes into play...

WHy does the game look... "dirty" and tainted in mirror modes... like what you know has been BASTARDIZED.  I did Twilight Princess Wii & GC... it's not a change you can get used to...

Awesome room.  Makes me wish I had more cool hobby crap worth showing off. =/   I wouldn't mind a "room thread" here haha  -- definitely to show off "goodies" we collect or even for the video game collection.

Awesome PS3 commercial.... finally.
Game cameo's by the dozen makes you feel warm n fuzzy

question for those who have played all assassins creed so far. I played 2 and my save fucked up twice and I lost it both times. I want to finish 2 but I'm in no hurry b/c of what happened to me.

If I go back to 1 will I find that controls are outdated and frustrating?

A bit.  If you haven't played it, get your ass on it though, it's nothing too bad, it's just unrefined a bit.  Theres a lot more solidarity to how the second title and after work; a better formula especially for combat at least.  The first one though, like it said, is much more artistic and bare bones.  The 2nd+ have you do all sorts of crazy shit, but the first keeps it to basics and presentation.
