Good to know, but that's a risky timeframe for a PSP game.

I think by this point, a company would be foolish not to do a simultaneous release on the Vita marketplace as well...

Innocence R for Vita, but given it only seemed to sell around 75,000 copies in Japan

Thass what happens when you make a shitty looking "remake".

I thought there was already good evidence for ToX-DC.  I'll have to swing by Gamefaqs boards sometime.

I refuse to look at walkthrough's for this for fear of seeing a spoiler, but I would like to know the items dualized which say "can be sold for $$$" should be sold . Is it pretty safe to assume it's OK to sell them all or should some be held onto?

NO.  Beware.  I've sold a lot of shit I needed that way.  Rule of thumb: Keep one of everything if you can, sell duplicates of the $$$-Items.

Wonder if Graces f, and the several year hiatus, could help reverse that... more likely Xillia would do more good there though.

I'm hoping Xill gets a DC then we get it.  I wonder what the objection is with PSN releases.  I'd like to see it as a great oppotunity for already made games.  The J-PSN store is amazing for it....

It's understandably confusing, since Team Destiny is the only development group that does this - and this is the first post-PSX era Team Destiny game we've actually gotten in the U.S., so your confusion is not unprecedented.

I'd give a boob up for Destiny PS2.
Shame they Banco fucking hates PSN or something.

If I remember, the bosses in Tales of the Abyss cast fast. Hell, their incantations have shorter spell chants.

I'm talking normal enemies who I can't reach in time before the tag you with a spell.

I'm not too keen on the dodge on this game, running circles can be tricky.... well, that, and I have a nasty habit of "dodging" INTO the attack. T_T
I am so s-m-r-t.

I guess it'd be too easy if you could, but I hoped it would let you dodge no matter the hit box you're in.  Just gotta get better I s'pose. :D

In regards to Pascal again: she's honestly too lively if anything, it's kind of unbalancing since the rest of the characters can be too boring, and Cheria too Asbel-crazy (her victory quotes about him are groan-worthy). :P
I like Hubert though.  Malik... has way more potential, I was hoping a bit more sarcasm from him being the older guy with a bunch of kids.

After Graces' cast... I thought Abyss' cast was wonderfully balanced and all played off each other well.
But it does seem to get better with them.  The cast mates and even voice actors start coming into their own.

@Dice: Thanks for the review Dice! Just bought a $50 PSN card and is going to get wasted for DLC along with Journey and maybe Limbo.

Currently playing Vanquish again with the DLC weapons. The Anti-Armor Pistol is amazing, shooting robots never felt this good. <3

I recommend Limbo as well if not for sheer shock value.  The sub-text in it's "plot" is also quite deep (you'll stfu when the "ending sequence" starts).
It's achievements are stupid though, and it's difficulty can make a second-run of it less appealing, unlike Journey which is quick, simple, and beautiful time and time again...

minor spoiler
getting the "white-robe", for collecting all symbols and glyphs, gives you a longer flying time and it recharges on its own, definitely makes the replay for the sake of replay quite high.

So yay! My flu has turned from 'omg I'm gonna die!' to 'hey it's not bad I'm not even mad'. Which is great! And then I see all the housework I have piled up from my weekend of hell.

Damn it.

Glad you're better -- fevers do have the affect of "everything around me sucks" as some black clouds kinda makes you sink and feel even shittier.  Glad you're over it!

I think you partly treated it the way I would have if your PSN said anything: sleep and play videogames to take your mind off it. x(

Speaking of which [?], Kurt is an ass-kicker.  Beware.  I actually just did a tour of the world to get SP from Inn Requests.... but fuck me, the bosses in this game can be brutal.  Even enemies at times, if they gang up on you, you're finished.  Spell-casters are pretty troublesome as well, they cast as fast as your party, meaning you gotta go after them first or get fucked my some incoming icicle or stalagmite.

Meanwhile, anyone else feel all Fendel's and Valensik's flag needs is a hammer and sickle to cross it?? :P

Those achievement pictures are the absolute best.

No more awkward a moment in that opening when some under-20 boy goes running into battle with his ...kids.

"Pascal, what's an airhead?"
6867  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky on: March 19, 2012, 12:04:10 AM
I'd actually agree, Trails would be the title that makes me finally decide to get the system.

Found out I rather enjoy Caramel flavoured Baileys. Though only if I water it down with milk by a significant amount.

I'm a huge pussy.

There's a Hazlenut one I'm dying to try.  DYING.  I press my hands and face against the glass of the store (Canadians of the board: LCBO).
6869  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tales of Graces F on: March 18, 2012, 04:46:02 PM
And yes, the anime is absolutely horrible.  I'm amazed that with the Tales of budget they can't afford better quality.  Even Gust games have better animation.  Ar tonelico 2's looks lovely.

Xillia's is 1000x better at least, actually.
6870  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tales of Graces F on: March 18, 2012, 03:08:20 AM
A feeling I had about this game from the get go was finally proved undeniably true today. The 'T' rating is hurting the narrative badly.

This story is all but visibly bulging through the restraint cracks the 'T' places on it. The scene in question which pretty much solidified this in my mind is

the retaking of Wallbridge Fortress where Richard goes loco
and carves a minion up after an obviously evil resurrection.

This story wants to be dark, it wants to be gritty, but because it's T rated,
a JRPG, and originally for the Wii you can pretty much count the stitches covering the neutering surgery.

Also on the subject of the same scene; my suspension of disbelief, which seems to be higher than most on average around here
is buckling. 'He was bleeding like crazy just a moment ago!' Umm...his clothes aren't even ripped...even PS1 era T-rated games
can show blood and battle damage. Lazy with the character modeling much? It's another thing that hurts the narrative.

Dude, it's never been done well....  Obviously, would it kill them to try?

My bigger complaint, since I already expect that out of them in Graces, if why the fuck are the anime sequences so shoddy looking?  Budget reeeaallly must have taken a hit there, the frame rate and consistency is awful, the skit faces look pretty bad too.  I'm glad Bamco went to UFO Table. x(
