Imma just start calling Dance Dance Revolution as East Germany. It makes sense to me.

Pretty much always... feel like time isn't linear, around this time of year.

I worked from home yesterday and was a lot more productive than in the office.

Your caps reminds me of that one like in Brokeback Mountain, where after their immediate and passionate [homosexual] love making, Heath Ledger leaves the tent they did it in and beautifully responds, "I ain't queer!!!" and convincing no one.  Good movie, but I hated that line...

In a similar but different vein of your conundrum, I hate Augusts, I get weird seasonal affective disorder in that lump of time at the end of summer (as opposed to mid-winter).  And every so often I get hit with such a nasty case of "what the hell am I doing with my life" and other self-loathing/feeling-sorry-for-myself thinking that I just lie face forward and curied in the cushions of my couch, butt up.

I'm currently writing a 1,500 word paper.  Which isn't much, but the topic is ludicrous that it's going to be 500 good and honest words, and the rest pure BS.

After a police chase, a man commits suicide on live camera.
The site warns it's graphic, but it's so far away.

Still, kinda weird to see someone "in the process" of dying like that. =/

Why is the boxart missing one of the coolest party members?? D:

Grim: sorry, I sorta replied from my phone and skimmed right passed [capital-B] Bacon mention...

Yeah, I liked that movie too; Hathaway did a great job and I thought her big reveal was pretty big and deep.  I thought the wedding was stupid, but I guess provided an interesting forum for the plot.

Only movie I really remember hating in recent years (and I mean "hate") was Magnolia.  What an annoying movie.

Is that the one with Bacon??  (ps I love Bacon...both types)
It was on my "to watch" list till I realized I saw a ton of dark and sad movies and switched on over to more happier stuff for a bit.

Anyways, I watched "The Five Year Engagement".  Colour-coded name because the movie has a very yellow and blue filter, I actually don't think any green is in this movie.  ...anyways.
Lots of fun, great couples movie especially if you dig the "Apatow" humour of 40 Year Old Virgin and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.  Jason Segal is just downright likeable despite being this kinda unattractive, gigantic friendly bear on screen.  Both Emily Blunt and Alison Brie are in it, both performing really well too.  One thing I admired was that it hit an all too common problem that most couples run into at some point and make their point through a metaphor about "old donuts".

I recommend it; it's a bit longer than it needs to be (I call this a common problem in Apatow-style flicks though); but one thing I loved that another reviewer put better than I did, was that the characters in these flicks are people you really just wanna "hangout" with.
7191  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: A possibly overlooked reason for the downturn of JRPG's sold in the U.S.? on: September 28, 2012, 11:50:35 AM
I remember asking "wtf is Qoga?", someone said, "it means 'life' in the ArTone language!!!!!"

WHAT THE HELL GOOD IS THAT TO ANYONE??  I thought that was a terrible name, without a doubt ostracized some people curious about the title and can't make sense of it...  it was bad enough "Ar Tonelico" technically means nothing beyond fancy being a video game name.

JRPGs can be pretty bad for these in-game referencial titles.  Radiant Historia is a bit of a mouthfull (and just down right confusing when people remember a similar-sounding PS2 title), and again, doesn't really mean anything.

Recent WRPG example would have to be Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning  I get the first half, but I assume the "reckoning" was put in because a sequel would have a different name.  Maybe I'm complaining about this one because there was no consistency with it at work, sometimes we'd have it filed under "K" for Kingdoms or "R" for Reckoning.

Sort of an aside, anyone remember the beautifully redundant game title: Divine Divinity??  Brilliant!!

I really don't think someone won't touch a game if they can't make sense of the title; I actually think people are more likely to judge a book by its cover than by its title.  People ask me about "El Shaddai" all the time.

Did you try the Atelier series ? I first gave them a chance this gen and I had a lot of fun with Atelier Rorona, Totori and Meruru.

I'm surprised we've had no mention of Ayesha... shame, cuz it sounds like it got rid of the crappier parts of the Arland [?] series.

Everyone hear the vocal version of Terra's theme song (ff6)??
I should have added this when we talked about it -- anyways, I actually thought it was a nice rendition.
7194  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: What's the haps? on: September 28, 2012, 02:16:19 AM
I'm going to go home after all that, take off all my clothes

Was there more to that post?

(Btw welcome to miderms)

I just found out I have three weeks of vacation in December. \(^^)/
Scuba diving!

I had some editing troubles, changed what I wrote, deleted, forgot to put back, posted, and you caught it.  Haha
But year, seriously.  Good news about midterms is a lot of games come out around them, specifically Assassin's Creed and Res 6 which involve lots of killing as an outlet for exam frustration. :D

The Office: new ep was pretty good; I liked seeing a Pam and Jim centric episode (which we got barely any of the last season), and them with a conundrum I'm sure every couple has at least once.  The English broad has lingered too much, and I didn't get Andy and Erin's plot --or at least it was better without Andy meddling like the annoying tit he is.  Definitely feels like this season is gonna try to wrap up a lot of characters into a happy ending.

Elementary:  Not bad!  Joining the fray of Sherlock Holmes-related adaptions is one with a female Watson ("Joan" Watson, played by the very foxy Lucy Liu), and taking place in NYC.  One thing that bothered me about the Guy Ritchie flicks and the BBC adaptions was how Sherlock....kinda became a caricature; a joke, something that was easy and fun to exaggerate.  The first time you see Benedict Cumberbatch is him thrashing a corpse like an angry cat (stupid analogy, but the dude seriously looks like a cat); while Robert Downy is seen in drag and drinking eye medicine.  It is fun -- and I *love* it for what it is; but I still liked this version as a more sombre, serious look at the characters.  It still has its sense of fun and has its crazy deduction (less imagery heavy than both of the UK productions), but the first episode was better than I thought it'd be for a series riding the coat-tales of Sir Arthur's books.  It was slow to start, but I'll keep watching this to see where it goes.  I'm wondering if they're gonna play on the "bromance" of John and Sherlock with an actual romance... seems like an excuse to do so at least.

Veep: I love the cast and I love the awkward situations of the USA VP office.  Great show, short seasons.  I especially love the look into "political correctness" and how serious press is to people of high-authority -- how much they have to spin even minor incidents, and of course, how much shit talking goes on when the cameras aren't looking.  Julia Louis Dreyfus has aged freaking brilliantly too, she's not bad to look at for a 50 year old, and I love a woman who can handle herself in a comedy when usually the spotlight is on men in these shows to do that.

New Girl:  I love this show; nothing too terrible happens and it's got a great sense of humor.  New season is back in full form, and Schmidt breaking through as a stand out character on the show.

Meanwhile, on the otherside of Lard's perfect world is Dice's.

Next week:
A Presentation,
A Seminar,
A Paper,
And a Paper.

Then I'm going to go home after all that, take off all my clothes, dip in the tub for an hour in hot water, and lie in bed with a hot chocolate.  Then spend the night playing Res Evil 6???

Is it good?
7198  Media / General Games / Re: Resident Evil 6 on: September 27, 2012, 11:31:19 PM
Its so obviously focused on co-op that it barely feels like I should be playing this solo

Speaking I have NO interest in this game except for co-op play... I'm really happy to see this. :)

I'd probably turn lesbian for that kinda cheddar.

Still kinda sad I guess.

Ah well, pretty Asian lady inside, Yoda, click.
7200  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Good import games for PS3/PSP/DS? on: September 27, 2012, 02:21:47 AM
Tales of Eternia is UK-only, but if you like Tales games, it has some of the best music and combat in that series.

Combat? Questionable (Reid really does all the work, and I think Max and Chat were last minute additions since only their final skills are worth it).
Music?  Definitely a soft spot for it there.

ToE was awesome portable gaming as well.

Was FFT-0 pitched at all?
If you have a JPN PSN account, just look at the amount of stuff there you could potentially buy.
I doubt I'd go to Japan for the games since I can't really understand it -- but for fashion and accessories or cool ass toys I'd go crazy.
