I played the demo of Robotics;Notes (that's the successor to Steins;Gate in case you don't know) for like 7 hours.  I was not planning or expecting it to take that long.  It's almost 4am as I'm writing this.  Jesus Christ if you're going to make a 7 hour demo in include a freakin save function...

There are full games shorter than this demo.

I giggled. xD
I just hope it was good now

Went to Toronto today and drank all day in the sun. I feel like balls.

You're in the GTA????????

I loved the voices in B-K and this. x)
Especially love the head bobbling.

Stunning stuff -- I love how clear the game looks when compared to the PS2 (though I don't recall the PS2 version looking that bad).  Was it hard??  Don't know if I can handle a hard game right now, I'm all thumbs lately.

Either way, this looks like a purchase.

This series keeps going backwards.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ys

It's not pronounced 'ease'. The final sibilant in ease is voiced. The s in Ys is not.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ys_(series)

The game is phonetically "イース" or "iisu".  The last vowel sound there doesn't get pronounced in Japanese, so it's 'iis"  or "ease".

I've never played one of these games, is that how they pronounce it in the translation as well?

Funny when Japanese gives the pronunciation away better than my mother tongue

Got almost all the trophies in Uncharted 3. There's a ton of unlockables in the multiplayer mode also, maybe a little too much really.

Y's

I never got why so many people write the name of the game like this when anyone can clearly see Ys. Not Y's, YS or whatever.

Not that I'm annoyed by this or anything, is just a thing that catch my attention.

Calling it "yeez" sounds just as weird.  I take either spellings/pronunciations

The anime fan hates giant eyes all of a sudden.

I'll never understand you people

I'm just not a fan of Ricci.  I think I've complained more about anime than even watched it like some old asshole would complain the same way.

I actually liked Norris for some weird raisin.  Viper too (maybe it was just cool to have a Manor's lord on board.... RHYME POINTS).

Starky...was ok, later on.
Unfortunately, I wanted to get Glen, and dual-wielding.. so that fucked all character planning.  Maybe I should give the game another go -- but the fair way.

I found Minecraft to be boring.

If you don't have a "project" to do in that game, it will be.

I love games that throw their genre into their title name
7196  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: A MM/ALttP Remake!? on: June 16, 2012, 11:24:52 PM
I hated MM merely for the fact that I was forced to play as kid Link for the whole game.

I didn't mind it thanks to the Bunny Hood and eventually the Gilded Sword giving you some badly needed basic combat reach. Additionally the Zora masks basically makes you into a bastardized version of Adult Link and is a good substitute for the Gilded Sword if you're playing minimalist or something.

I'm actually really fond of the arsenal Link gets in this title.  Granted the tools aren't nearly as creative as future installments (the fucking Spinner and Ball & Chain -- BITCH PLEZ!!! ...but a FUCK on the Vacuum bullshit).  But the Swords Y. Link gets are pretty awesome, plus some of the creative uses of masks (even aside the Deku, Zora, and Goron ones) is great.

I'm having trouble picking a favorite Zelda these days otherwise between what Nostalgia yells at me and what innovation brought into it.

Raze's posted picture angers me.... >:(

I thought if anything suffered in Radiant Historia, not so much setting, but the interface was pretty "bleh".  The menu and controls didn't feel to responsive and lacked a sort of finesse you see in other titles.  And for a game with such awesome 2D graphics, it was kind of left only to battles.  Raynie had giant dotted eyes, but Stocke had eye-whites and a mouth.  Then Rosch rushes in being twice the size of every damn character.  Other character sprites even got noses when no others did.  Then the frame-rate, again outside of battle only (in battle they were outstanding!), was pathetic.  Stock had a 3-frame running animation when his normal STANDING battle stance looked at LEAST 7.  And for that late a game in the DS cycle, and for how big the fields were, it's a shame we only had 4-direction treatment than at least 8 (again factoring in to why the game felt weird to play sometimes, it does sort of feel restrictive).

I ramble.  But yeah, for a game about time travel, the game was surprisingly linear.  I guess the fact you could technically go to any point you wanted despite all that was good though.  I like how at least the bad ending showed pretty dire consequences; half of the CC/CT ones are...sorta stupid, and FF13-Poo didn't even try at all to make a good story let alone an [alternate] ending.

EDIT: Speaking of ludicrous or "convenient" plot elements -- anyone else *hate* that a major plot point involved going into the ocean to retrieve the engine of an ALIEN...ALIEN spaceship???  Not to diss on Starky, he is adorable... but both he and the shit as a plot device felt incredibly contrived.

Only Agent D could hate on a movie where a mostly nude christina ricci is chained to a radiator.

She looked like she had rabies in it... the giant eyes didn't help

I wonder how much of this cutoff was nerdrage and how much of it was Battleship bombing at the box office and the powers that be not exactly seeing dollar signs with Bay.

I'm glad Battleship bombed, proves there is some sense in movie-goers.
