Didn't Gamestop buy out EB
Many memories of hanging around the EB in Carousel mall as a youth pondering their PSOne and Dreamcast collections in relation to how much money was in my pocket. Had to have enough left to go to the food court, haha
Good times. I was definitely a mall rat in middle school. lol

Carousel Mall? Sounds like... San Bernardino or close by.

Yeah GameStop bought them. They still carry the EB name in Canada though (unless a new location opens up, then it's a GS).

I liked EB. GS is always hit or miss here.

I like our EB, except this olde EB still takes the Boutique part literally - it is the tiniest place ever.

Same thing keeps happening with Chapters.  Any new Chap locations are under Indigo (even though the former title makes more sense).  Speaking of Chapters, my closest one just renovated the Kids section.... and made it 5 times the size it was.  It's weird how these book stores are more about atmosphere now.  Kids section is HUGE, and the home decor and office supplies blew up in size too. Pfft, kids don't like to read!!!

What the hell. Sorry, off-topic.

One day it has no plans to come here, the next day we're getting trolled?  How unlike Atlus...or any company to be so wishy-washy...

When asked directly they're going to say "No" even if they'll announce it the next day. Only a leak would get them to admit it pre-emptively.

Mm, I dig that, I just found the statement a bit dead-ended at first in regards to it, is all.

Anyways, YouTuber MasterLL (purchaser and quite the talented JRPG-er on YouTube) has been putting up videos.  Amazingly done cutscenes to say the least.  More than that though, I'm really happy to see Soejima's style in longer animated sequences (and certainly higher budgeted than P3 was).  The transition to 3D was quite gallant as well.

... is it weird to say how much Vince's eyelashes irk me?  Funny how despite guys being as pink-lipped as girls, games avoid the aspect.  Same goes for lashes.  $0.02.

First 3DS shipment (400k) sold out in a matter of minutes.

So much for expense.
I'm surprised no one here is bragging about it - did anyone get it?
I personally didn't find the launch titles appealing, so...

Anyways.
My mum, who's on a leave of absence from work, had done a vacation to the Dominican only a few months back, and had the [metaphoric] balls to say to me that she needs another one.  Makes me wonder what the hell do I deserve?  I think the last vacation I had was when I was fucking 12 years old.  Oh, and I did have that one day at the local, Lake Ontario beach...but that was for one day, and (I posted it here a while ago) when a large-ass fish was beached, missing an eye and it had a hunk of wood lodged into it's mouth.  Needless to say, I was a bit annoyed (she's the family "princess" as is).

On a better note, I finally got the Christmas gift I asked for from my brother.  2 months late, but his finances were tight.  And I'll forgive the fact that
a) The EBgames/Gamestop gift card I wanted is...LITERALLY a 5 minute walk from his house
b) He bought his girlfriend 10 gifts, and a $75 "treasure box" to put them in (fine fine, they have a different kind of relationship)
c) 2 month wait, but at least he had the money to plan a vacation to Mexico that he's leaving for tomorrow

It may sound petty; but c'mon, I always believed blood was thicker than water here.

Sorry, I'm a bit bitter.  Lots of shit due in school, and my lab partner is a bit mentally insane I think.  That, and a lot of other problems are driving me up the wall; I just hate when my family has their head up their asses sometimes (home is supposed to be your sanctuary!).

no fuck no I put WAY more effort into those pics than you get in an adult swim show. They must've taken me at LEAST 10 minutes in MSpaint.

A rather bizarre trend of some of the Adult Swim shows.  No way in hell Aqua Teen Hunger Force strained any sort of budget.

Oh well, if I hate it I only spent about $10 on Amazon.com brand new. I can just take it to GameStop for a few bucks but maybe i'll really like it.

Enjoy the music at the very least.  [Un]fortunately, it was the best part about it.

Ooooh manthat last one had me giggling non-stop and I cannot pin-point why and how it did that!!!

The only TV event I celebrate is the Eurovision, which is the best show ever made.

Oh Romania....do a song we'd all know you for.

This one's on my iPod though, coincidentally both representing Romania, but harder to tell on this one.

There are plenty of good long hour movies, but they're definitely not the easiest to get revved-up about to re-watch.  I loved Lord of the Rings, but I can't just sit and start a marathon even if I really wanted to.  I'm not saying long movies are bad, many are good and take advantage of the length to tell a good story.  I'm just calling it more of an investment.

I'm curious about this Dark Days now..

I actually had no idea Pulp Fiction was that long. That's a mark of a good movie, making time fly.

Kong is too long

TWSS

Surprisingly, huh?  Especially for a movie that's mostly perpetual yakking.

Which reminds me, the last episode of House spoofed Pulp.  I was happy and giggly.
7195  Media / The Soundroom / Songs that remind you of times... on: February 26, 2011, 04:56:21 PM
Odd topic.  But I've always loved music for it's ability to almost take you back to what you felt when you heard it.
Got any particular moments?

--- Few of mine...

Unlimited SaGa OST: reminds me of when I worked at a chair company in Toronto, it's where I first heard, and listened the fuck out of it.  This actually goes for the Zweii II OST (find it, FIND IT, if you can - it's fucking awesome).

The Beautiful Mistake: reminds me of the gym, had a few of their tracks on then, and now it just kinda sticks.

Bigwig, Still (and various other punk/ska): highschool, it was at an all-time highlight then.

Bif Naked, Spaceman: reminds me of the drive to my drama classes back when I was in gradeschool.  I loved this song.

Avishai Cohen: little-known jazz musician, reminds me of a boy I liked, who got me into jazz, but also reminds me of Greece, when I went there and had some of Cohen's stuff on my MP3 player.

Kirby Super Star OST: Christmas time.  My bro and I played the game like mad when we were getting ready for "santa" to arrive.

Community was fucking incredible this week, as was 30 Rock.

MAGNITUDE

I wanted the old, farting, white-hispanic dude to win the election!  But indeed, South Park was a worthy candidate.  Did you notice when they showed the President Profiles they misspelled "Kryptonite" as KYPtonite???
7197  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently Viewed Movies Episode 2: The Vampire Bites Back on: February 26, 2011, 04:31:46 PM
I'd say I'd enjoy King Kong mildly for it's effects, crazy creatures, and decent action scenes but I don't want another lecturing.

I'll say I didn't like it for it's sheer length....

Only one movie over the 2.5 hour mark has my undivided attention.  And that's Pulp Fiction.
7198  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Super RPGFan Game Journal IV - The New Warriors: The Revenge The Movie The Game on: February 26, 2011, 03:52:39 PM
Tales of Eternia (PSP).

I hated Gnome's Cavern... only to have it followed with Chat's Hut (8 floors of silly puzzles).  Gnome's sucked for the amount of backtracking, and Chat's sucked more for the irritating enemies that give garbage EXP (combo's aren't much fun in this title, and they provide the EXP bonuses).  FUCKIT.  Looking forward to like...all 8 of the bonus dungeons in this game IIRC.

The fruit of your labour will not go unnoticed

I wish strawberries and bananas could be sweated out then or something.  Though disturbing, if only the world was more magical...

I know that Atlus loves to spam people and all that, but this is taking things a little bit too far IMO. I don't know, for me this is a really bad joke...

Yeah, that's just weird...
