ICO isn't as fun as I remembered it.  The combat is frustrating.  Oh well.

Never did care[?] for that aspect of the game much at all. Just came off as unnecessarily tedious.

Yorda...  Yorda...  Bitch is useless!

Just started watching the second season of True Blood last night. The show really pretty much sucks, but Nan seems to like it, so I guess I'll keep watching it with her.

The first disc of season 6 of Doctor Who should show up today.

Aw, you're such a nice hubby.

Is it like one of those shows that you don't like, but like a cartoon, it's entertaining at the very least?

I`m not exactly impressed with the visuals, but I`m still stoked for this! It`s a Falcom game and they (almost)never suck.

Come on, it's a port of an early 90s game, though I don't know whether touched up the visuals from the PC or SNES version or made them from scratch. Presumably they touched up one of the versions? I think it has a certain Suikoden V vibe that I kind of like.

"Touched up" is quite the understatement... And it already can't be a port because of the inclusion of extra characters in addition to Adol. It's a full blown remake, but it may not be that either because Falcom never made their own version of Ys IV. They're finally making their own version of Ys IV, which makes this a lot more exciting than the news of most remakes.

In regards to just the visuals though: They look barely better than PSP... which makes me wonder if this was originally a PSP game before they saw the Vita announcement and decided "fuck it, we'll just port our work up to that."

That, and/or Japanese just suck at graphics nowadays.

OMG, I foresee the tear ducts getting a workout by the end of the game. I'm thinking "beloved dog dies at the end after heroic act" type sadness. This looks incredible.

Haha I like how this was a common reaction, especially given the sort of "grim nature" these games have had thus far.

I don't even gonna watch this and is not because of fear of spoilers it's just because I've lost big part of my interest in this game since it was announced... you know by now what is my opinion in waiting more than 3 years for a game. Yeah I know this is Team Ico, but still, I wish they stop doing this.

I just think of what other goods are always being released to make the pain less.

Ah god... the guy at the 30 second mark... his deep, slow, throat-y voice drives me nuts ((nuance)). -____o

Great looking game, and the fact they rendered that creatures feathers (what looks like) separately is an amazing feat.   But I'm inclined to agree: the development has been a stupidly long amount of time.  I'm sure we'll see where all that time went... but by god, I hope this game is longer than the first two titles because of it.

I'm honestly surprised you can actually "rent" games anymore.

Do you use an online service?

Haha I was about to say, I wouldn't know where to rent anymore...  How do you anyhow?

I don't like killing Colussi :( ...but I must for some dead skirt.

Also, I'm surprised the 3rd guy didn't kill himself as it took me FOREVER to get him

For some reason, I don't think the controls, especially on colossi are the same in this version...

You mean they fixed the camera?

Har d har.  No, no.  For some reason I feel like I'm wobbling on the colossi a lot more than before.

Yeah having never played it I can't say yay or nay to that but the controls aren't perfect. The horse blows ass, and the camera angle tries to be more cinematic than helpful.

The game is awesome though. The thrill of fighting those creatures is awesome and they look amazing and move about wonderfully.

Blame realism in part for the horse.  They deliberately made Agro's controls kinda wonky to be more in tune with "the feel" of a wild horse that doesn't necessarily obey you 100% of the way.  I kinda like it for that.  Same for the camera angle being off-center to see the surrounding field better than 50-50 both ways.  Err, I think it's just one of those "stylistic touches" you deal with. =/

Quick Q... I remember sucking at this game, but... is it just me, or did the colossi fur get really greasy??  I seem to be losing my grip and getting easily "shaken" by the colossi much more easily...

Sitting in benches that look just like part of the scenery.  They don't exactly stick out.  And I believe you have to be with Yorda as well.  Can't save if you're by yourself.

Hmmm, I thought the couches stood out almost as much as those blocks you have to push! There's a place to sit for two people. It made sense to me, I guess.

Haha I personally thought they stuck out enough.  Yorda sort of runs at it the second she sees it, and it...glows.  I hate figuring out the controls though, it took me a good 30 seconds to figure out how to get us both to sit on it...
I'm not really one to talk, though.  More often than not, I completely lack common sense otherwise and make mistakes I'm sure others would call me a dumbass for.

I love that song when you save up though.

He even loved Re:Coded (the DS game from earlier this year) to death.

I like how you reminded us which one it was in case that title had already flew off our radars.
