From new game journal.

Quote
I like it so far, but not completely sold yet (too much goddamn dialogue, and like 5 battles thus far... get on with it!!).  I'm not sure whether I love or hate the artwork and spritework.  The stark black shadows annoys me in the artwork, and so does the sprites' meager frame rate (outside of battles anyways, the in-battle ones look great!! ...which is odd, it's like they gave up for the field sprites).  Great music so far, but the prologue last an hour and we hear about 3 recycled tracks.  I like the game, but the lack of polish adds a bitter taste.  I'm at the "first big choice", I think (the twins are making a big deal about a node, so...).

Super Happy Fun Super Journal!
I like it because 'super' is in it...not once, but twiiiice.

Finally playing Radiant Historia.

I know fuckall about the series... but I'd pay and kill to see this done in a videogame.

My vote is on Madoka for MVP of the season. 2-chan also agrees.
If they don't mess up with the ending, that's going to be an incredibly good show. (anime mess up endings 95% of the time)

Considering it's competition, that's like saying that Lunar is the best JRPG to come out on the SegaCD.

That said.

@Dice: Were you seriously expecting something else coming from the guy who did a visual novel where the main character sees nothing but body horror among other things? With that said, it obvious that it gets worse.

Code:
For instance magical girls are little more than glorified liches, that become witches after succumbing to despair, in an existence of nothing but despair, all for the sake of aliens needing to harvest emotions to patch up the universe currently existing on borrowed time.

Obviously, don't read the code if you don't want the spoilers.

Haha - wooow.  I have an enormous respect for the author... mainly for taking the sort of romance visual novel and magical girl plots into some sort of dark extreme version of them.

Watching the opening now feels like some sort of cruel joke in a sense - it certainly doesn't represent the show, but mocks what these types of shows usually contain.  It's genius...!!...??

Some games have ridiculous achievements to obtain and I generally don't care for ones that are either stupidly tedious ("do _____ x times), or ones that require a long as time to acquire. Just not worth it and prove little about talent. Worst yet is the final hit to the ass, "get all other trophies" for the platinum prize. Too bad there's no other incentive to platinum a title (a buck off PSN or something).

Some are fun to get. And some I go out of the way for. But some just suck.

Speaking the title's a month away, you'd think there would be more information being posted about it.... or a website at least.

According to VGChartz Rorona sold more in the west than in Japan which would make a localization a good business.

I don't mean to doubt something I can't prove.... but for some reason, that just feels...not true.  Mighty hell if it is.

Sweet Jesus Ass McHell.  Minor, early series spoilers, the cutesy styling of Puella Magi Madoka Magica is extremely deceiving.  Redundant title aside, you get lured into this magical-girl fantasy, where our heroine wears pinks, and her high school friends transform, and they fight witches along some cute wish-bestowing creature... and then you're treated to a beheading of one of the girls 3 episodes in!!  And, no, it doesn't get better.

Available for stream [for now?] - but I kinda like this darker take to the magical-girl plot.  For one, there's more story here than Sailor Moon had it's entire 5 or something years on air.

I do recommend it, feed your curiosity for some cruel animated stuff, and feed the guilty pleasure for cute colours and transforming highschoolers as being marginally amusing.

Seems like Rorona flopped here to justify a Totori (or is it too soon to speak).

Meh.  I need more out of these games to really consider them. =/
Lovely art as of late though (forgot the artists name, Mel?  She's wonderful).

Reliving the nostalgic moments in my childhood I guess?

Also, manchild as Mesh said.

+1 to that too. I have no shame in occasionally enjoying the kiddy stuff, not just pokemon. :p

I'd come in with an army of Psyducks.

with a very inappropriate name for Denim that I'm proud of).

Well, you can't say that and not tell us what it is!

I second that. Don't worry, we all have a good sense of humor here.

EDIT: la di di laaa lo laaa

I bought this goddamn game without a DS.  It better be good as I leave myself to overhype until my bro gives it back (which will be soon; I have leverage with Tactics Ogre, a game he loves more than me.... I already started a file...with a very inappropriate name for Denim that I'm proud of).

I looked into it, and to get the true ending, you have to get all the other endings (10 in total). Now to get each ending, you have to complete a certain side mission which I won't get into detail about. Technically, the real ending is just another scene after the regular ending, but again, I like the normal ending, it's very heroic in itself.

Is it just me, or does the term "heroic" have a bad connotation to it nowadays??

ie; it connotes to a "heroic death" more than an act.
