If I were to give this game a mark out of 10, it would automatically get deducted a full mark for having a fucking sewer level in 2011.

Fuck this shit.

Actually, this one was extremely tame.  It's essentially all East, dead-ends otherwise, head North, then head West a wee bit.  No complex switch choices, you're supposed to hit em all. :D

I actually thought the graphics were okay.  Maybe real just got too close anime.

A game you have that you have to pay attention to? No fair!

I know how she feels.  Thank god for Xenosaga and MGS4.  I loved napping in between play periods.

It sucks. Like my life.

Omg, total teen right there.

I remember a one month phase I had where I wore Nomura pants.
i.e.; black, with zippers.

Yeah, I didn't bother with this.  I'm sure people are enjoying it, and I'm desperate for a new good game... but not this desperate.  The olde FF formula doesn't really work on me, and IV is just under the cut (I love/d FFV still).

This. Well, maybe blame the VA director, but given the track record of the company that localized SO4 and some of those actors (Laura Bailey) it's pretty clear tri-Ace made an absolute piece of shit that you could only TRY, in vain, to pretty up.

QFT. 8-4 does amazing localization work, and I think it's safe to say that SO4's *source script* was poopoo from the start. I mean, compare SO4 to DQVI and Nier. Also, this bio is made of win:

8-4 is a video game localization company based in Shibuya, Tokyo. When we’re not lovingly translating your favorite RPG or junior-high ballet trainer/dating sim, we enjoy hunting monsters, recording podcasts, and making our interns perform live re-enactments of scenes from Chaos Wars.

I said it first...!  He quoted me! ... props to me.. yeeaah.  I'm like that.

I really don't want a "gimmick" console, I like controllers.

You see, I see Chicago as a beautiful "Chica" leading her players to victory.
7674  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Hockey Thread! on: April 25, 2011, 12:21:09 PM
I just hope Chica wins the next one, might be tough being the "away" team.... but hey, they one the cup that way.  Loved yesterday's game

I left family Eastern dinner because girl at work.... eugh, is complaining her "flow" is so fucking painful and heavy she has to go home.  I'm taking my sweet ass time as you can see.  I fucking hate an all-female staff.  I filled up on lovely desserts and traditional Ortho-Easter meal before going so....  (I wouldn't do it, but I need the money that bad).

I'm in the middle of chapter 2 and haven't felt that way at all, Aeolus.  I've just been playing normally and haven't lost a single battle.  The game seems pretty easy, really.  I haven't felt the need to do anything to 'break' it.  I tend to keep my S-Breaks in reserve but then end up not using them at all.  I did run from one fight early on but it was a monster-in-a-box that I wasn't expecting and clearly wasn't prepared for.

And the game seems to actively discourage grinding since if your level gets too high for the enemies you're fighting they barely give you any rewards.

Yeah the game is pretty easy.  I got game over twice but it was just some bad luck/simple mistakes both times.  I like that running from battles actually works in this game.  Not like some games >_>

I will say though that the last area is pretty annoying and the chest monsters there take way too long to kill (and there are like 17million of them).  I seriously think that is my least favorite part of the game.  It's such a generic ass dungeon and the battle theme there isn't as good as the normal one either.

I love the option to run away freely, I hate being punished for not anticipating a tough fight, and game over's suck dick when you saved a while back.  Commonly, player "restructuring" is all you need to fix a battle up.

I realized what made me want the 2nd Chapter to bad: the fact they end it on a cliff hanger to even bigger things is a dick move. =(

I hate when TV and movies have fake mac/pc interfaces... for some reason, these computers love making "blips" and "bleep" noises when they're processing or loading things.  Same with consoles, for some reason, current gen games also suffer 8-bit sounds.

That link led me to this:
Sweet jesus did they give up???

Swedish Mealtime is fucking rockin' and awesome.

I think one Kay is enough to fulfill many potential Kay's.
7679  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: What keeps you going everyday? on: April 23, 2011, 10:09:23 PM
Damn good question, Ms. Dice.
I'm a bit older than a lot of you, so I can offer a different perspective on the question. I've already been through college, shit jobs that don't pay, and relationships that are going nowhere. I have a good job in the field I love(Landscaping) that pays me well enough to be comfortable. I've been married for 12 years now, and have a 10 year old son.
What keeps me going everyday? For one, a cure for thishttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibromyalgia, which I have been diagnosed with after years of going to doctors and getting no answers. FYI: It sucks.
On the more positive side, I am an avid(read:fanatical) gardener, and can't wait to get out there each day to see what's going on, and get my hands dirty. There is nothing I'd rather be doing.
I love doing things with my son. Like teaching him all about gardening(shocker!), and how to respect all living things. Seeing his eyes light up in delight over discovering a cool new bug, or figuring out a problem that stumped him, truly makes me happy. He's a damn good kid, and I am very proud of him.
My wife, who is truly my best friend, and can make me smile on the days when I really need to. A hug from her can make the pain go away, if only for a few seconds. Her determination and strength are beyond admiration, and I only wish I had half as much. Not to mention that she's a total geek(Vampires, horror movies, etc.), which makes it easy for her to understand my own obsessions.
Mushy stuff aside, the woman's got an ass that won't quit. And I get to see it everyday! Life is good.
; - )
Plus, I really DO look forward to certain new movies coming out, watching great shows like Dr. Who, etc.

and Mass Effect 3

Of all responses, I'm amazed and happy at how honest this one was, Grim.

I'm actually ashamed to say that my mum also suffers the same disease, no cure, and specialists and meds up the wa-zoo. Ashamed because I feel it's what's driving her and I apart at times.  But I'm also happy to see that your life seems, generally, okay otherwise; good wife/best friend, and a wonderful boy (who I'm sure is just the sweetest thing and in a good home).

I'm generally quite anti-social, I'm good at it, but I generally prefer to be without company aside a few people.  I'm happy to say I don't really feel lonely though, only at rare times.  I think it's time I answer me own question; and it's my hobbies keep me going.  My interests, my passions, my loves in this life.  The fact that most can be done at home and without people make me happy.  A job, a walk, a book, some time to draw, to cook, to create, to learn whatever.  This forum has been great company, not only to my gaming interests, but the people here aren't complete retards.  I love the internet for that in general, connecting odd hobbies, especially if the people who like them aren't exactly living close to each other.

Generally, I'm easy to please as well, so it doesn't take a lot to keep me going and to keep me happy.

(added for Dice - but the combat was superb.)
