Anyone know if the speech challenge achievement for Fallout 3 is for a single playthrough or across multiple games? I'm stuck in the 30s (need 50) and I'm pretty much done w/ the game. just the broken steel missions

Hmm.  I thought it was just a matter of being a chatty-idiot to everyone and about everything.  I can't remember when I got it though...

I'm about to give up on Wild Arms 3. Has anyone ever completed this game without a FAQ??

Oh man I feel you there.  I tried playing that game years ago when it came out and while I loved a good deal of the presentation (such as the changing opening movie) I missed one of the key tools needed to solve some puzzles and I just didn't want to go back to collect the item I missed...

Though I'm back trying Record of Agarest War again so judge my soul accordingly...

Wow, there is a lesser of two evils there, and it is Agarest.  At least WA3 can stimulate your mind to some extent.
Nevermind, this forum is full of guys.

Sounds fair except

Magic Knight Rayearth

That game was awful and I feel like I just lost both my testes announcing I played it =/

I remember playing that on the SNES emulator (since it wasn't coming here unless hell froze and heaven burned) - the thing I liked about it was playing it at 2x speed - the boss theme sounded wicked then (double kick drum and everything).

cool thing on Kotaku about drinking in vidya games.

Chick is cute

I stopped watchign when you said she was cute.... brrrr.
The article was a good read.  An strangely simple point I never really considered.  People blatantly act drunk when in reality they just try to act sober.  I will consider this for my thursday drama classes!

Kinda makes me want to play the Tales games I own, although I dont own but a few. (Tales of Destiny, Eternia, Phantasia on the GBA and Symphonia)

I'm in the same boat.  I have Phantasia(psx remake), Destiny, Eternia, Symphonia and Abyss.  Not sure which I should try first, cursed collecting habits!!

If you can like the first few, you're gold after that, because it gets graphically, story-ily, and battle-ly more superior and refined.

I like Leia/Reia design too.  Inomata's first for not letting me down.

The demo might have been easier, y'know?  Who's to say the game doesn't get stupid hard and fast-paced?

Consider me skeptical.  If that many complained to warrant a patch, then I'm thinking the game might actually be a bit of a fuck in the ass.  I know I'd complain, these types of games make me nervous... and I guess if the gameplay is as basic as a moving-block, tower-climber, Atlus saw fit to make it a hard one... probably on par with NES puzzlers.... brrrr..

Let's make a game where you have to kill the EVIL LORD WIZARD by menstruating on him to death.

I'm completely lost on this thread now.

Yesterday was my birthday. Nothing extravagant occurred, but was still nice hanging out with some friends. Today, sore throat, then a headache with slight dizziness. Great aftermath! :p

Happy Birthday! :D

I HATED PLAYING NEW GAMES when the memory card is FULL.. ;____;
That happened to me mooore than enough.

I'm*finally* playing Tales of Eternia.  Awesome game, but really lost the humour that Destiny had, but certainly offers a more fulfilling experience.  The AI is retarded and likes to avoid conflict, and I think developers knew this by giving Reid (the hero) a weapon acquiring ratio of 8:1 compared to the rest of the party...  Awesome 2D graphics, but some elements didn't port well to the PSP (some graphic clipping, and sounds and music get awkward at times).
I'm also super glad that copy doesn't have the infamous "Volt Glitch" - I lucked the fuck out.

I just made an awesome breakfast burrito with leftover steak, red pepper, eggs, and tons of cheese.

Immediate hangover cure.

Not surprising, the japs like it easy.

I blame visual novels and ero games for requiring about as much brain power as it takes to learn to use a microwave.

But still, I'm curious.  This is also coming from the country that has arcade districts.... must be kinda tough.

I've only seen a handful of the Ghibli movies-- Spirited Away and HMC are my favourites.

Bought some anime films while I was out today! Intend to watch them this week and I'm pretty sure I'll like (if not love) them: "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time", "Kiki's Delivery Service" and the "Cowboy Bepop" movie. :D

I don't get the big deal with Cowboy Bebop...

I loved "The Girl who Lept Through Time".  Really sweet, and I love how she deals with "heartbreak" (definitely the most realistic I've seen haha).  A few plot holes (time related of course), and the ending leaves me wanting more (but in a good way).

Kiki's Delivery Service is a simple but sweet affair.  Sadly Phil Hartman's last role before tragedy struck him down..
7679  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Anime/Manga Journal on: February 20, 2011, 03:03:48 PM
Hm...I actually thought the movies were worse. I couldn't get through half of each of them before I had to stop watching. I just can't get into them. I just think they tried to lengthen the show/story unnaturally when it would have fared better ending right around
Code:
L's death.

Anime turned live action seems to be a pretty sore affair.  Gantz's live action just fell into it too (wasted potential).  There's something awkward that happens when you get real people to play anime roles...
Here's High School Debut's live action trailer.  ...yeah (mind you, it's the Shoujo genre, so prone to more silliness than most other flicks).

Anyways, in terms of manga, a shoujo one did capture my heart.  Dengeki Daisy is a great combination of humour, romance, and surprisingly a bit of plot that extends outside of high-school life and into hacker and weapons affair.

HMC was definitely my least favorite Studio Ghibli flick. Still great of course, but... pales in comparison to stuff like Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Porco Rosso etc.

They rebounded big time with Ponyo, though, in my opinion.

I hated Ponyo.  If not for the fact that she was adorable, the film was The Little Mermaid with pre-schoolers.  The breast-feeding scene was just awkward and Ponyo's mom and pop confused me (he wore makeup and she was a gigantic woman?).  It's naive and cute, but did little else to stand out beyond that.  Mind you, I'm happy to see the talent's that get together for Ghibli flicks (I heard Christian Bale was eager to play as Howl after seeing Spirited Away).
