As for games, I'm pretty good at remembering what I've played. There's a few fuzzy moments, like that one hour of Super Mario 64 before I turned it off after the camera made me nauseous.

I actually still remember that myself.  I didn't get nauseous, though, but I remember what it was like for the first time to "adjust to 3D gaming" and getting weirded out by a rotating camera as I moved.... I walked into walls many-a-time.

Casablanca - Finally saw this! I don't know what took so long, but the deed is now done. Was it a good movie? Yes. of course. The best ever? Not by a long shot. But I can see how people at the time may have thought so. It's all very romantic and intriguing, with all sorts of interesting characters, all out for themselves. Oddly enough, the first glimpse inside of Ricks saloon reminded me of Star Wars and the bar scene in that movie. Weird!
Ingrid Bergman was a beautiful woman. Bogart was...Bogart. Always good. I really liked the police captain character, working all sides.
I felt the end was a bit rushed and contrived. The movie could have used another 10 minutes or so to flesh things out. Still, I can see why it is beloved, and am glad I finally saw it.

I felt the exact same when I saw Citizen Kane.  I *loved* it, but certainly not for the amount of love that decades have enamored it with.  Ladies back then were so beautiful, and I love the more classic "love" idea you see.

I have been credited for my ability to retain [pointless] information.  I remember *everything* I've played, even the old-ass-blow-inside-it Nintendo games.  I even remember minor nuances to beating parts or getting secrets.  Same goes with movies, I have a pet peeve with people who can't remember if they've seen a flick or not... way to have 2 hours of your life matter absolutely nothing at all. =P

Its odd, despite all the complaining I do about FFXIII, I'm actually compelled to pick it up again and beat it before the sequel comes out.

I hope they do a recap of the first game in the second one... EVERYONE I've talked to, in my circle, played the hell out of it, but never bothered beating it (not worth the effort). haha

I'll be frank, I played CC twice and I still don't understand anything about the story nor how it relates to CT.

Quote
It's the continuation of what happened to Schala after the Ocean Palace mishap.  She was never heard from in CT again.... till CCross.  There's also a hullabaloo about one of the dimensions undoing what Crono, Marle, and Lucca did, in one of the dimensions, his life/death (forgot which) meant a chain reaction to undoing their future)... forgot how...

If you wanna complain, it's the story flow (which is point A to point C, without explaining where B went), and the clusterfuck plot twists given to you by "Old Man B" at the end.

Heavily Involves Time Travel
No longer takes place on Gran Pulse or Cocoon
Instead takes place on Valhalla where lightning has become a servant to the goddess

lmao

He's right... it is lol worthy....=/

Quick Chrono Question then.... do Magic Tabs even matter for Rob and Ayla?

Doing the sidequest onslaught and loving it.  Magus has "subbed in" for Chrono a bit.  He's got a gold stud-- nuff said.

Chrono Trigger -- finally fought the first hard boss; the dual golems at the sea palace.  Yikes.  Only because I cam prepared was why I won too. x_x
The Lost Santum is... interesting. Left early on.
Robo, Ayla, and Crono are mah bitches.

You people need to watch more movies!
Anyway...

Punch Drunk Love - I generally avoid anything with Adam Sandler in it, as his schtick got old a LONG time ago. I knew this was supposed to be different, though. Heck, "directed by Paul Thomas Anderson" will tell you that.
Such an odd movie this was. It's like the director said to his team, "Lets make the quirkiest rom-com ever!. No one will end up liking it, but who cares? It's quirky!"
So much goes on here that is never explained. Things the characters do and say. It makes it pretty much impossible to care about a single one of them.
I give Sandler a tiny bit of credit for trying something different, but that's as far as I will go.

Seen Magnolia?

Awful shit

I love movies, I love the stranger ones too... but yeah, some of the "film as art" types suck dick.  Magnolia was horrible.  I felt like it had a LOT going somewhere but failed fucken horribly with a lame... deus ex.. machina???  Whatever, it rained frogs and ended.

Punch Drunk Love was cute, but I didn't get.  A lot of emotions, you don't know why people are having 'em.

I remember liking Lost in Translation a lot.... but I hated the fact the best part (the infamous "whisper" at the end) was not even Sofia Coppola's idea, but an improvised scene by the actors... =/

If Japan taught us one thing, it's that love knows no boundary.

Lol, Japanese D Cups make me laugh.

If you add the W-RPGs things are even better:
Dark Souls
TES: Skyrim
Mass Effect 3
(And the recent releases of Deus Ex HR and Dead Island)

If we add Xenoblade and Skyward Sword for the Wii this list is simply paradise!

Please don't call Dark Souls a wrpg. It was developed in Japan by japanese.

Given it's success here and style, easy to mess that up.
7755  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Xenoblade on: September 16, 2011, 11:05:07 AM
FFX: Even though there's no kiss or they don't say "I love you" it's crystal clear Tidus and Yuna love each other.

Code:
Then what explains the scene in the Macalania Forest?

I can't believe I forgot it!!!
That's even better. That psichodelic scene is even better than a sex scene from witcher, dragon age or mass effect to show how much they love each other.

I'm pretty sure the psychedelic scene was a metaphor for them fucking in the lake all night long... guess there is a limit to what you can show.  I actually liked that scene for being up front, unlike (the issue here) where they beat around the bush and at the end of the game, holding hands is as revealing as standing naked before each other.
