Kind of, but it's always nicer to have a physical copy of something because A) you don't need to worry as much about hard-drive space, B) you don't need to worry about the server going down for some reason and C) going out and buying a physical copy of something has a better feeling than just buying it off the internet because you put that much extra effort into the purchase.

Oh, and in terms of premium editions, I concede your point about soundtracks, but some people want posters so they can put them up on a wall, and what about the figurines that tend to come with special editions in Japan, and some American games? There's no good equivalent for downloadable copies.

Ultimately, it would just result in a bunch of fans accusing the company of being cheap.

They're under the Only on PSN link on the store's first page. When you get there, there's a PS2 classics link. The games are under there.

It's a self-perpetuating cycle. Sega thinks it won't sell well, so they don't put any money on advertising, so it actually doesn't sell well because no one knows about it, and Sega then thinks no one liked it even though it was their fault no one knew about it. A lot of companies have that problem.

I think every PSP game unless otherwise stated is a PSN download as well, because of the Go. The only non PSN game I can think of after the Go came out is Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, and I have no idea why that is.

The Idea Factory crossover games almost always come out over here for some inexplicable reason, and the only other games of the same type as Dissidia that I can think of is Tales of Vs. which was very unlikely to be released anyway because of Namco Bandai's apparent policies. The third one is that Falcom designed one, and I think that one is more because Falcom isn't really a huge name here and Xseed has their hands full with Falcom's other games.

If Tri-Ace got Suikoden, it would probably end up something like Radiata Stories.

Okay, that looks creepy.

I don't mind moe when it's like Kanon or Clannad, but that? Eughh.

The faces do look kind of odd, but the superdeformed look has been around since before moe became popular. It shows up a lot in the Slayers and that's much older than the moe movement.

That was odd to watch. Eee!

(The girl kept getting an E grade)

Really, why? It looks fun to me.

Tierkreis was good, just not up to the level of the top Suikoden games. It was better than 4 in my opinion, though.

Even the Final Fantasy games with issues like XIII and Dirge of Cerberus are released here. I think the only exceptions are Final Mix type stuff, which this is not, and the cell phone games, which are because of technology issues. It's pretty likely it'll be released here regardless, even if its just a PSN game.

EDIT: I actually meant Final Fantasy XIV.
358  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: New Tales countdown site on: September 12, 2011, 04:55:32 PM
I personally find Namco Bandai's policies annoying, but it's less that they don't release any Tales games, and more that they refuse to release the 2d games for no clear reason. The last 2d game they released was Tales of Eternia (Destiny II) in 2000 and they never tried again aside from Nintendo basically forcing a localization of Tales of Phantasia for GBA which was frankly a rather bad port.
359  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: New Tales countdown site on: September 12, 2011, 11:23:02 AM
There was a period when they released a Tales game every year in Japan. This isn't exactly strange for Namco Bandai.

I thought Level 5 confirmed the NA release a while ago. It hasn't even been released in Japan, so it makes some sense that they haven't announced an english release.
