I think Shadow of the Colossus is still selling new, at least here in Toronto. That's a good sign, I think

That's a very strange type of reasoning.

Yes, they did on the PS2 called "I.Q. Remix+: Intelligent Qube" It didn't sell well at all.

That might be why.

They said that they'll be UMD special editions.

EDIT: Wait, if Fate/Extra is made by ImageEpoch, what happened to their deal with NISA? It sounds like Marvelous Entertainment and Xseed again.

The only game series with a major difference between translations that I've seen is the Professor Layton series. And that's because the person playing Luke is horrible at putting on a British accent.

This looks really interesting. Why does everyone say the PSP is dead? If you're a fan of RPGs there are great new games coming out a lot!

A lot of companies end up with shareholders who have really odd opinions about the company. Apparently one of the most vocal shareholders at Nestle (the candy company) keeps trying to organize boycotts of the company.

There's a picture floating around that looks like Diadem without the clouds. No one is sure, but Monolith Soft is definitely making a new game for the Wii-U.

I think after Baten Kaitos Origins, which apparently didn't sell too well, Nintendo wrote off all console jRPGs. That's just my opinion, and if it turns out to be true, it isn't a very good reason, as Baten Kaitos Origins didn't have much advertising, and it's been six years since.

It seems kind of strange to me. Nintendo of Japan and Nintendo of Europe are perfectly happy to take risks, but the second a risk comes up for Nintendo of America (on consoles, they seem to be pretty risk happy on handhelds, what with Dragon Quest and Glory of Heracles) they clam up and refuse to really say anything. I wonder what caused the split?

Good point. I just meant that XIII-2 is slated for Fall 2011, and Tales of Graces F is slated for 2012.

I don't think that even Namco Bandai would be dumb enough to rush Tales of Graces F out to compete with Final Fantasy XIII-2.

That monster looks a lot like Anima from X.

You mean the one in Gapra Whitewood?
375  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Microsoft paid Namco-Bandai to not release PS3 version of ToV outside of Japan on: June 20, 2011, 06:14:28 PM
Microsoft seems to have done this a few times, what with Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon. The difference there is that Mistwalker didn't port the games to the PS3. Eternal Sonata is a little odd in this case, but it was probably a trial run for the Tales of Vesperia engine or something in the first place.

One thing that I just remembered though, is that Namco Bandai basically tricked Microsoft into funding Tales of Vesperia for them, and they did the same thing with Tales of Graces. Both were supposed to be exclusives, and they used the money recieved from the games to port them to PS3 and make even more money with a minimum of effort. Tales of Graces probably took quite a bit more effort to port, but you get the idea.
