You mean Akiko Shikata? I ended up importing some of her other cds. The Harmonia album is amazing, and Navigatoria is almost as good.
62  Media / Single-Player RPGs / The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC Announced for Steam/PSP on: September 06, 2013, 01:15:04 PM
From what I've gathered, Third Chapter is more an extended epilogue than anything. The plot is mostly separate with a couple side-plots resolved and some character development.

The guessing is leaning towards the PC version. But regardless of the version, wouldn't it be relatively easy to release FC in whatever version as well?

Xseed is currently teasing something on their Twitter.

It seems to be an extreme closeup on a guy from SC.
65  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Did I get the shittiest KOTOR 2 ending or does the ending just suck? on: August 10, 2013, 06:04:02 PM
The game was rushed really badly for Christmas, so the ending was mostly not finished, Malachor V was apparently supposed to have a lot more stuff, there was a Droid Planet and so on. There is a patch called the Sith Lords Restoration Project that adds a lot of stuff back in, but yeah, the ending does really suck.

Oh, here's something even more infuriating. After the rushed release, Obsidian went to Lucasarts and asked if they could release a patch with all the missing content. Lucasarts said no.

I saw something that was saying Kadokawa games (the japanese publishers of such games as Killer is Dead and Stein's Gate) would be the best choice. They don't have a North American branch, but they apparently want one, and they are apparently doing really well.

You know, they could have done the anniversary thing or whatever by re-translating 2. Because, seriously, that game had a godawful translation.

Oz the Great and Powerful isn't bad. It actually has some twists to the blockbuster formula.

What I would like to see is a TV series that is a direct adaptation of the Oz books. It would be expensive, but it would be nice to see a straight adaptation of a fairy-tale type series than all these subversive remakes.

The problem is that Oz is so incredibly bizarre that most re-imaginings actually make the world much more mundane and boring. Oh, and no one ever looks at the other books, except for a couple plays and Return to Oz. I'd love to see something where Polychrome, Daughter of the Rainbow, was a major character.

Well, there's always rentals, though even then I'd only want to do it GameFly style, and it wouldn't be to BEAT but just to see just how bad it is. Worth reminding yourself every so often of how low it can go.

That's what I'm finding weird about this whole situation. It's not actually that horrible. It is playable, it doesn't have overcomplicated gameplay mechanics that barely work, the roundtable discussion thing drops off sharply after the first chapter, the battle system actually gets better with all the skills and the story has twists that I really didn't expect.

Admittedly, Zack/Drake stays kind of creepy and pervy.

This doesn't mean the game is good, not by far, but it's really not as horrible as it's made out to be. It is very much a bargain bin title, and I think it should have had a budget price though. I way prefer it over Dragoneer's Aria, just because that game has an incredibly slow battle system and the game itself runs at a glacial pace.

The last episode has what can only be described as an orgy in it. And it's a kids show. I recommend it, it's on Crunchyroll if you have a subscription, but I would really not want to watch it with someone else around.

So, I finished the second part and I'm halfway through the game now. And the wedding gets attacked by one of the useless side characters. And it turns out that there's a weird pseudo-timeloop thing going on and to stop it Toki/Towa needs to get (and I'm not kidding here) the Four Somethings from the Great Spirits. The first one is Something Old. I mean, this game is actually kind of growing on me. It's dumb...really dumb, and the gameplay is kind of boring, but the plot uses random cliches in weird places so that while each individual chapter is pretty easy to predict, the central focus of the chapters themselves is actually kind of surprising. In a really stupid "Who'd think that was a good idea?" kind of way. Oh, and the final boss of the second chapter uses a different battle system then the rest of the game for no apparent reason.

Although, I think my opinion is colored by the fact that it was a present, so I didn't actually pay for it. I would be really annoyed if I had paid 50$ for it.

I have discovered a new guilty pleasure anime. Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up! Based off the manga by Go Nagai, it's completely insane and is basically an ecchi. But it's actually really funny, even if it gets really really really weird at times.

The plot is kind of messed up. Okay, so at the start Toki/Towa and Zack's wedding is attacked, right, and Toki/Towa go back in time to prevent it. They prevent it, go to the present and have the wedding. And then a frigging vampire and a ripoff of Pyro Jack attack out of nowhere. The universe hates this wedding so much that random monsters want to stop it.
