I really enjoyed the first Mana Khemia, so I'm gutted the second never got a EU release. I enjoyed the first two games in the Atelier Iris series, but I've found the 3rd very hard to bring myself to finish. I think i'm about the 3rd of the way through, but that's only because i've been forcing myself to play it every once and a while over the past year.
2884  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Anyone planning to pick up Atelier Rorona? on: October 02, 2010, 10:43:16 AM
I have no idea, I like to think no one could be that stupid and off the mark about something, but I've been proven wrong more than once. His problem seems to be playing a girl, which we know causes him to go into hysterics because he created a thread about it in General.

Yeah, they are just saving themselves the likelihood of fundamentalists causing a shit storm, her age doesn't really matter, does it?
2886  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Apathy in the USA on: October 01, 2010, 11:23:18 AM
[This is what I wrote before Dincrest replied to my question]

Oh are we talking politically?

Yeah, well, I'm not apathetic about it. If I was apathetic I wouldn't care when the government fucks up, does bad things, acts like idiots and passes the blame. But I do care when they do that, and it makes me very angry.

While I do care, I guess I've developed a defeatist attitude about it all. When I see injustice, I look around and I all I hear are ignorant comments on the matter. Especially on the Internet, people feel more comfortable expressing their completely ignorant attitudes on matters and it just makes me go "What's the point?" when I feel like I'm in the minority.

[after the reply]

I've had low self-esteem since I was a little kid, as I was bullied a lot and my father is pretty talented and intellegent, so when ever I've tried to do something I care about, I always end up talking myself out of it, telling myself that I can't possibly be any better than people already out there. I don't know if I picked that up environmentally though, I think it's more my own issues of self worth, rather than what the people around me have actively done to put me down.

I definitely do talk myself out of doing the things I want, though don't think i'm not aware of it. It's just like a force that pulls me back, despite my feelings on the subject.

I don't really understand. Could you be more specific? What are people apathetic about?

2888  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Anime/Manga Journal on: October 01, 2010, 07:47:31 AM
I don't think I could describe myself an an anime fan, though I have watched a couple series and movies and enjoyed them just as much as live-action ones. However, I do turn my nose up at the vast majority, and I never seem to be gripped by the really popular ones like, Bleach, Naruto or One Piece.

That being said, I started watching Higurashi: When They Cry last night. The first episode really had me rolling my eyes, as it seemed the epitome of pretty much all the cliche's I don't like in anime. But for some reason, I'm not sure why, I decided to stick with it, and the whole thing got a lot darker, really quickly, and now I'm really caught up the mystery of it all and I'm starting to appreciate it.

The animation isn't the best, they do take a lot of shortcuts, but i'm not the kind of person who gets bothered by that.

You can get a Knickerbocker glory with chocolate sauce, isn't that just the same as a chocolate sundae? Though I think McDonalds only does strawberry and toffee sundaes (I'm not sure, I'm in the same boat as you, not to fond of them).

Though I was totally sincere about the American companies coming over here as a good thing, It's always kinda fun.

@CastNuri: Yeah, you're right I've seen a couple of my English friends tweet about Krispy Kreme's, but I've spotted none here.

Maybe it will be like Subway and Starbucks. First London, then it spreads and spreads until all you see are Subways and Starbucks.

Let the cultural Americanization  - Begin!

Reading some Warhammer 40k book that my bf insisted I read.

It's called "Eisenhorn" and it is rather good. From what i've read anyway.
2892  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: GameCrush..How many of you would pay to play with Dice? on: September 30, 2010, 03:34:52 PM
Yeah,I was just using the general "you". As in, why on earth would anyone pay money for one of the guys to play games with them, when there are so many willing guys out there who will do it for free. *shrug*

It doesn't matter if the girl was a rejected member of the Munsters, there would always be a guy willing to play Halo and try and get in her knickers regardless.

From my experience it's never been hard to get guys to play video games with you :P

@Dice: Okay, the Balamb Garden music gives it a WHOLE different story.

"Omg, omg omg, I've been peirced through the heart with an icicle. Omg, i'm okay now. Omg, i'm being tied to a cross and tortured in leather. Omg, you guys were all in the same orphanage? Omg, I just killed an overweight frog and now my school is flying. Omg, there is a sorceress from the future who is traveling back in time telepathically to take control of a witch that's trapped in outer space? Omg, i'm fighting aliens from the moon? Omg, All of time is folding inward apon itself merging all realities and times into one long string of existence? OMG OMG OMG *BOOM* Phew, it was all just a dream"
