The history of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is now so complicated that every time I tell it I contradict myself, and whenever I do get it right I'm misquoted. So the publication of this omnibus edition seemed like a good opportunity to set the record straight--or at least firmly crooked.

I kind of agree with what GrimReality just said, whilst homosexuality is most definitely not a choice people’s beliefs probably aren't as black and white.

I do think there is more of a sense of choice compared to what sexuality you are, but if you choose to believe something, is it really believing? That's more like deluding yourself. Whilst CastNuri seems to have 100% belief in her God, doing anything other than what she believes would get her a severe punishment.

I can't believe there is a God, not because I don't WANT to believe in a God, but because I can't. So, CastNuri can't NOT believe in a God, even if she didn't want to.

I just don't think it is as black and white as, simply saying "Today, I am going to believe in God".

Not that I want to support CastNuri's argument, as a gay man it makes me almost ill that someone would think less of me because of whom I love, or "pity" me as CastNuri seems to. I just want to support her religious freedom, even if it is harmful to me.
3017  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Does anyone actually like random battles? on: July 28, 2010, 06:48:46 AM
I really don't mind them. It depends how fun the battle system is I spose. I'm playing Persona 2: Eternal Punishment again and I really don't care how many random battles I get into because I love the battles so much. I will say I was never really a fan of Chrono Triggers approach to battles, but I know I'm in the minority in that one.

Persona 3 and 4 were good as well, the enemy was on screen so you could avoid it if you wanted, but what you actually got monster wise was just random.

Long story short: It's really a non-factor for me.

IS there one on the list about committing hundreds of acts of home invasion per game without no one really caring?

Yes, there is.

I may have mentioned this earlier, but if you have the Current TV channel, definitely try to watch the Vanguard episode "Missionaries of Hate."  It's an eye-opening documentary about church and state in Uganda where they're contemplating a bill to make homosexuality a crime punishable by death.  If that's not a human rights nightmare, I don't know what is.  To say Pastor Martin "Eat da poo poo" Ssempa, one of the bill's strongest advocates, frightens me is an understatement.

http://current.com/shows/vanguard/  I don't think the full episode is there right now, although they have full eps of other docs like American Jihadi or World Toilet Crisis.

I'm with you there Dincrest. That man certainly scares the poo poo outa me. That's for sure.

I saw CastNuri's comment and choose to ignore it, arguments like thse go absolutely nowhere and change no ones mind.

I love this list so much. Though I don't think I can add much to it.

It was funny years ago, and is still funny today.

I too enjoyed it, I twatted it on my Twitter.

I think everyone here knows their RPGs pretty much backwards and forwards so even if I mentioned a JRPG that came out on a type of microwave in Japan in 1993, people probably have heard of it.

I liked Jade Cocoon and a lot of people had issues with it, I spose that counts.

My partner and I have a bottle of wine with Sunday dinner. That's all though.

I do get drunk at Hogmanay (New Years) though.

In my country, dead baby soup is a delicacy. Best get them fresh though!

Being drunk is a bit like going to sleep and then waking up in the morning.

Only it isn't morning yet, and you have only been asleep ten minutes.
3029  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: I have too many games to play!!! on: July 24, 2010, 03:32:45 PM
I'm the opposite. I play one game at a time. No real reason for it, I just like it that way.

When I'm drunk, i'm generally at a party having fun. Not posting on forums.

EDIT: Okay, that isn't true now that I think of it.
