I picked up the entire Song of Ice and Fire series whilst I was in Glasgow a few weeks ago, I had already read A Game of Thrones about a year before though when I checked it out of the library. I liked the book a lot, but it didn't make me crave the next book immediately after. I guess subconsciously I've been wanting to read the rest.

So, I am just about to sit down and read A Clash of Kings.

I agree that this game is harder than previous pokemon games, I think some of that may be because of the new experience point system, if you want to level up at a decent rate you have always got to be facing Pokemon 2 or 3 levels above you, instead of grinding on weaker ones. I picked Snivy, I think he is adorable.

Team Plasma could have been really good villains, but the game missed that chance and I think it is probably best they did. They raise a good point, are Pokemon just slaves to humans, do they not deserve freedom. But the notion is pretty much dead on arrival as they do clearly evil things to Pokemon themselves and are driven more by greed than any real philosophical ideal. Though thats just from what I've seen so far. It's probably best they are rather see-through, it would suck to taint the idea of pokemon being your friends while you are playing, no one wants to feel guilty about it :P

Speaking of which what would happen if you accidentally swallowed a pokeball containing a wailord and it like, opened, inside of you? Could you murder someone that way?

I...don't...know what to say to that. Only that you are awesome for even thinking that way.

We shall meet at dusk TurnBasedDude! :D Though I'm by no means a competitive pokemon battler, so be prepared to face a team of cuteness over ability.

Guess who has Pokemon White? Moi!

I'm honestly surprised that it came out in the EU before the US, but it's a pleasant surprise. The boyfriend has Black.

Oh, Snivy you adorable snooty grass-snake! The bf has a liking for Oshawot

I think you were a little too generous there Dice, surely just a high-four at most. He said "sheeps" for crying out loud, I'm willing to accomodate that English might not be his first language or he's using it ironically - but there is a limit sure.

Yeah, but now you have found out that no where nears you sells it - so are you gonna order it online, or is the principle of the thing more important? :P

Why in god's name would you ever need to grind in FFIX

Maybe because he's running a level 1 game challenge.

Or he misspoke and meant grinding in Chocobo's Hot and Cold.

I can't seem to figure out the game's skills system - is it supposed to develop that slowly??
I found the 8 bouts with Beatrix a pain in the ass.  I also found experience sucked too often to really find the effort to grind.

Do you mean the AP system? I didn't find it that slow considering the average AP for a skill on a weapon was about 40 and bosses dropped about 10 to 15, and random battles average at about 2 or 3. I think if you wanted to do it faster you can try and find those little guys who are looking for opals, emeralds, diamonds etc and I think they give you 20 a pop.

As for experience, my favourite place to grind was in the Treano gargant system, as those worm/spider things drop a fair bit.

Yeah, I know. She-Hulk doesn't have a very good super but is pretty fast and powerful without it anyway. I'll play around with some more combinations tommorow.
