1  The Rest / General Discussions / Wii Fit is a SHAM! on: May 19, 2008, 07:20:56 PM
Well, it says the girl is 10years old and weighs 84 pounds. My daughter is 11 and weighs 72 pounds, is stick thin, and the doctors have been trying everything they can to get her to gain weight for about 3-4 years now. So 84 pounds doesn't sound bad at all. Maybe five pounds too heavy, but no more than that. My daughter could easily carry another 10 pounds and be no where close to fat. She's 11, and can still wear a kid's size 8 shorts. (not pants, they are too short) Size 8 is usually what a 7 or 8 year old wears.
2  The Rest / General Discussions / A Brazilian woman is now in the record books.... on: May 09, 2008, 02:40:00 AM
I've seen bigger. Wendy Whoppers had like 3000cc til she had them taken out. Biggest I've ever seen, my god.

Can't post  link to her site on here, but here's her on wikipedia.

4  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Worst Hero & Villain on: February 05, 2008, 04:55:16 PM
I never saw Seifer as truly evil either. and how cool would it have been if a major "villian" in a game wasn't really evil, just misguided and lonely? They still could have been an ultimate big bad in the game, but I would have liked to have seen Seifer filled out a bit, and gotten more into the why he went with Edea (although that was explained pretty decently- she was his beloved Matron),  but also why he hated Squall so much, and how he and Rinoa met, why they weren't dating any more, and if he harbored any feelings for her at that point in the game.

I think the sorceress thing should have been better developed too. Adel was kinda pointless. She was trapped in space, Rinoa let her out, and then they defeated her. That's it, no story at all. Then there's Ultimecia, who only wanted time compression. Uh why? What purpose did that serve? How did she learn of Ellone? How did Ellone get the ability to send people to other times?

This is perhaps my favorite FF game, which is why it frustrates me so much, the things that weren't developed that should be been. I thought Squall was a great protagonist, but the villians just made no sense at all to me.

I agree. I would have much preferred they forget all the other sorceress junk, and really filled out Seifer. The game was billed as a big love story, and yet they hardly even address what could have been the biggest foil for that romance- the ex-boyfriend who hates the current boyfriend, and the world as well. They should have played that angle to the hilt!
6  The Rest / General Discussions / EA pushes ad-backed video games on: February 03, 2008, 01:51:10 AM
I don't think I'd mind ads, as long as it isn't really obvious and disruptive to the game play.  There are a few day time tv shows where product placement is real obvious these days, and it's really annoying.

I really don't think a person can complain about ads in a free game though. If you want free, you  have to deal with pain in the ass ads, if you want it ad free, buy the damn game. It's really simple, no?
7  The Rest / General Discussions / RPGFan Gaming Journal: The Road to Infinity on: February 03, 2008, 01:48:49 AM
Ive been playing FFTactics: War of the Lions on PSP, and FFXII on PS2 the past few weeks. I started FFXII when it came out, but my PS2 died, and I just got a new one Christmas and have just now gotten back to it.

I've also been playing some Blue Dragon, but I'm determined to finish either Tactics or FFXII before I start anything else. I got a ton of PS2 RPGs for Christmas to get to.
8  The Rest / General Discussions / Build quality of current-gen consoles on: February 03, 2008, 01:46:09 AM
Well, I'm on my 2nd 360 ( first one used to just freeze up on us), and have had two nintendo DSes just stop working. No warning, just one day they wouldn't turn on. Not the battery, cause I've switched it with one that worked and it didn't help.

Of course it is a 4 year old playing with both the ones that have died, so I'm sure that's the problem there, and not a serious default in the system itself.  Just my stupid husband buying that stuff for little kids!

I had the same PS2 from the time FFX came out til last summer, and it was used a LOT before it stopped reading discs. It would actually still play some games, until I took it apart and tried to fix it, but I killed it the rest of the way when I did that. :(
9  The Rest / General Discussions / 911 Dispatcher's Mistake Leads to Mother's Death on: April 11, 2006, 08:06:27 PM
I saw on the news earlier, about another complaint from another woman in the same area, from a year ago. Her husband shot her in the head, but it managed to miss enough for her to remain conscious and call 911, and the dispatch lady didn't believe her, and wouldn't send anyone. The woman had to call twice before someone finally came, and she has her own lawsuit pending.

They should respond to every single call, and if some are pranks, at least no one dies cause they didn't show  up.
10  The Rest / General Discussions / Prices of Game Rentals. on: April 11, 2006, 08:03:47 PM
I like just the idea of ownership enough that I never rent games. So I get a game or two that I don't love, it's not the end of the world. If it's a game that I'm not sure of, I usually wait awhile til the price drops, or grab it used, and if I hate it, I find a friend to sell it to.
11  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Star Ocean: Till the End of Time on: April 11, 2006, 07:59:13 PM
I think I played about 10 hours of this one. I just didn't get into it all that much. I'm sure at some point I'll go back and play it, but not until I get some of the more important games in by backlog behind me.
12  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Completed RPGs of 2006 on: April 11, 2006, 07:57:23 PM
Add Suikoden IV to my list, I grabbed it and beat it so I'll be ready when I get V in a week or so.
13  The Rest / General Discussions / Introduce yourself here on: March 20, 2006, 06:04:04 PM
Ok here goes. I'm 31. No wait, I turned 32 in December. Ok, I'm 32*cringe*.

Female, married, kids, the whole nine. I stay at home with them instead of working outside the home. One of my kids gets a disability check, and if I went to work, I'd lose the check, so it wouldn't really be worth the money to time lost ratio.

I enjoy rpgs obviously. I read a lot. Mostly general fiction and murder mysteries/thrillers, but I've been branching out into fantasy more lately.

Outside of my family, I don't really have much to do, so you'll find me quite often lurking around forums like this one.

Oh yeah, I live in a pretty average town in South Carolina where nothing much goes on worth talking about.
14  The Rest / General Discussions / New Names on: March 10, 2006, 02:16:56 PM
I think I've registered here before but I never posted enough to get to know anyone, and I don't remember my user name, so no one would know me around here. I'm brand new.
15  The Rest / General Discussions / Game journal yeah whoo. on: March 10, 2006, 02:10:39 PM
Recently completed SMT: Nocturne with the Neutral ending, then completed the Kalpas so I can get the True Demon ending. Probably gonna play through it at least once more before I get bored, I really loved this game.

Also started DQVIII, I'm around 30ish hours into it, just got to Baccarrat. I'm liking the game, but I'm not in total love with it like so many other people I've seen.
