The dub in general wasn't bad, the sad thing was the main character was. Also I think not even half of the dialogues were dubbed which is understandable for a small title but this is why some of us like to have the original audio where everything is voiced.

That book makes me wish I didn't "pause" my Digital Devil Saga.
I really considering getting this book, and maybe playing the game to completion.

The game was just a bit grindy but what am I complaining, it's Atlus and I should have know better. The game is much much easier than Nocturne but while not particularly hard, you need to keep aware of some stuff and I particularly found necessary to grind for macca so I can buy myself new spells.

I'm still playing the first game, on chapter 2 but so far I'm loving it, the characters much more than the story itself, so if some are returning I'll be sure to get it!

On my pc it runs fine. Granted, I recommended it to a friend and like you guys feared his laptop couldn't handle the game, not because of slowdown but somehow he could not see the ships during battles.

From what I've seen, although I may be mistaken, the developers said the game was meant to be free all the way.
They are still patching some stuff but as far as it goes it is complete, at least as far as their initial goal of completion was. So even if it has a hook for a sequel, it should have an ending of its own.

I like how these games have added a disclaimer saying where there are events. I am so tired of running around town every day in order not to miss an event. Now I can see the events right away and go there.

I'm glad to see they added flags for the events. With me it happened almost like you, I played most of Ayesha but didn't trigger a certain event which was necessary for the story to advance, when I finally managed to see it I had little time to do anything else and had to run through the story.
After this I decided to give the Atelier series some time to breath. Not much, I just think I'll wait for the Vita version of Escha & Loggy instead of getting the PS3 version. I might even try the Japanese version if I manage to find it at a good price.
Like you said, I don't replay them, at least not as soon as I finish them, so I like to give some time before going back to them.
21  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Sunrider: First Arrival on: July 21, 2014, 07:27:44 PM
Have anyone else seen this game called Sunrider: First Arrival on Steam ?

Basically it's a Visual novel mixed with Strategy RPG. The scenario is something of a space opera where you are the captain of a spaceship on the run from some tyrants of the galaxy and along the way you recruit new people to your crew and makes choices along the way.

After having played two hours I must admit I'm pretty impressed. The characters I've met, even if stereotypes, are interesting. The music is excellent, I can't stress how much I enjoy it, it really helps setting the mood of the game.
Oh, and the best part, it's completely free, no microtransactions, no catches. From the little I've looked into, it's a successful kickstarter that made this possible.

So, I highly recommend this for both SRPG fans and Visual Novel fans alike. There's even a "Visual Novel" difficulty level for those that just want to enjoy the story, because I heard this game gets really hard on normal.

I really wished they could have released this on the Vita but I'm not complaining, at least they will be releasing it.
At least for me it's an incentive to buy a PS4 and play something on it while waiting for MGS5.

After a lot of waiting I can't believe I'll get to play the game! I'm getting in as a gift from my girlfriend for easter.
It may sound weird but where I live people trade chocolates but since I'm not eating them much these days she wanted to give me a game!

So, before looking for pages and pages posted here, I'd like to ask a simple question: She I keep changing jobs all the time of stick to some? Like always having a white mage.
Also, are there some preferred abilities people seem to agree are must have?

I really like the trailer. It still did not make me understand how it should work but if I am to guess, I'd say it should be something like Valkyria Chronicles which is always a good thing!
25  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming on: April 02, 2014, 07:34:07 PM
So, it appears Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming is coming to steam April 4th.

Well, I think I'm not alone as I loved the first game. Which was interesting for me because I was very reluctant at first but then for some reason I decided to give it a try and I loved it, so I'm really happy the second is coming out, even if out of the blue, with no announcements that I've heard of and in such short notice.

Anyone else looking forward to it? (This is no late Aprils Fool joke, Marvelous even joked about the price of 999,999)

From the opinions here I'm somewhat happy for the change Escha & Logy took as even though I did like Ayesha of the 4 games I played it was the one that left me the worst impression (although not a bad one).
I can't exactly point to what bothered me but perhaps it were some characters that were just uninteresting to me. I also for some reason couldn't trigger some story scenes until very close to the time limit so when I managed to do it, I had very little time to do extra stuff and I kind of rushed the end.

I'm having some high expectations from Escha & Logy. I think that just by having my preferred audio choice will make it a much more experience for me.
Oh, and for those who are playing the game, does the gameplay and story change significant between playing as Escha and Logy?

I also wouldn't be surprised for another Vita version of the prior game.
Seems like it's the plan that every game gets a 'plus' version.

That's the one sad thing for me about the Atelier franchise. Why not a simultaneous release? Giving the relaxing nature of Atelier games I'd love to have them on the Vita but I'm not too happy about buying the same game twice unless it's a for a huge discount.

About the new Atelier design, I loved it! I like the new protagonist has a "normal" look, for a change.
I still haven't got Eischa & Loggy because my backlog is still big like mentioned, but once I beat one of my JRPGs I'll make this a priority.

I'm glad we're getting it. Being Sega a little inconsistent to bring some of their stuff I could say I had no worries about P5 but I was a little worried about Persona Q and Dancing all night.

By the way anyone, do you know if Sega is letting Atlus work by itself?
I mean, Atlus USA seems to be doing their business as usual, right? Still having their liberties to publish some games here and there, being those games Atlus's games or not.

I got to year 3 month 8. I think have done so many optional sttof that I wasted to much time an d for some reason I can't manage to go to the right places to trigger the story to move on.

Even looking around it seems I got all the wrong flowers in favor of mandatory ones.
I fear the bad ending is coming and I'm not sure if I'll have time to pick back in a long time.

Edit: So I managed to beat it in time! I had a really good time with it!
So I wrote a small review of it on my blog if anyone wants to check it out. It pretty much sums up my impressions with the 4 games of the series I played but focusing on Ayesha.
The only sad thing about the atelier series I forgot to mention is like Cyril said, they are meant to be replayed but I'm not much into replaying games after I've just beat them. At best I would give the game a few months to go back to them.

I thought the game ended on year 3, sorry, my mistake.
I just hot access to the desert and before looking it up now and you guys mentioning I didn't know I had to collect some flowers to get a better ending.
I don't plan on getting everything anymore, especially on my first run, but I did want to see at least a "normal" ending. The ending most people would get without looking a guide or something.

I kind of feel bad because I liked the game but for some reason I got really confused in the alchemy system in this game as compared to the previous ones.
Rorona was my first atelier game but by the time I hit Meruru I was pretty comfortable with it. When I got Ayesha it seemed like I was back to square one. On one hand I see it as a good thing so it doesn't get stale but the other hand I kind wished I could've gotten used to it faster.
