Here's a cam of the whole E3 trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YieoURCBSXE

Oh I'm gonna love this.

Thank you, now you made this my most anticipated game ever!
I loved Parasite Eve 1 but hated 2 so much I couldn't even play 2 hours of it but now, I thinking of giving it a go, probably with cheats.

Now i'm with 85 hours. All characters at level 300 and a little bit further away from finishing the Arena. Honestly, I think I'll be taking a break on the Arena for a while and finish Neverland once and for all. It was a pain but at least now the battles are waaay easier. Just by being able to fully scratch an enemy is great, it makes thing not only easier but faster too.

EDIT:
Finally beat it, only one trophy away from Platinum. This I can say was a game that was worth every penny I paid. I just though the story to be confusing, not that it doesn't happen a lot in JRPGs but still way too obscure but even so, the characters are good so it's all right.

On a side note, the last boss was a breeze. I was so power leveled because of Neverland that he never had a chance but I think it's better this way, because in previous Tri-Ace games I've been beaten to death in the last bosses after going through the game with almost no problem.
Star Ocean 3: Killed last boss using all items accumulated throughout the game and only one character alive, after trying about 5 times
Valkyrie Profile 1: Died about 5 times as well, but not as hard as SO3
Valkyrie Profile 2: By far the hardest last boss I've ever fought. It took me about 10 tries and I remember my neighbor calling me to play Pro Evolution Soccer all night long and I said I'd only play when I killed that boss.

I have Disgaea 3 here a friend of mine lent it to me but still haven't started. I played like an hour and a half on my cousin's PS3 (back when I didn't had one).
I can't explain to myself why I haven't played it yet, I've beaten Disgaea 1 twice and Disgaea 2, all of them non-stop.

What I'm really looking forward to see is a more polished game. I mean, no complains but Disgaea 3 looked the same as 1 and 2 but since it was the beginning of the PS3 we can let it go but now they could at least try harder. If we look at the step further Atelier Totori took in their character designs I expect Nippon Ichi to at least try to catch up. I mean Gust is like Nippon Ichi, they're far from big like Square Enix but I beleive they can do more when they want.

Yes, this game was the reason why I bought PSP. You will not forget the times when you played this game.

I was about to post the exact same thing, this game was one of the reasons I bought a PSP. I can't help it, I'm just a sucker for SRPGs.
890  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Dragon Quest IX on: July 17, 2010, 11:28:18 AM
Honestly, I hated the DQ series, found them dated, repetitive, and boring. The only DQ games that I've played and never finished were DQVII, DQVIII, DQII and I for the GB and DQV.

Buuut... After playing DQIX, I'm now looking forward to DQX... But I don't have a Wii so I'll be looking forward to Ninokuni, which is the closest thing to DQ. :P

Also, will be playing DQV after DQIX.

I'm glad to hear this, because I feel the same as you. I finished DQV and VIII and while in some part of them I did enjoy them, in at least the other half I thought it was a drag. I've said to myself that DQIX may be my last take on the Dragon Quest series but seeing that you feel like me towards the series and yet you're liking IX seems like a light of hope to me.
I'm yet to start it, as I'm alternating between Resonance of Fate and Dragon Age.

I was just a little higher leveled than you before I decided to do everything in the Arena, I was about lvl 90.
I went to kill the 2 bosses before the final one, to get the black hexes for Neverland, they were a breeze. Of course I was not supposed to be so much high leveled, Leeane was lvl 300 and the rest not too far away, so you can guess how much abuse I can take before I have to start worrying about damage.

I'm halfway through completing the Arena and I have to say it again, taking forever but at least it helps to getting the trophy for killing 3000 enemies and destroying 3000 body parts. After all this time in the Arena, I just hope Neverland to be much easier now.
892  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Resonance of Fate Topic on: July 16, 2010, 07:38:41 PM
I'm close to finishing it, I'm at chapter 16 but then I decided to go to Neverland, but since it is a Tri-Ace game, the last dungeon is sure to be hard as hell. So I'm getting prepared, and the best place is the Arena. Since I'm doing a ton of those missions I decided to go ahead and just Platinum the game.
The only thing that's keeping me away is doing those missions on the Arena 10 times each, which makes it 500 fights, and we have to kill every single enemy (no leader), this is a pain.

At least I'm strong enough for Neverland (I hope) as my worst leveled character is at level 210 and the best is 231.

I'm liking this game so much I feel like it deserves it. The last game I did 100% at was probably Final Fantasy X-2, which clocked over 110hours. In RoF I'm already at 77 hours. I just hope it doesn't take more than 5 hours to finish the rest of the Arena because the lenght of it is the only complain I have so far in this great game.
893  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Trinity Universe Or Nier on: July 14, 2010, 01:41:13 PM
I'm watching the game played at youtube. I've watched the first 11 videos of more then 80. So far, the beginning doesn't attract much but once you meet Grimoire Weiss it seems it gets better as he has always something amusing to say. I'll watch some more until I decide if I'll get the game now or later. The thing is, music and story appear to be good (at least it's what people are saying) but the gameplay to me looks a bit on the bad side, at least for my tastes.

If anyone wants to check it out, these guys videos are in 720p so the quality is good, the sad thing is he sometimes takes a while to move on, but I still think it's better to watch some of it than be indecisive forever weather to buy it or not. I was on ebay just now seeing if prices on Nier were down a bit, as I though "hey, if it's cheap I'll get it" then guess what I see ?

I mean, REALLY ? Niger ?
I'm black myself and don't get me wrong, I'm not offended or anything, quite the contrary, I though it was funny as hell I just don't see why they would give us an option for "niger" when clearly there are lot's of results for Nier.

Bottom line, still didn't buy it, I'll wait until it gets even cheaper.

For famitsu's 40s they are giving like candy these days, I think that those which belong to new IPs or not that much hyped games are for real, the rest, simply bought. For exemple, 428: Fūsa Sareta Shibuya de has no reason to receive a 40 unless they really think it deserved it or even Bayonetta on the 360, sure this one comes from the creator of Devil May Cry but let's be honest, it's a new IP and it's not a spin of of Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy.

As for DQIX, I think I'll start as a Mage, I liked Jessica variety of skills in DQ8, unlike Yangus who had nothing better to do, but at least he hit really good.

I've got the game but haven't started yet because I was trying to finish Strange Journey, but I decided to move on and get started with Dragon Quest IX. So, since only one party member is permanent, anybody has a recommendation so far for which class to pick or it doesn't matter ?
I know you can change it later and even make a party, but never knows when the game forces you to go alone during part of it.
897  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Megami Tensei Topic on: July 12, 2010, 09:15:52 PM
I quote you on that, the dungeons are way to long, they sometimes feel more like a chore.

About chinese food, don't feel bad because japanese people eat a lot of pasta (not in the italian way) and if you're not into sushi or sashimi you could try yakisoba while playing Persona 4 (I can't remember for sure but I think I did eat it sometime while playing P3 or P4, as I used to order it a lot!
898  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Megami Tensei Topic on: July 12, 2010, 07:26:42 PM
I decided today that I'll simply not play Strange Journey anymore, which I found hard to do but felt like I had to. The overall game is good but in every sector we go the higher the floor the more boring it gets, it almost feels like a drag. The maps get so confused and complicated, but most of them are bearable but the parts with invisible paths )where we can't see our way, and now in Sector D we have some walking floors as well. Unless I use a map in gamefaqs or something it would take me forever, oh and I should not forget to mention the invisible doors.

I find it kinda sad because the mood of the game is good, the plot is interesting, and all the bonuses that come along with most SMT games but these shortcomings along with a game where you have to be on your toes to not die, and get lost and not being able to advance ...

Anyone else felt like it while playing ? Maybe I'm in a more streamlined RPG mood, I don't know, I may come back for it, but definitively not soon.
899  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (PsP) on: July 09, 2010, 06:25:34 PM
HAHAHA not sure what you mean but I'm laughing.
I was just surprised that a game I didn't like much in the past could be so much better with some tunning. More grown characters, less of that teenagers having ice cream and such. Not to mention the gameplay itself.
900  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: The Last Story - FIrst Trailer Ever! on: July 09, 2010, 05:25:07 PM
I thought the video looked really cool and the battle system seemed different, especially from the same dull and boring turn based Sawaguchi makes on everything he touches. (I don't mean turn based are bad, just that his turn based end up being more boring than they are worth)

I can't express myself at how lucky I am for this game not looking anything like FFIX, sorry we're not on the same boat lol.
Honestly I'm glad Sawaguchi's taking a chance and doing an RPG a bit out of his usual doing. Instead of trying an Dragon Quest clone (Blur Dragon) or a really bad Final Fantasy clone (Lost Odyssey) he's finally making something new.
