I'm also on the waiting list for the HD artwork, maybe I can try making one too.

I also love this game, I'm still in chapter 13, so soon it'll be over but I'm not rushing it. I'm doing all the missions, collecting bezels, and everynow and then I try to clean all the hexes on a certain floor. And after beating it there'll also be the Arena and Neverland to keep me occupied for a long time.

Every now and then I think about picking up Nier. From what I hear, good story and really good music are a plus but that watered down hack and slash feel put it down for me, even more than the not so great graphics.
I'll probably wait a little longer to see if I want this one, as for when I start to urge again for a new RPG it'll probably be a little closer to end of the year, so I'll pick either Fallout, Nier or Atelier Rorona but seeing as Nier is old it'll probably be very cheap.

You know what makes me sad about this game, that they didn't give us the option to chose between the ugly old main character or the girl-looking guy the japanese version got. I mean, how big can another character model and a few different lines be? In PS3 there's no excuse for space on disk, and of the 360 also believe there is plenty of space considering the game is not pushing it to its limits in terms of visuals. Hell, even if they don't wanna give it for free, at least as a DLC.

After seeing the picture of the interview with Dengeki I thought I would try to read but that would take a while (but at least most of kanjis had furigana) and then sharing some with my fellow RPG fans, but before doing so I thought of looking for a translation, and I found it. There aren't many places with it, and some had dead links, so I'll just put here.

Q: Is this a real-time screenshot weíre looking? The image quality is very good.
A:Yes itís an image in real-time using the real hardware.We aim to improve the quality youíre seeing now even further. As of now we canít share more details in full scale right now, so we removed the menus and subscreens where it shows Noctis expression (image projected on the subscreen).

Q: Were the party members also there originally?
A: Yes, we removed because we havenít formally announced their weapons and clothes yet.

Q: The exquisiteness and shades are like a photograph taken from real life.
A: Indeed, weíre using physical calculations to determine the movement of the clouds. By this time it allow us to filter sunlight and others on Versus XIII.

Q:Is the cliff to the wilderness & the Gas Station set in the same location?
A: Yes in the back of the Store is the cliff to the extended wilderness. You can walk all the way, to everything you see but the mountains.

Q:Whatís this giant Enemy on the other screen?
A: Itís a Military Behemoth and he actually bears a huge sword in his back. As for this pictures, the battle screen were on the screen but we omitted it.

Q: The street of Shinjuku is real.
A:Yes, itís our model for this, even the bicycle lanes and crosswalks are decipted. But the sense of distance has been changed a bit since the last time. Right out of the city you encounter the wilderness with electric wires every as itís this kind of territory for this country.

Q: This region, It is only the Prologue, the early stages, nature is so even there.
A: Movement around this area is easy because you can use a car. Getting on and off the car can be done anytime, but only not possible to go all the way through it because it leads to a region underwater that has been shown on promotional trailers before.

A: Development is very advanced along and according to expectations weíre taking steady steps; wait at ease please, information on Versus XIII will come. Moreover, weíre making preparations for a Big announcement.

Q: You can actually see a signboard and things written inside in the screenshot?
A:The signboard is still temporary even though the inside of the Gas Station is modeled after the Stations in the US in detail. Itís possible to go up there using the stairs.

Q: Do you play in this perspective the whole game?
A: Yes. The camera basically sits in this position. We decided to priority to the characterís presence and the world; that said we decided to scrap the over the shoulder perspective of the world.

Parasite Eve is one my all time favorite games, so there's no way I'm missing this one. Day one for sure!
But since they said they are changing the gameplay AGAIN, I hope they try a style more like Resident Evil 4 or Uncharted, instead of that crappy that RE1 scheme they did in parasite eve 2.
I hated it back then, the controls of PE2, so I ended up not playing it, but this week I decided to dig it up (one of the few PS1 games I kept after selling my ps1).

Never understood the appeal of Dragon Quest; but that doesn't seem to stop it from ALWAYS hitting number one on sales charts. ...what a shitty ass series.

I second that! Repetitive, repetitive, repetitive ...

About tales, well I've only played Vesperia to the end and liked it. After I went out to play Abyss and it is fun but somehow I felt like "I've been there, done that".
It seems that by having to teams milking the franchise is actually killing it instead of making it more profitable (like they probably intended). Think of the Call of Duty series, after COD2 they are just spamming sequels one after the other, but the difference is that COD is selling like 20 millions units and Tales was never that popular to begin with. (Not like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest)

This is looking great!

I wonder if any of the developments of the game came from reactions to FF13...and its lack of linearity (bcause this sounds perfect)

Maybe Nomura wasn't thinking specifically on XIII's reactions when making the game, but I'm sure he was when choosing what to show to the public, just a response saying: "Here you can explore things to your liking"

I liked the gas station scene and the above because I like this darker tone in movies and such, instead of putting it at the time you want, just put it into everything and give more emphasis when it's actually required.
And the 3rd picture, I just love that! A big city at night just looks great.

I just hope I don't have to wait another 3 years for this to come.

My god, these screens look gorgeous, it's just like a Ghibli movie. At first I thought they were anime cutscenes but taking a closer look some shoots do look like they are the game itself.
I wish they would go for a "darker" approach like Spirited Away.

You found it to be a cakewalk ? I was just going to say it was harder than hell ! I did beat the game, but it took a huge amount of time, probably I didn't use the right weapons, didn't level the right way or whatever. Nevertheless I enjoy the game a lot, liked Ash and Morona and their friendly relationship but is it a big game or what ?

Well, since Atlus announced their support for the 3DS and mentioned their persona franchise, we could hope for the best, Persona 2 (both of them) and hopefully truly remade, with 3D graphics and with a bearable encounter rate.

I wanted to play rorona, but after seeing totori screens just make me want the last one so much more.
I honestly don't get it why they take so much to localize a game, I mean, if anything people in the west, on contrary to a good portion of the east is the we are "graphic whores". Not us, RPG fans, but the usual media , reviewers and all, and taking that long to bring it here just makes it look a little older.

Not that I care, but with it I believe some games don't get the attention they deserve, sometimes even from people that like RPGs, I have myself missed/skipped some good titles because of this stalling.

I've been playing persona 4 a lot recently, and having trouble leveling up margaret's social link
she wants me to make Ippon-Datara with sukukaja and I already did that
each time I try it, she doesn't seem to notice that it's already done
am I missing something that would help me level it up?
it's really frustrating for me

Make a Ippon-datara(Hermit) with the Skill Sukukaja

Required Lv 17
Possible Fusions
(Temperance) Sylph(Sukukaja) X (Justice) Archangel
(Death) Ghoul(LV10:Sukukaja) X (Fool) Obariyon

Well, these have to be made from fusions, but I'm not sure if this particular persona can learn Sukukaja from scratch.
I don't know if you're aware, but when fusing personas, if you get out of the screen before accepting and then go back, the skills your new persona will learn will change, so once you know which personas to use, it's quite easy.

I can't say how I feel for not understanding the true meaning of the topic the first time. At first I thought that if you failed you mission in Fire Emblem, the game would auto-save (like in Demon's Souls, really quick) and you'd have to start from the beginning. Now I see it is about just one of the characters you control, I can definitively handle that! ;)

In FF Tactics we could lose a character if we'd let him turn to crystal and in Valkyria Chronicles too, after a few turns, so this isn't a big deal, I'll just have to play extra careful.

I can't tell you how many times regular enemies killed me in Nocturne so far. It helps that I've played lots of SMT prior to this one though, especially Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2. Persona 3 was easier than 4, I'd have to say.

Devil Survivor is pretty tough too.

As for non-SMT examples, uhhhh.... *crickets chirp*

It seems were among the few people that think Persona 3 was easier than 4 and P3 was my first SMT game.
I think P3 optional bosses were mostly challenging and a few of those were a real pain, some I've tried about 4 hours straight trying different strategies but the story bosses were a breeze. In P4 however, the story bosses were never push overs, in most of them I had to watch out so I wouldn't run out of MP, especially the ones that keep debuffing you.

If in Demon's Souls where dying every time and backtracking is stressful enough, dying for good makes it a no play for me.
