Another big thing I'm looking for with DSII is some more balance.  They managed to fix a lot with later patches, but there's still some stuff in Dark Souls that drives me up a wall:

-The Capra Demon
Honestly, I still can't believe this boss fight is in the game.  It's basically a game of chance as to whether or not you can survive the first attack once you enter the arena.  I usually die one or two times on this fight on each playthrough and then manage to take it out no problem. 

-Four Kings
This fight is just dumb on New Game+.  There are a few strategies, but most require a specific type of build.  Wearing a ton of armor and praying that you absorb all of the damage turns everything into a game of luck.  Thankfully, lots of people use this area to farm, so you can easily get help.

-Orstein and Smough
Yeah, no.

-Lord Gywn
They nerfed this fight big time with the first big patch, but it's still nuts without any help.  He never leaves an opening, though it's easy if you figured out the finnicky counter attacks.

Other things they should work on:
-Continue to work on the camera and lock-on.  Can't stand it when I lose the lock and turn my back suddenly for an attack.
-Dedicated servers for the love of God!
-Love the shortcuts and bonfire system, and it needs to stay in to cut down on some of the repetition and frustration from dying.

Totally agree with Stephen.  Spelling out the mechanics of the game would go a long way towards accessibility.  I mean, I had to look at a Wiki to figure out why poise was so important in Dark Souls.  They could certainly spell things out a bit more.  That said, I hope they don't lose out on the ambiguity with the story and lore.  I'm really excited to hear that this is, apparently, a brand new world.  As much as I loved learning about Lordran, the mystery made it even more appealing and terrifying.  Let's hope they don't lose that with DSII.

You can buy another one from Laurentis (sp?) after you rescue him from The Depths.  That's how every other class can get the flame.  Just fire up a NG+ after you beat it to buy it again if you have to.

Just made the Artorias Shield for the first time.  WHY WASN'T I USING THIS BESTIAL SHIELD?!!!

I'm all for people playing and enjoying the games they want to play.  More power to those that like RE6.  I personally don't see it, but that's just my opinion.

My thoughts on FF13 are well known.  Both series have moved in directions that I have no interest in playing.  I'm not sitting here expecting Square-Enix and Capcom to cater to my every whim.  They have gone in very different directions with their key franchises, and I am practicing my right to not buy their products.

I take no pleasure in bashing Capcom over RE6.  I love the franchise.  I actually spent the weekend re-watching those awesome retrospectives on GameTrailers.  I used to hang out with my buddies while we were still in middle school and we tried to beat the original Resident Evil.  We each had a job: I was the navigator, Dave was the controller, and Bill handled the puzzles.  It was a wonderful experience and ranks up there as one of my favorite childhood memories.  Playing the REmake on Gamecube brought all of those awesome feelings back, and Resident Evil 4 took all of that in an exciting new direction.  I just feel like Capcom forgot what made the series so special, and they're almost afraid to release a traditional adventure game like the first few titles.

I feel like I found a kindred spirit in Mr. Sterling (though that's certainly not the case all the time).  The RE6 demo offended me as a fan.  I'm really sad to see the series in this kind of state and hope that Capcom can right the ship.

I wouldn't argue about this being an improvement over 4 and 5 in terms of control, Agent D.  The characters are much more responsive when compared to the shambling tank messes of the previous games.  That said, they slide around the environment like Agent 47 in Hitman 2, and it feels terrible when trying to avoid zombies on the ground.  I'm not sure how they managed it, but RE4 still has the best shooting mechanics in the series.  RE6 just feels too slippery when you consider the precise shots necessary to pinpoint weapons, legs, etc.  As for the melee stuff, I just can't seem to figure the whole thing out.  I end up attacking too short or running straight into the enemy and missing my chance to do some serious damage.  It wouldn't bother me if it was a compliment to the shooting, but you have to use the melee mechanics otherwise you run out of ammo in about thirty seconds.  I'm glad they're using a stamina bar to keep you from spamming those attacks, but it still feels awkward and counter intuitive to me. 

Dead Space 2 just plays better, and Isaac feels far more responsive than any of the cast in RE6.  I'd rather hold a trigger to run rather than holding X and potentially skipping into cover, or accidentally quick turning, or maybe leaping over a box.

Seriously, go back and look at RE4.  The game still looks good.  It's one of the best looking games of last console generation.  RE6 looks dark, drab and boring by comparison.  Play through the night section of the village (rain and all) and then the RE6 demo again.  RE4 also runs at a stable framerate, something that seven years worth of innovation at Capcom seems to have missed.

Don't you love how you can't shoot the zombies on the ground until they magically come back to life?  That's next gen, people!  What about the fact that Leon can't move a fucking lawn chair that's been cemented to the ground.
