A.  That review was for the European release.

B.  It was done by a Scotsman, and you know they can't be trusted.

C.  I'm on review, so it was a shameless self promotion.

D.  America!  F*ck Yeah!!!

Nintendo didn't really advertise the new Wii model's lack of BC.  The guys at my EB were completely unaware of the difference, and we very quick to offer a replacement.  The Wii's in the store were a complete wreck, though, so I stuck with the new model and promised myself to take good care of the Gamecube I bought for Resident Evil 4 back in college!

You should be excited for Xenoblade.  It is quite good.  Should have our review for the site up on Friday for release!

I ran into the same problem.  Finding an older Wii with GC compatibility is really hard these days.  I bought one for my fiancee in December, and we just agreed to keep our Gamecubes in good working order.

Derek is awesome.  His sense of direction sucks, though.  Everyone knows you don't go to the catacombs first...

I think the characters are rather flat, but I really like the ideas in the world.  The idea of the Fae just reenacting situations over and over again is really interesting, especially given the main character's ability to change fate.  The groundwork for a truly awesome world is here, and I'm hoping that we get to see more things from Amalur in the near future.

Really liking Amalur so far.  The combat and loots keeps me coming back, and the number of quests is simply staggering.  I can see why some people don't like it, but I'm liking it way more than Skyrim right now.

Let it be known that I brought up the Zidane and Dagger moment.  See, I don't hate all JRPGs!!!

I'd also like to see Zelda expand a bit and get out of the rut.  Not trying to start a flame-war here, but I really didn't like Skyward Sword.  I'm not a fan of motion control to begin with, and the constant backtracking and awful pacing really killed all of the momentum for me.  I remember playing Twilight Princess, loving it, and then thinking that it was now time for them to try some new stuff.  Skyward Sword just wasn't the game for me, and I'd really like them to sit down and think long and hard about how to make the series relevant again.

I think Nintendo has to be very careful with the pricing of the WiiU.  The screen in the controller is going to jack up the price considerably, and the probable/impending launch of the NextBox system details could derail things in a similar manner to the Dreamcast.  I also think the many core gamers feel slighted by the Wii's focus on casual games and motion controls.  Still, Nintendo managed to right the ship on the 3DS, so I can't see the WiiU being a total failure.

Do we know if the PC version is getting an update on controls/content?
