meh, school days isn't even an average eroge the only thing it has going for it is the fact that its fully animated, and its more shocking yandere endings. The rest of it is complete garbage.
Considering you probably have more experience with the genre, what would you say are the top-tier eroges? These are the best of the ones that have been localized. The US localized market is not very good and is mostly full of sex romps. I had Campione on my list of anticipated titles this season...let's cross that one off. Don't get me wrong, I still like the novels it's based on, but the anime is terrible. First of all, the pacing is a complete mess. They're clearly trying to cram too much material into the time they've been given so they just jump from one scene to another without really explaining anything. And it's only loosely following the plot of the books in the first place. I mean, there are parts that are clearly based on the novels but they're merging multiple story lines and doing things all out of order. That doesn't have to be bad, but it is here. Character development has been thrown out the window. Erica has been reduced to a cheap whore. But even the battles are boring. A big part of what made the fights interesting in the novels is the fact that Godou isn't a charge-in-without-thinking kind of character. His approach is actually quite contemplative and tactical. But there's not even a hint of that in the anime. I mean heck, how could there be when they don't even bother to explain to the viewer what the conditions on his powers are.
There is seriously not a single redeeming quality to this show.
A very common problem when light novels or visual novels are converted to anime. They are usually either horribly paced, trying to jam as much material as possible into twelve or thirteen episodes, or very loosely following the source material, then making up the rest. VNs also have the problem of being reduced to mindless, fanservice heavy, harem anime whenever they are converted.

a lot of the Tenchi Muyo lore isn't in the actual anime, but various side materials which makes following the series kinda confusing especially during the gap between the 2nd and 3rd OVA. The original Tench 2: movie dvd had an amazing encyclopedia as an extra that had a ton of information about the characters, places, and important items within the Tenchi universe. It also helps somewhat if you watch Tenchi gxp. Tenchi Gxp isnt that great as whole but it does fill in the background about some Juraian and space lore.

Fate in general is an entertaining story with some good moments but other than that there's nothing special about it, though, I'm pretty I would get kicked in the face if I say that in front of a fan of Type-Moon.
You're welcome to your opinion, of course, but I hope you've seen more than just F/SN TV before saying that. You shouldn't judge a whole franchise by its weakest entry. If anything when I finished Fate I started watching Haibane Renmei after it I think, and that was so much better. I really enjoyed that series.
I love Haibane Renmei too, but that's really apples and oranges. What Kevadu said. The Fate Tv series is an adaptation of the worst route and it follows it rather well until after the Berserker final showdown, then it tries to merge parts of the other two routes into the story and fails miserably. Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven Feel are much better routes. The Unlimited Blade works movie is a lot like cliff notes, you can watch it and get a quick summery of the story, but you are missing ALOT. The whole thing can be summarized as lets animate most of the flashy fight scenes and make archer look as bad ass as possible while doing it.

Er...you're going to watch the ending first?
No...I just meant that I'm gonna wait and hear what people say about the ending before I dive into it. Obviously I'm not gonna watch the ending first. That would just be silly. Well, I don't get that. Especially in this case. It's a prequel so we already have a pretty good idea how it's going to end. I thought it was an alternate universe type thing? And it's not like prequels can't have shitty endings. In fact, for some reason it's the only thing I think it can screw up at this point, which is why I'm waiting. prequel to fate stay night. the ending is pretty much known to anyone who follows the fate stay night series.
