I think the important point is that while console gaming will be cheaper unless you are literally starting from scratch (and possibly not even then!) a good gaming PC is not astronomically expensive. You can build some very respectable computers for sub-$1000; just look at some of the examples on ibuypower.com.
you can turn that respectable computer into an absolute beast if you know how to overclock properly.

Hell th OS alone would chug through that memory like a fat man with chocolate milk

No kidding. I have windows 7 64bit and 8 gigs of ram. My computer averages using over 3 gigs of it.

You're assuming a computer can work without a motherboard.

... And it's best to wait and see what happens when the Witcher 2 comes out before figuring out what it can run at what settings.
well,  he left out alot of things like the case, psu, heatsink, disk drives etc. I was just pointing out that system he said was AAA+ was really dated. You can play a lot of games with it but you are not going to come close to playing on high settings with 1920x 1080 or higher res and having a solid 50-60 fps.

^ that setup would have a hard time running Witcher 2 at mid, let alone high.It would also die a dogs death chugging along trying to run Rift on medium/high settings.

I wish I still owned all the boxes my nes, snes and n64 games came in. I don't know why i threw them away back in the 90's :(

The only box I still own is the Chrono Trigger box and it even still has all the inserts which is cool to me.

In the same boat  desroyed all my old boxes  as well. Oh and I bow before youe massive collection nearly double mine and I though I had alot, lol.

Well, I have played this MMO quite a bit. Its a solid game, but definitely gives a bit of "been  there, done that feeling, especially if you played Warhammer, WoW or Everquest 2. For a new game it runs really well and has some truly nice effects like the land warping when  rifts appear, to the major rifts totally distorting the landscape.  Rifts are basically glorified public quests from war hammer that can happen anywhere at anytime. Alot of the talent trees, abilities and crafting  are straight up taken from other MMOs. Its a solid  game, but I think someone with almost no experience with MMOs would get the most out of it.

I just killed Lucas Blight... why did you guys say he was a great villain? He was awful.
I kept expecting him to capture my sister and torture her and kill her and eat her for breakfast, yet nothing of that happened, because he's just nice like that.
except for the fact that you are forgetting  that he was an ax crazy, batshit insane,  and a brokenly strong non true rune wielding character. Story wise it took your whole army to beat him. If Joey''s plan had not of worked he would  have killed every man, woman, and child of the city states,  and enjoyed every minute of it

Usually unless you are DQ, Monster Hunter, Pokemon, FF or some other major franchise, the 1st week in Japan pretty much determines the fate of a game.

Joining the Legend of Dragon hate crew. I loathe it but I certainly do not think its one of the  worst rpgs ever made.
