"So you want me to put the tip of this into that hole of yours?"
The slightly slippery tip wouldn't slip into the hole.
"It's my first time doing this."

I can understand Danku's retort, though. Kevadu's comment to him was really out of place and brash, and I believe Danku's responding to that more than anything about the game. Kevadu had no reason to suspect that Danku won't like the game, yet he told him he wouldn't anyway. If someone did that to me, I'd be pissed too.

Seriously?  I don't think I even said anything offensive.  Not all games are right for all people and Danku seems to completely miss the point of the game.  I suppose a change of heart is always possible but I think I gave the perfect response to somebody who is wishing this game was something that it was never intended to be.
There is no information about the actual gameplay. Is there a story? Is there more to just wandering around? Apparently the game has no enemies and no main plot besides get to the big beam of light in the distance. So I say, I'm hoping for clever puzzles and interesting landmarks, and maybe some collectibles. And you reply with this game isn't for me?

Nothing I said was an outrageous suggestion. "I'm talking about collectibles, intriguing and varied puzzles, awesome landmarks, and customization (Maybe different style of robes or hats, maybe even costumes). " Does this not seem like fair suggestions for a game that is apparently offering no enemies, actual gameplay, or plot?

So please enlighten me on who exactly this game is for and what it is going to offer. Because as far as I can tell, this game offers nothing besides wandering in a desert. But hey, I'm only looking at this from a logical perspective.

FFXIV kind of interests me. I've always had problems sticking to one character because I want to heal one day or use magic another or bash stuff another day. I'm more of the casual type when it comes to MMO's though. From the people who play, do you think this game would appeal to someone who isn't into hardcore raiding or dungeons? I enjoy grouping with people for various things, but spending hours in a dungeon that I've done a few times already isn't too thrilling for me.

Nice, I can finally pick it up.

I'm talking about collectibles, intriguing and varied puzzles, awesome landmarks, and customization (Maybe different style of robes or hats, maybe even costumes).

I don't think this game is for you.
Yeah, sorry for wanting more than just wandering around a fictional desert with a vague multiplayer mode attached. I'll stick to playing my crappy games that offer actual content.

Damn

Wow Nerds are literally cloning each other
lmaop

pot, meet kettle.

I don't get it. I don't even play WoW. And if I did I wouldn't be some common regurgitated character.

To be fair I did play WoW for a long time, and have played in guilds ranging from top 50, to social, upper-mid tier and leading my own mid-level raiding guild.

So are you lying now or were you lying then to try and give yourself some sort of credibility?
It's no secret that Thoren is full of shit.

Can I just say most RPGs on the PS2 and most of the current gen RPGs? I could go on forever, but like that other topic that is similar to this said. RPGs in general haven't delivered the goods, so I find myself playing other genres.

So I was hanging out in Ironforge on my Priest (named Sophira) and some asks a stupid question. Check this out:

At exactly the same moment, we posted the exact same thing. How crazy is that?

After some initial "OMFG" moments on trade channel, we met up. Even crazier, check this out (I am on the left):

My mind was blown.
I'm glad you're making the most out of that free month I gave you! =D

I'm excited because, according to their blog, Bethesda is using a brand new engine for the game.
I really have no problem with the old engine they used for Oblivion and Fallout. Sure it's outdated and has some dumb flaws, but it isn't as bad as some people claim it is. I'm glad they are using a brand new engine though, this seems like it may be the next upgrade of the Elder Scrolls, like Oblivion was to Morrowind. I just hope they get change the way they approach their dungeons. Some of them were memorable in Oblivion, but many of them were simple copy and paste.
It really doesn't matter though, I'm a fan of Bethesda and I enjoy their Elder scrolls series. I have faith that they will deliver something I would want to play.

Are any of you still playing FFXI? It seems to be the game with more content and polish. I'm just curious, are some of you playing just because of the graphics were upped and it's a new FF online installment? Or are you playing because you do believe that XIV is the superior version and just needs some time to clean things up a bit?
I don't play either of them and don't plan to, but I'm interested to see what fans think about it.
58  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Anyone plan on playing Cataclysm World of Warcraft? on: December 11, 2010, 08:51:13 PM
Man, my fucking paladin feels so weak.  I don't know if it's the new mechanics or if they got the nerf bat while I wasn't playing or what, but I had to bubble the very first time I pulled more than one enemy. :P  Divine Storm in particular feels like it's lost a lot of its heft.

I like the worgen starting area.  The worgen themselves...not so much. :P

Goblins are totally my favorite race in the game now.
Lol man.. why are goblins your favorite race? My little brother is also fixated on making a goblin if he ever plays again. I personally think gnomes are my favorite race, even though I never made one. They are like midgets, but cute and funny. Now that they can become priests, I might actually transfer my BOA stuff and make one. My only real pet peeve is that you get all this crazy awesome looking gear, but you're like 2feet tall so you can barely see it!

Without more information, I really can't get too excited. The concept sounds cool and all, but there has to be a bit more than just, Whoa big desert. If there are no enemies and no overall plot, the game better bring a lot of other things to the table in big doses.
I'm talking about collectibles, intriguing and varied puzzles, awesome landmarks, and customization (Maybe different style of robes or hats, maybe even costumes). For me, I don't support developers that think they can get lazy because they have a unique concept or game.

Journey sounds like its going to bring the immersion, which I'm always a fan of. So, I'll wait before I get super happy about something that has virtually no information..
60  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception on: December 11, 2010, 08:24:08 PM
I never played either of the Drake games. I know they are great, but I'm never in the mood to play them. I'll try my best to get into the third game, but I know for a fact that I'll never play the other two.
