P4īs soundtrack is great, I listen to it a lot. The tracks with vocals sound really good thanks to the way they were remixed for the ost. I love
Code:
nanako's
dungeon theme.

Love that theme. I like both P3 and 4's music, but probably 3 more. I find that 3's music gets a lot of hate, but to me it suits the game's setting/environment. Same with 4's.

It's really easily to feel connected to the game worlds in P3 and 4 right away, considering you have to take the main character through everyday of his normal life, it's more personal than just wandering around world maps. Or something.

By the way, would I sound insane if I said I'm enjoying Digital Devil Saga somewhat more than the Persona games?

Feel free. So long as people remember it's unofficial, I know you said so already though :P

God damn Persona remake. It's making me wish, for the first time ever, that I had a PSP.

I don't find Argilla that bad. Keep in mind that in DDS1 the characters had just discovered emotions - I doubt they could handle them properly right off the bat. For that matter Heat could be described as overemotional too in his macho sort of way.

Then again, there's not a whole ton of emotion coming out of the DDS games in general, which makes Argilla and Heat's stand out more. :P

It's the Harry Potter vibrating broomstick epidemic, but 100 times worse.

AWESOME.
I was thinking the same thing.

DDS2 In the Karma Tower and facing those three losers the second time is a pain in the !@#$ ass and annoying as hell. Took me like 8 hours to get stuck in this game.

Edit: nevermind. That took me several tries :P

Sratch that. I don't feel like making post after post, so I fought
Code:
Heat, and beat the little fucker down good. Now I'm in that EGG facility thingie.

I uh.. just got done with the meat processing plant in DDS2.

...they weren't kidding about the gore warning. :P

I loved the music there. Being chased by that minotaur thing was scary as hell.
I got irritated. He caught me a lot. But seeing him coming at you at full speed did add to the OH SHI- factor, as did the music. It was like Metal Gear Digital Devil Solid or something for several minutes. :P

I played through that scene at Mike's house - I still remember him exiting and staying out of the room minutes before it happened. He knew it was coming. :P

It was really horrible to watch, yes, but I thought the characters (okay writers) had the right idea. Hell, at least faking a smile has GOT to be better than brooding/moping nonstop. It even makes you feel better if only a little bit.

I didn't think the thing between Tidus and Yuna was tacked on. It was nice to see them actually have a relationship, rather than it being alluded to and/or hinted at, and then for the characters to only get together in Godawful crap on fanfiction.net . I also disagree with the kiss being out of nowhere, it was a 'finally', really.

I wasn't fond of Yuna's voice actor in the very beginning of the game, but she improved as the game progressed.

..Argilla? Really?

She's not my favorite, but not near the top of my list for annoying, either. The 'why Serph, why???' thing may have been a tad dramatic, but when you've just been forced to become a cannibal, you might get a little batshit too.

Cielo turns badass in DDS2, sort of.

He also gets a lot more useful in DDS2.
That's good to hear.. I get the feeling he'll be around more in DDS2.

Interesting. Think I'll save the Hard run (of both DDS games) for later. Like after Nocturne, if I'm not MegaTen-burnt-out by then. :P

Are you playing on HEFTY HEFTY HEFTY Hardo modo or are you playing wimpy wimpy wimpy Normal modo?
Is the mode difference really that extreme? :P

Normal. I tend to do hard modes the second time I play a game.

As far as DDS vs DDS2, I haven't got much else to say in terms of comparisons. Other than that I preferred DDS1's opening music over the Japanesey-Engrish one in DDS2.

Yeah, good point. For some reason it just didn't satisfy me entirely as a conclusion - not that it wasn't plausible, because it is (and hey, there was a reason that I guessed that person as the suspect right off the bat on December 7th or whatever), it just kinda made me go 'really, that's IT?' - but I might have just been getting annoyed with 'this is the suspect - no THIS is the suspect - NO WAIT HIM' thing as well.
2910  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Most Annoying Playable Character on: August 11, 2009, 01:01:17 PM
It seems that no character can annoy me completely. Junpei is, yes, annoying, but he's supposed to be, and where P3 is otherwise pretty serious and dark, I found him to be great comic relief. The Operation Babe Hunt was the best.

The only times when he genuinely annoyed me was when he remained pissy for like a MONTH that the MC remained the leader of the group. And then when
Code:
he bitched at the MC for bringing that 13th Shadow to town with him - yes, as if the MC had ANY IDEA.

I'd have to say that Cielo in DDS is slightly annoying.
