Fire Emblem GC (incomplete)
Fire Emblem Wii (unopened)
Fire Emblem DS (just got last weekend)
I'm actually quite surprised you haven't beat them by this time... XD

So am I, believe me. XD I'll get to them. Eventually, I swear!

Anyway, I mentioned P3 because it's the first game in a while that's made me want to go back and play again to get/do everything. I'm sure I'll want to with some other games (especially MegaTen ones), but I know it ain't gonna happen. I have a really nasty fall class schedule coming up, so I probably shouldn't even THINK of video games after this summer til..oh, Christmas. :P

Strange... since we put that up, the front page will only give me MegaTen ads. (But I still get Evony on the boards.)

To be fair, I think it's the only pic we had for the game :P

Hmm. I like the art.

The fact that 7 was written as VII and not, well, 7 probably made him think of FFVII.

Do you guys seriously 100% RPGs? I mean some of them have some obscure bullshit and it sucks having to replay a 30-50+ hour RPG just to have you have 100%..

Not really. I used to, in games I love a hell of a lot, like Chrono Trigger. I used to love doing all the secret dungeons and optional super-bosses though I may have quit around the time I was playing FFX-2. I think I did everything in FFVII too at some point. :P I'd love to do it in P3 - max S-links to get all the special Persona, 100% compendium, all that. And the secret boss. I hear she's a pain though :P

Just curious, did you ever make it past the third screen? :P
Fuck if I can remember. I don't even know what I DID do. :P
2975  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: RPGFan Super Game Journal Turbo II - The New Challengers on: July 31, 2009, 05:05:55 PM
Why would you restart because an optional boss kicked your ass?  Just come back later.

I'm under the impression he loaded his save and went to fight King Frost, rather than restarting the game because he died to King Frost.

I have decided that Eusis is the only person on these boards with basic reading comprehension skills.
I was under the impression that you stopped P4 to go back to DDS, only to get your ass kicked by King Frost :P
2976  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: RPG Backlog? on: July 31, 2009, 03:57:47 PM
This pretty much sums up my backlog. :P

I think my problem is that I keep going back to games that I have already finished (repeatedly). I played through Persona 3 five times through and have spent 433 hours and 25 minutes on it, with Persona 4 following right behind it with four play-throughs, eating 378 hours and 13 minutes of my life. I'm never going to finish any games if I can't move on... :P

You have no idea how much I was tempted to replay P3 again. I came close many, many times this month, and that's the very reason why I stacked all my MegaTen games on top of my PS2: to remind me why I SHOULDN'T replay P3, at least not yet. :P

When I count games I actually HAVE, my (realistic) backlog looks something like:

RPGS:
Persona 2 (...eventually I'd like to play both)
Digital Devil Saga 2
SMT Nocturne
The.. rest of Devil Survivor
Fire Emblem GC (incomplete)
Fire Emblem Wii (unopened)
Fire Emblem DS (just got last weekend)
Final Fantasy XII

Non RPGs
Metroid Prime: Corruption
MGS3

..and for some reason, I never actually beat God of War II. I think I got stuck in some room or other. :P

Not counting stuff I don't have. If I listed that, I may be here all week.

I sold my Xenosaga games. I realize this may shock some of you. :P

What the hell, I just now got on the front page, ads for Sears warehouse sale.
2978  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: RPG Backlog? on: July 31, 2009, 11:37:56 AM
Does anyone have a backlog of PS3 games?

I have a mental list, because I have no PS3 yet, but I know what I want to play for it. I can't think of an RPG in that list though :P

Digital Devil Saga, got through much of the Maribels' territory.

Still enjoying the game, although I got a tad lost and really tired. Got my ass kicked once for being dumb.
2980  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Thespeedgamers.com Final Fantasy marathon on: July 31, 2009, 12:01:11 AM
I, for one, really enjoyed FFX-2.
So did I.

If you can get past the sugariness of the first two chapters without developing diabetes, it's a pretty good game. I enjoyed the battle system, myself. :P

And 50 grand is a nice sum. Good for them.
2981  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: RPG Backlog? on: July 30, 2009, 08:31:15 PM
I have way too many. There are some things that I just gave up on eventually playing, or hoping to play, like Suikoden 3, and sold. So if you just consider stuff I have and still intend to play, plus what I intend to get/borrow/steal/emulate (like Persona 2), I probably have just 5-10 games. I don't have the time anymore for a gigantic backlog like I used to have :P

Expect me to get RPG/MegaTen burnout by the end of summer, though. :P

I decided to start a new game of Persona 4 just for the hell of it.  I'm about to start up the Rise stretch of the game.  It's amazing how easy things can be when you have access to level 80 personas at the start. :P

What difficulty, though? :P
2983  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: RPGFan Super Game Journal Turbo II - The New Challengers on: July 30, 2009, 10:53:10 AM
The second time I played FFVII it took me 56 hours or so to reach Sephiroths final battle without the Rounds Materia or what it's called. I have no idea why it took me such a long time. I've always been a hyper-slow gamer (LO: 62-65  hours, Rogue Galaxy: 55 hours, Mass Effect: 35 hours)

Nothing beats me and my 160 hours of Persona 3 in one file. :P
2984  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Games to improve my seks life! on: July 30, 2009, 03:34:21 AM
I don't like the yoga in wii fit. it's far too limited for my tastes. May I suggest real yoga classes? Or is that too far out of the video game realm... :P

The Babe Hunt in Persona 3 had my sides hurting from laughing at the lines.
2985  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: RPGFan Super Game Journal Turbo II - The New Challengers on: July 30, 2009, 03:28:37 AM
Digital Devil Saga is awesome, one of the best turn based RPG's I've played.  The setting and storyline seems to be very hit or miss with people though.  I wouldn't bother playing the first one unless you own the second though.  Also, don't try to go for all the stat/carryover bonuses for DDS2 unless you have a lot of spare time.  I spent like 70 hours grinding my characters in DDS1 to max all their mantras out, just to get like +5 to all stats in DDS2.  Granted that's a pretty good bonus, but at the cost of like 20 hours I dunno if it's really worth it.   I think the SMT series basically beat the perfectionist/completionist out of me.

I've had one or two people tell me that DDS is 'too dark' for some, but it doesn't bother me. After playing - what did DR call Persona 4? Oh yeah, Rainbow Faggot Adventures :P ..I'm ready for a change of pace mood-wise. I do own both games, but I'd rather just play both, and if I get close to maxing all their Mantras (I tend to take time with my games), we'll see. Otherwise. I'll just enjoy the games in whatever way.

Exaggeration.  Midgar only takes about 4 hours.
Yeah, I recall getting out of there in about.. 7 hours max.

Aren't there a lot of sidequests though? Or am I just thinking of all the Weapons and getting all the Materia including the summons and all that chocobo crap?

Been about ten years since I played it, and the last time I loaded the game up, I was horrified at how badly the game aged :P
