I have fallen off a landslide when on the opposite side of Titan. I don't know if that's epic lag or what, but there's many times I think I'm out of something, even way out, and I still get hit.

Back to coil, I wonder how much they'll need to nerf it for it to be even doable via duty finder. I guess for passing Allagan rot you can always mark players in order, it just feels like you need a lot of communication in coil that text chat can't really provide. Also Twintania is frightening.

I loled at the extreme primals image.

This is why I'm worried about tanking with pugs: I don't want to be one of those terrible ones that has no idea they're fucking up that bad. I have WAR at 35 as I type this, and it's been a lot of fun to play. I haven't tanked yet via roulette, since I've been doing a lot of dungeons for an FC member who's still playing through story, but I'd like to for all that bonus EXP. It's always for tanks.

(And as a bonus, I have a nice bunch of gear so far for when WAR hits 50.)

The way I see it, tank LB exists as a totally valid utility and when are you going to use it otherwise? I've literally never seen a tank LB before beating Ultima. Can't comment on T2 enrage strat, I've never seen it. Though apparently I'm supposed to prefer it since that turn is really rough on melee.

So excited for Leviathan. =P

What do people do if not the tank LB method? Sacrifice a player to blow up the last set of bombs solo?

We actually wondered that for a while, then Chursen discovered, in a PUG, that the damage is just like Twintania's fireball. The damage is split based on how many people are in range when it goes off. If 4-5 people move as a unit to detonate the orbs, they take minimal damage. When we did this we did not have to waste the LB on the tank shield.

Yeah.. I knew the first part, we actually did Ultima with Chursen a few times tonight and we still used the tank LB method.  We were a little too early one time, but survived. I guess the LB is to make sure everyone was alive enough to DPS his/the Magitek bits' ass down before he could cast Ultima?

It's such a neat fight, music and everything. A good one for dodging practice, even when internet and being on a PS3 don't cooperate so well...

I do hope that Coil isn't too easy after the patch, hopefully they just do the Echo thing and that's it. I also wish they wouldn't nerf Pharos Sirius (even if I had trouble fighting Siren earlier), rather make the dungeon drop better gear. =P

Beat Ultima after not even giving it a shot for two weeks. Second part with the magitek bits (being on the outside) and airships droppping always threw me for some reason and where people kept dying. Went better once we bunched up in the middle, lol. What do people do if not the tank LB method? Sacrifice a player to blow up the last set of bombs solo?

I kind of want to do it again and hope the striking ring drops.

I would say (not being a member of, but playing with them often) that Solaris is a serious group, but friendly and super helpful at the same time, and it's pretty much what Chronix said. They're not the 'lrn2play nub' sort. It's highly likely that if I wasn't in another (smaller/pretty private/mostly friends) FC, I'd be with Solaris.

I accepted all those leves, I just haven't done them yet. I'll probably do them in between FATEs and CT runs. My FC loves them some CT.

Mostly, I hear 'WotL' or 'plumes.' Never ever heard 'pools,' and 'plumes' makes me think of Ifrit's plumes more than anything...

WAR unlocked, at 31. Costa del Sol FATEs are fun.

You haven't found the SHARKNADO fate yet I see.

Having done quite a bit of Titan HM recently (but never EM), I found that Weight of the Land in the first phase is easy to dodge as melee, as when I'm close to Titan it rarely comes up right around where the tank has him near-ish the edge. During the heart phase, I found it better to ignore the gaol, and during the post-heart, sticking to the outside edges helped in avoiding WotL.

Been leveling marauder more. I have um a lot of level 50 gear + Garuda's Scream for when I get a WAR there.

Also Crystal Tower bingo. https://24.media.tumblr.com/0b1d90c14a31c6f11e73ce9685d8a154/tumblr_mzfyg9C6yj1rq9338o1_1280.png

Sounds like our attempts. In one run I died/DCed, another one of the tanks goofed somehow, another we got a shitty scholar via party finder, blah blah blah. Kept getting close and Ultima would wipe us because half our DPS was dead in the final phase. The fuckups added up and had us using the healer LB instead of holding out for the tank (or single-target DPS, if he was low enough) one. :( Just gotta keep trying.

There's actually at least one large house over here on Coeurl (in Limsa, lots of furniture in it too, they made it open for people to go check it out), and a couple small ones, and last time I checked was like a week ago. I think my Free company could probably afford a small house at this point but there's no way we're dropping all our gil on something that's the same size as an inn room. At the very least we want a medium.

Yeah, the one house on Hyperion is still open to the public too. For us, since our FC is small, a small house is probably good enough.

I'd just be happy if we could stop fucking up on ultima mk2 already. This is getting stupid considering we can floor garuda ex and turn 4.

Where do you go wrong with Ultima? In my experiences we get all the way to the end and die when he casts Ultima. It took me a few tries to get used to the dodging, and apparently the plan was to use the tank LB3 during the final phase. Only we couldn't because we used the healer one already with half our party being dead.

Yeah, I looked up the blacksmith one a while ago and the requirements were insane at the time but I'm not sure if they lowered those too. I agree it's not worth specifically aiming for though.

I'm not sure what housing is like on your server, but Hyperion finally got a house a week ago. The pricing started at 20 million and is now down to 12M, which is kind of impressive. We're still pretty far off from affording one in any case.

I don't think I ever posted on RPGBoards, but I joined RPGFan around 2002, which is crazy to think about now that I'm married and have a career and all that adult crap.

I was 15 when I first stumbled on RPGFan. I'm 29 now. That's crazy.

Now I feel old, thanks Nallo.

Is that the one you get for doing all the fishing achievements ever?

Got leatherworker to 50 finally. Haven't done my class quest yet, but I can't wait til I get all my lvl50 gear. :D

Ultima HM is... fun?

I've heard having an SSD helps with load times. The only reason I would even swap out is I need a new, bigger HD in my PS3 anyway.

I've never had an issue during Garuda'a tornadoes, but I haven't done extreme mode yet. And I've been doing endgame since late October. My issues come when there's a lot of players and enemies on the screen. Crystal Tower can get hectic, and so can busy FATEs like Svara, Odin etc. But I don't do those often. CT disconnected me three times in one run, but that was more my internet than anything else.

I don't think anyone can beat this guy's XB gamertag when it comes to trolling people in Call of Duty.
