@Ygg: Tone down your condescension. You are able to express your disagreement in a manner that doesn't try to belittle the other person.

I did that for years and I am fairly respectful of others, but is of no use to put an appearance for the sake of it when is gonna be a completely lost effort with a few that I'm aware is gonna happen for being around here for a decent chunk of time.

Why the fuck do you even come around here anymore? All you are is toxic poison on here and I'm goddamn sick of the mods playing all coy with you just giving warnings and shit when time and time again you just constantly prove all you're good for is personally insulting forum members who don't share your incredibly naive and hypocritical world views.

So yes, please be so kind as to fuck off back to wherever scum like you comes from.

Note to mods: Apologies for that tirade. But I really am sick of his bullshit on what is otherwise one of the only truly serene havens on the 'net to talk about video games.

I could say the same at you if I wanted, but does that make it true? I don't think so.

It's starting to remind me of what Sega did with all the add-ons like the Sega CD, etc. except instead of buying them separately, we are going to have to buy a new console if we want them. :/

And seriously, weren't they saying the same things about 3-D gaming that they're now saying about 4K gaming?

With 3D it was all about buying a new TV, and these upgrades for consoles we have heard lately are (as they have said) influenced thanks to smartphones and PCs. But unless there is a convenience in the use to the upgrade or actual meaningful support for it, it can fall off like a ton of others things that have shown up for consoles and handhelds before.

I always enjoy people completely overreacting to game announcements and early non hands on demos.
I remember seeing a clip from an early showing of Skyrim a few years ago. Some guy was showing of basic gameplay. Moved a bit, then took a random sword swing at nothing in particular and at that point the room went nuts. It was insane.

I remember that.

I think that reaction was stronger and louder than when Nintendo showed up Twilight Princess. And that was super loud.

^Don't even try to imply that the West doesn't do it as well among all of the alleged political correctness and progressive mindset is pushed. Besides, double standards go both ways between the East and West, like tolerance. However there is nothing inherently wrong with fanservice, or a bit of sex appeal either male or female. It can be detrimental of course if is done in ways that pushes the game itself back, but even when that happens I've seen multiple times the entire topic becoming about how awkward or okay you personally feel about it.

Sorry, the answer we were looking for was "Rolaids".

I expect nothing less from a shit for brains like you.

@Ygg. So you're a fan of the big budget, ultra violent, blood and guts, mowing down hoards of humans/zombies/mutants/androids/other human-like enemies, first/third person shooters then eh? Because that made up of most of the last two days conferences. Everything from stuff like We Happy Few to Dead Rising 4 and Gears of Four from Microsoft, to Ubisoft's annual Rainbow Six/Ghost Recon/Division/Hunt for Red October and For Honor, to Sony's mass zombie hoard shooter Days Gone, to EA's predictable Battlefronts and Call of Duties, to Bethesda, just Bethesda, all of it. Comparatively, there were like 4 RPGs, the yearly Forza/Just Dance/other destined to immediately land in shovelware bins and casual gamers' libraries until they sell it off at a garage sale 5 years later games, and a bunch of nondescript trailers/glorified announcements/release dates (especially of the VR stuff which was almost entirely FPSes (yes including FFXVR)) and a pair of cardgames/other merchandise heavy crap like Skylanders.

You love drowning yourself in your projections bit too much pal. Then again, indulging in personal deception is your specialty after all.

I sure as fuck don't want consoles to adopt the iterative model that Nintendo does with the 3DS. No. Way. Hose. A. Bad for the market and bad for gamers.

I agree with that, but is not like is a new initiative that hasn't been taken before with consoles. I'm not a fan of it with all the money it gets to do the upgrade sometimes and all that but I'd say that the option is there to take it, or be fine with what you got. Though, is bothersome when there are features locked in the game by the platform you have. There's no way that's not at least frustrating.

The adventure takes place on a fantasy setting based on reality (like those sleek suits you can see above). Also, ever heard of the bandwagon effect? Be careful with that.

How do you not get airsick with that throne you sit on so high above everyone?

I stay with as much of an open perspective as possible and my mantra is not "everything is terrible all the time for ever and ever" when it comes to this sort of thing. That said, I bet that's not enough of an answer for you.

You guys can all throw the annual smartassery and jadedness and keep that tired mindset going, but what was shown at this E3 overall was solid. I'm satisfied and I'm out.

@Mickeymac92: Tekken Tag 2 is one of the most solid fighting games I've had the pleasure to play. And Tekken 7 has been very good as well despite leaving behind a bit of tradition and putting Street Fighter nonsense in the form of gameplay and Akuma, whom I've never been a fan nor cared about. But hey, for all the hours and hours I've seen of Tekken 7 and FR on streams, I can tell it might end up being as good or close to Tag 2.

And unrelated to Tekken, I liked the enthusiasm of that dude from CD Projekt Red on stage showing off Gwent.

^I've been better with EA's mostly clean presentations than with Nintendo's live streams in the last few years on my end.

Yeah, man, just look at those shades. He don't need no E3 - he IS the show!

^You three already playing the "too cool for the show" card? That might be a new record.

My dumb butt thought this was a SLEEPING Dogs sequel for the last two days.  Nevertheless, that was definitely an impressive trailer.  I already like this new lead more than Aiden.

Aiden was sort of a peculiar choice for a protagonist coming from Ubisoft. I mean for a moody fellow that keeps his cards close to chest, he's not badly portrayed or overbearing. And that's weird to see since normally that kind of personality mainly appeals to most people exclusively with Batman.

@glassjawsh: VR is the main incentive for the idea of an enhanced PS4 if you ask me. But I don't doubt that there will be benefits for most genres and even the already established catalog the console has, but honestly, is better to take a breather and not obsess over this kind of stuff because it iterates virtually every second.

Watch Dogs 2 Cinematic Reveal -- Ubisoft US, YouTube

Past faults aside. This is probably the most tightly put together trailer Ubisoft have dropped since AC: Revelations' E3 trailer.

Yet my wounds run deeper than time can heal.  My pain is an abyss, a deep deep chasm of calamity, a den of deceit.  No comfort can cure it.

43  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Persona 5 on: June 08, 2016, 12:25:02 PM
^NeoGAF is a dumpster, but is no exaggeration that P3 is one of the best RPGs from the catalog of the PS2.
44  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Persona 5 on: June 08, 2016, 01:34:30 AM
Personas 1 and both 2s are basically an entirely different series compared to Persona 3 and onwards.

There is a big gap between P3 and 2, and in that same gap SMT: Noctune and Digital Devil Saga massively contribute to what P3 would eventually become. And guess what? P5 also has a big gap going on with P4. And that could only mean good things if history repeats itself.
