3571  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Shining Series: Biggest Thing in Series History Happening Next Week (This Week) on: March 12, 2012, 01:21:26 PM
from andriasang:

"You may recall that the Shining Blade Twitter also promised the "biggest thing in series history" for last week. We're not entirely sure what that ended up being, but there was some Shining news last week. Sega shared new details on the Shining Hearts anime, which begins airing in April, and also announced a Shining series collaboration costume set with Phantasy Star Universe."

NA probably won't get it anyway :/

We didn't get any of the Inazuma games :/ So sad. It's because Americans hate soccer.

But do Americans like time travel and RPGs?

Thought the ending was dumb and made even MGS4's look good in comparison

MGS4 has more problems that just the ending though. It has so much fanservice for instance that it got in the way to tell a decent story, but in reality after Metal Gear Solid on the PSone there wasn't any story left to tell... MGS2 more than a sequel it was a game about media manipulation among other topics and MGS3 was kinda like a celebration of the early days of the franchise.

MGS4 is just a thing that should have never happened really, because is a product that was created in the end for the fans and fans hated the shit of it (and they still do).

Sorry for going off-topic by way.

Why was it a bad idea to watch it?  It's a great movie.

I never said it was bad. And it isn't.

It was more that I wasn't in the right mood to watch a movie like this, I have nothing against the movie really.

Just finished watching The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. It was a bad idea to watch this movie, but I'm surprised by how long the story of this series is with the novels and all that though.

Don't care too much about this game even with the positive review that was posted here, but I keep hearing how good the battle system is. I'm intrigued.

AKB48 Girl Group's AKB0048 Anime story revealed

Oh God...

Gundam AGE is full-on kiddy mode for Gundam. It's boring and predictable, yet it's kind of hard to hold it against the show when it's targeting the age group it is. It does have some nice bits of animation, but the story is more or less completely throwaway. Only reason I bother keeping up on it is because I'm somewhat of a mechhead, and thus automatically a Gundam fan.

I see.

Still, I understand the reception is getting when the majority of people got into Gundam with the Original series or Gundam Wing and seeing this one in comparison can pretty "offensive" to some fans.
3582  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Kara - Quantic Dream's (Heavy Rain) newest tech demo on: March 10, 2012, 12:59:53 PM
I was playing Heavy Rain once and my mom thought I was watching a movie.

Heavy Rain is the only game my wife ever asked me to play so she could see what happens next.

Well, I guess they were right when they said that Heavy Rain would catch the attention of women for it's aesthetics and drama.

The ironic thing with Heavy Rain is that it was released almost at the same time that Deadly Premonition did, and it started quite the discussion of what game was better for one game that promises a rich experience to the other one that looked like a Dreamcast game. In the end, Heavy Rain was just a successful experiment that generated a bunch of conflicted opinions and Deadly Premonition become a cult classic.

Either way, I do wonder if Quantic Dream has the ability to do an entire game as good as that tech demo though.

Believe it or not the first game has it's fans. Fans that were actually kinda annoyed that this new game looked so different and less shitty, you know, the usual stuff.

^The only good series that I know with good endings and that they were an honest good waste of time are Death Note and Monster.

Also I've been wondering lately what's the deal with Gundam Age. There's seems to be quite a controversy with that series for what I notice a couple of months ago, and just today I saw the trailer of the series in YouTube and it doesn't look bad but by reading the comment section of the trailer there were people saying that the series gets good after episode 20 or so.

I haven't followed anime very much since 2008 more or less so I have not much idea how things have changed since Gundam 00.

Gundam Unicorn looks pretty interesting though.

it means nayuta................

Really? Then why did I find this in the esterior.net blog when someone did the same question?

"Nayuta is a Sanskrit word that means 'infinite.' It is also an 'impossibly large number' in Japanese, so holding a very similar meaning there, too… There are a couple others that I can’t look up at the moment, but you get the idea. :)"
