I figure wolves in the ice cave must be pretty damn cold already. I think he's onto something hitting them with ice magic.

Like what? Killing them from hypothermia?

Doing the boss battles with other people online is pretty fun in Peace Walker.

But well, FFXIII. 2nd time playing it and having a lot of with it, though, the music is so relaxing sometimes that it makes feel sleepy. ~.~

Part of the idea of the game is being like a SNES RPG in a more modern platform, I agree that they should get rid off the random battles though.

Is nothing terrible, but even for nostalgia's sake that's a pretty annoying feature for a game to have nowadays. And this is coming from someone who really likes FFIX an RPG with random encounters and a rather slow battle system.

Yesterday I was seeing for curiosity (also fuck my curiosity) in IMDb a list of fucked up horror movies. Horrible stuff. :(

After that mess I found myself seeing a list of movies directed by Stanley Kubrick, and I didn't know that the guy made so many influencial movies in his career.

Read a bit about some of his movies until I get to one called "Paths of Glory". I didn't saw the whole thing outside of the beginning and the last half hour or so, it holds up pretty well and at least for the parts I saw it was a pretty intense.

For someone like me that is really not into stories set in war times but manage to appreciate the movie I guess is a testament to the quality of the film itself.
3609  Media / Single-Player RPGs / CD Projekt hiring multiplayer programmer for "Dark Fantasy RPG" on: July 28, 2012, 02:25:51 AM
"CD Projekt is hiring for a multiplayer programmer for a "dark fantasy RPG", according to a listing from the Polish developer.

CDP Red has been hiring as of late for two IPs: one for its new IP based on Cyberpunk 2020, announced just before E3, and the other being a "dark fantasy RPG" that's "known around the world". The listing falls under the latter category, suggesting online is set to shape The Witcher 3 in some form."

"The listing reads: "CD Projekt RED is looking for an experienced multiplayer programmer to work in our core team. Your main responsibility will be to prepare our engine for challenges of upcoming online component of our future games.

"You will lead our studio through necessary steps to adapt to the new tasks and different way of thinking where necessary."

If they are intent on convincing everyone that they have a decent game lined up, then maybe they should consider actually showing it off.

Just a guess but maybe they are doing all the things one step at a time to not screw up again? After all they have to be careful with the bunch of (depressingly) angry fans that the franchise has nowadays.

It still makes my head shake in desperation seeing how XI and XVI being MMOs are part of the main series instead of being their own thing like Metal Gear is with the Metal Gear Online stuff.

But anyway, I hope XIV 2.0 is good. I really do.

I always try to evade tear-jerked animes. But I'm going to make an exception this time, I don't even know the premise of the series so better watch the entire thing like that after I finish Sankarea.
3612  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Anime/Manga Journal on: July 27, 2012, 05:16:17 PM
Watched until chapter 7 so far of Sankarea, pretty unique and strange series.

This might be the only anime I've seen until now with a main character obessioned so much with zombies that the idea of having a "zombie girlfriend" sound incredibly appealing to him, he knows that is not normal thing but he never really acts like an insane person. Weird fetishes aside he pretty much is your normal high school anime boy with a very peculiar hairstyle to say the least.

Then you have Dan'ichiro Sanka, the overprotective father of Rea Sanka that loves his daughter to the point of being creppy and ignoring his totally hot wife, Aria Sanka.

And the start of the show Rea Sanka, daughter of Dan'ichiro and Aria Sanka. Her life is pretty miserable thanks to her father, her mother seems to deeply hate her because of her she can't never find happiness in her life with his husband that is practically in love with his own daughter.

I haven't mentioned all the characters. Is not a huge cast really but everyone is well-developed enough to make them either interesting or likeable even if they are "broken characters" with issues.

That said, Babu is probably the most adorable cat I've ever seen.

There's a ton of fanservice and drama to keep everyone entertained but I don't see this series being for everyone, but if you're curious to give the series a chance watch at least until chapter 5 I say. After all, the anime is just 12 episodes long and there's also a OVA so there's no much commitment if you wanna watch the entire series.

After this maybe I see "Kazo no Kanojo X", a series that it seems to be about saliva and scissors... but I'm having seconds thoughts. How is this series that some call AnoHana by the way?
3613  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: The NEW Game Journal on: July 27, 2012, 04:13:54 PM
Popped in Deus Ex, man is this game cool. I don't really feel like sneaking a whole bunch so I'm going to do some gunplay

Human Revolution? Aside for how the boss battles and ending sequences were handle everything else is outstanding. I really got emotionally invested in the experience, not to mention that in some ways HR was (overall) better than MGS4.

Though, MGS4 has the merit of being one of the most nostalgic and depressing video games I've experienced... the ending could have been much better if Kojima did what was shown in a trailer in like 2007 for the final game. But I don't know, it could have been too much for me even if it could have been "the perfect ending" for that story.

Then Peace Walker happened and it almost ruined the little sense that Metal Gear does. It is one of the better games in the series in any case.
