Also, friend gave me Eternal Sonata for PS3.  I love the musical-theme and motifs, and the visuals are eye porn.  Crack pot story, but hey, it's a JRPG.

Oh geez.

Release Date set for DmC: Devil May Cry

"Capcom announced today a final European and North American release date of January 15, 2013 for DmC: Devil May Cry. A Windows PC version will follow later in 2013."

Joining the date, Capcom shared screens and artwork of a character named Kat. From Capcom's official text:

"Kat is a former runaway that joined The Order very early in her life. She is a medium and a gifted psychic who can see into Limbo, the demon realm, but not directly interact with it in the way that Dante does. She is the right hand girl to the Leader of The Order and devotes her life to him, often putting herself in grave danger to gather intelligence from Limbo.

"There is a sweet innocence about Kat's world view and logic, but when it comes to her specialist subject, the demon realm, she is an undoubted expert. Kat is The Order's 'eyes and ears' and is tasked with guiding Dante on his mission through Limbo."

I'm OK with this.

Capcom's E.X. Troopers has nothing to do with Mega Man Legends 3

E.X. Troopers isn't coming to the West

Capcom's Corporate Officer and Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson has confirmed that the company currently has no plans to bring Lost Planet spin-off E.X. Troopers to the west.

The disappointing news was delivered in an 'Ask Capcom' thread on the company's official forums.

The forum member's original question actually related to the thorny issue of the Mega Man series, and a recent comment by Svensson that he feels the franchise has too many 'sub series'. To counter this argument, the forum poster mentioned E.X. Troopers based on the fact that it's a sub series of Lost Planet, seemingly making the assumption that the game would be heading out of Japan.

Svensson's response was:

"No because E.X. Troopers isn't part of the LP series officially (thus the difference in name) nor are there plans to bring it Westward at this time."

So there you have it - Capcom isn't looking to translate and publish EX Troopers outside of its native Japan, where it launches on November 22nd of this year.

New post Persona 4 Novel focuses on Naoto

Doubt this will leave Japan anytime soon, unless Atlus do a limited edition thing that comes with P4: Golden and the novel like what happened with FFXIII-2.

I remember reading about the rumors of StarCraft II coming to console. Though, Blizzard games are designed for the PC in mind and changing the platform for a game that is suppose to work on a specific system is not the most clever thing to do most of the time.

But if they can, more power to them.

Mario Tennis Open: Giant Bomb Quick Look

Not bad at all.

I tried Metal Gear but for some reason couldn't really get into it. Maybe unless is futuristic sci-fi, I am not really interested in the military.

Believe it or not Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 4 have cyberpunk elements in them. So yeah, it has sci-fi but is not "nerdy sci-fi", if that makes any sense. :|
3803  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Nomura: "New titles take priority over Final Fantasy VII Remake" on: May 19, 2012, 02:49:54 PM
Make a new Front Mission that isnt a FPS

That franchise is over as far as I know. Specially after Front Mission Evolved.

or another quality SRPG like Tactics Ogre.

Tactics Ogre was partially able to become a reality because it had people from the original staff of the Super Famicom version working on it. And without putting that talent with the same team I kinda doubt we will see another SRPG like that for a while. Though, I would like to be wrong.

(i wonder if the recent remake made a profit?)

Concentrate on good gameplay and story and dont spend a fortune on graphics/cut scenes.

I can't help feeling in recent years they've been going for massively bloated (and expensive) games which havent been worth the effort.

"1998. One year ago, Final Fantasy VII singlehandedly transformed video games forever and ushered in the Golden Age of Square. SquareSoft was now officially a Big Deal. A very Big Deal. Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy VI had all been hits, but Final Fantasy VII was a phenomenon. Quite Possibly the Greatest Game Ever Made. Afterwards, Square had just about cemented its reputation as Quite Possibly the Greatest Video Game Designers Ever with a string of successful titles that included Final Fantasy Tactics, Parasite Eve, Einhander, and Bushido Blade. It was like they were incapable of making games people didn't love. I saw people gathered around an Ehrgeiz cabinet at my local arcade, for god's sake. Square was at the top of its game. Its popularity - and profits - had never been higher.

But there was one small issue.

Final Fantasy VIII. There was no avoiding it. It had to happen. Square was now faced with the unenviable task of producing a sequel that could live up to and surpass Quite Possibly the Greatest Game Ever Made."
-- Final Fantasy VIII: A series discovers its crack pipe

You see the damage that one game did to the franchise? Even to this day you see the remains of that with Final Fantasy XIII having references to Final Fantasy VII and the main character shamelessly being a "female Cloud Strife". Is nice to know that (at least how Nomura says) they are putting their efforts in new projects instead of being stuck in their golden age.

We'll see how that goes. *cross fingers*

Dengeki PlayStation Vol.518 cover (bigger version).

Is pretty much the same as the one from last year of Final Fantasy Type-0.

After watching this and that Ideon vid you posted (grusome; the corpse and the man-eating fish and the missle to the head kid were probably the two best).... old anime scare me now.

Have you read about Yoshiyuki Tomino (creator of Gundam, Ideon, etc) in TV Tropes?

"By directing combat and war pieces, I could experience catharsis and successfully avoid committing a murder in real life. In this sense, I'm really grateful for that because I was conscious that I had such homicidal traits, to be honest."
Yoshiyuki Tomino, about his "Kill 'Em All" reputation."

Dude has problems.

Coolest Iron Man outfit ever.  Seriously -- no, it's not cardboard made.

Oh my god...
