3811  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Kara - Quantic Dream's (Heavy Rain) newest tech demo on: March 10, 2012, 12:59:53 PM
I was playing Heavy Rain once and my mom thought I was watching a movie.

Heavy Rain is the only game my wife ever asked me to play so she could see what happens next.

Well, I guess they were right when they said that Heavy Rain would catch the attention of women for it's aesthetics and drama.

The ironic thing with Heavy Rain is that it was released almost at the same time that Deadly Premonition did, and it started quite the discussion of what game was better for one game that promises a rich experience to the other one that looked like a Dreamcast game. In the end, Heavy Rain was just a successful experiment that generated a bunch of conflicted opinions and Deadly Premonition become a cult classic.

Either way, I do wonder if Quantic Dream has the ability to do an entire game as good as that tech demo though.

Believe it or not the first game has it's fans. Fans that were actually kinda annoyed that this new game looked so different and less shitty, you know, the usual stuff.

^The only good series that I know with good endings and that they were an honest good waste of time are Death Note and Monster.

Also I've been wondering lately what's the deal with Gundam Age. There's seems to be quite a controversy with that series for what I notice a couple of months ago, and just today I saw the trailer of the series in YouTube and it doesn't look bad but by reading the comment section of the trailer there were people saying that the series gets good after episode 20 or so.

I haven't followed anime very much since 2008 more or less so I have not much idea how things have changed since Gundam 00.

Gundam Unicorn looks pretty interesting though.

it means nayuta................

Really? Then why did I find this in the esterior.net blog when someone did the same question?

"Nayuta is a Sanskrit word that means 'infinite.' It is also an 'impossibly large number' in Japanese, so holding a very similar meaning there, too… There are a couple others that I can’t look up at the moment, but you get the idea. :)"

I looked at the cover art for ten seconds, them looked at the world ...everything looked grey and bland in comparison.

And then adults wonder why their kids grow up disappointed of the real world.

I completely forgot that Nayuta no Kiseki is for PSP. :(

Also, what does "Nayuta" mean?

The second track is pretty nice.

^I'm slightly interested in PSO2 but I don't even know if I'll buy it or not. Still, good news.

Searching a bit in wikipedia I found the name of the FMA game I played, is called Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel (sounds kinda like the name of a Harry Potter movie).

Is an Action-RPG. Nothing really that will change your life but as a fan of the series I enjoyed the little I played of it, here's a video.

as much as i liked it i can't imagine "death note" as a game.

There is one for the DS (only in Japan as always). I don't how it is though.

were any of the full metal alchemist games any good? i can't imagine it working

I am a big fan of FMA but the only I could play for a while was the very first one on the PS2. I remember it being really fun, but only for fans. I always was curious about the one for the Wii since at the time it looked interesting.

Dunno how it end up being...

I will finally be able to have a copy of the best game of this generation. Feels good man.
3823  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Blades of Time on: March 08, 2012, 11:22:40 PM
I have seen this game since it was announced, saw the news in Siliconera not too long ago. I didn't expect seeing it on sale already.

Anyways. Poor Tak Fuji, the man seems stuck doing games that not much people care about or know that exist. Is nothing new seeing Konami acting like assholes though. Hell! I know about them because of that. :p
3824  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Random Question!? Did you like Final Fantasy 13? on: March 08, 2012, 11:15:46 PM
Very late reply but better late than never right? (:

Im really surprise that a lot of people enjoyed the battle system.. please tell me what was so fun about it? I really want to know because honestly autobattle must be the most stupid thing to ever happen in a RPG.

Oh and now dont tell me that I can play without it, because, well, im aware of that fact. The thing is, the way the battle system is made, if you don't use it, its a mess and annoying to play because everything is too fast.

The battle system in XIII gets rid of making the grinding boring, after hours into the game no one wants to fight the same enemy that you have fought more than 200 times for too long.

They could do the thing of making the monsters leveling up with you but that can give more troubles in the long run. Also this particular version of the ATB in XIII is at it's best in big battles where your enemies have high HP and use buff and debuffs all over the place which make you move and think faster. Lot's of fun with battles like those.

The only big problem with it is that the tutorial to introduce this battle system took waaay too long and when you reached the point to use it for reals many people didn't care for it because the story or characters got tiresome and boring to follow.

After all, everyone that has played XIII has come out hating with passion at least one character.

@Dice: The "weird" thing with Dragon Quarter is that in Japan the game has the roman numeral V, while in the American and European release doesn't. Granted, is nothing new seeing Capcom or any other company changing the name of their game(s) but the way they did it with Dragon Quarter was maybe the way of Capcom saying that this was *not* your typical Breath of Fire to the old fans.

But a reboot? Kinda hard to tell... though, I do understand why you see it as a reboot.
