3931  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: PlayStation Vita Announced (Feb 22, $249/$299 for WiFi/3G+WiFI) + some games on: December 30, 2011, 10:47:14 PM
As fun as I think uncharted is, it's not killer app haps for me.

I too, shall wait.

I haven't heard great things from it either (not that is bad or anything, but it seems that is just more of the same with gimmicky stuff for the platform) and after three Uncharted games made by ND with the probability that they won't make another one ever again I'll just stop there with franchise. I did the same thing with Crash Bandicoot anyway, and hell, I still haven't even bought Uncharted 3.

Right now Gravity Rush is pretty much the only game I really want to get as soon as I get a Vita, which will not be on day 1 or even year 1. Money is a bitch and my PS3 has me by the balls with all the games I want to buy for the damn thing. *shrug*

Etrian Odyssey II Soundtrack? Is not bad.

I used to read and post youtube videos in this thread, then I took an arrow in the knee.

Stop it.

Yeah, I agree. But what can we do other than showing annoyance at how long both games have taken to come out?

^Uhm, it kinda looks like he is inside of a Gundam or something.

This is never going to come out. I actually don't care about it anymore, not one bit.

Though... I'm still more interested in seeing more about Versus XIII, and that might be because they have given more information and trailers to keep people interested in the game after all these years.

Same thing as with Suikoden, I've never touched a Fire Emblem game in my life. Maybe I tried one on a emulator but I doubt it given how much I suck with this genre.

Either way I just wanted to say that I like how the attacks have this "weight" and/or "impact" to them. It really feels that you are making damage to the enemies, and aside from that I dunno what to think... it doesn't look terrible but I do like the art style of the DS game more.

Did you guys saw the last trailer? This game seems that is going to be really dramatic. I don't know what to think of it though, it looks like The 4 Heroes of Light for the DS but prettier.

I miss Nobuo Uematsu a lot.

Yeah, me too. Is he working on something lately? Haven't heard from him in a lot time.

You know what they say about FFXIII. It gets good after the 30 or 40 hours, problem is though that a lot of people finished the game and never saw the good part that some people were talking about.

*shrug*

^I always wonderer why a lot of teachers have this necessity of talking about random stuff with the class. Is like we are some kind of therapy for them to talk about their problems.

There was this one time when I was in High School that I had this really annoying history teacher that out of fucking nowhere starts to talk about death and how "fascinating" is too look people dying for natural causes. You know, when they take their last breath and all that... yeah, he for some reason talked about that for like 10 to 30 minutes I believe and the room was almost full of people of 16 to 18 year olds hearing a guy in his late 20s or so talking about death instead of doing his damn job.

When he finished that no one asked anything, everyone was silent. It was pretty weird because it was like no one was paying attention but everyone knew what he was talking about, and it was horrible.

DDS2: the final dungeon and secret bosses got way too tough and I lost patience for the incessant random battles and grinding.  But damn I love the game.

Ah yes, the final dungeon is pretty hard. I spend hours trying to kill the secret bosses, I think I manage to kill at least two of them and if remember you can also fight against Jack Frost there too.

I never finished though... I spend so much time trying to kill those secret bosses that I got fatigated with the game. Later I read that the ending is pretty sad or something, I suppose everyone dies? I don't know.

Almost the same thing happened with Final Fanatsy X now that I remember. I lost interest and years later reading articles about the franchise I read about the ending, then the Spoony did his "review" and I saw the ending there too.

Oh yeah, I never finished Final Fantasy IX as well for a lot of reasons but mainly was for the fault of piracy (long story). Years later I saw the ending on YouTube because I thought I wasn't gonna be able to buy the game again and this was before PSN was a thing with decent video games on it. I still don't know what the hell happens after disc 2... haven't bought it yet from PSN thanks to the amount of new releases but someday I'll have to buy it.

After all, that was my first RPG anyway, pretty important game for me too.

Wind Waker: The dungeon with one of the co-stars was a pain in the ass, I hit a wall master room, and triforce treasure hunting annoyed me.  I was younger, so I wanna give this a second go.

I have the best memories of playing the shit out of The Wind Waker sick on my bed with a map to find the pieces of the Tri-Force that is in a Spanish Nintendo site full of guides. Heh, good times.

Amazing.

Yeah, I'm playing the first Demon's Souls which I got for Christmas, and it's probably the most fucking overrated game I've ever played.

Is not overrated. Is just, not for everyone. The only way to get to the point in where the game "clicks with you" is just by playing it for some days and understanding how everything works (like in a fighting game to give an example).

Though, learning everything takes more than one playthrough... so yeah, your choice there.

Just be sure to have a lot of free time if you are going to play Demon's Souls for real because once you get into it you will not care about what time is. The game is a real nightmare for people with Gaming OCD too.
