I'm not gonna lie, I'm kinda jealous about that special edition for Europe of The 3rd Birthday. Maybe I should reconsider to import this...

Anyway, I saw the shower scene. Is pretty good! :3 That's all I'm going to say about that (there's still people crying over this though), and Square Enix is using their Square Enix Members thing for something useful with this game, just in Japan for now.

Holy crap. The S-E Members integration for T3B is pretty amazing. I wonder if they'll be doing something similar for the English version. This is something I've only seen western developers do in general.

On the title screen, you can select Extra, and Square Enix Members. From there, you can select your latest save file, and it takes all the data from that save, connects to S-E's server online from your PSP automatically, and then generates a unique Player Code for you. On your JP S-E Members account, you can then go to the special T3B community section, and register your Player Code with your account, and from there the website displays all your tracked stats: How many times you cleared the game, how long you've played the game, total distance traveled in the game, number of game overs, number of Twisted defeated, number of Overdives made, number of times Liberation was used, number of times Crossfire was used.

Based on what you've done in the game so far, it also unlocks stamps on the S-E Member site. Apparently if you get a certain number of stamps, it will unlock certain things in the game itself as well. You can also view the stats of other S-E Member players who have registered, to see how other players are doing. :o

Oh yeah, it seems that the story of T3rdB doesn't make too much sense but the main game is not good but excellent. That's that.

I'm reconsidering getting AC1 on PS3 but I'm afraid it's going to freeze like crazy, even if they released that freeze patch so I'd like imput from guys which have it on that platform.

No, don't do it!

AC1 on the PS3 is the "worse" version of the game, if I were you I would go with the Director's Cut version for PC.
3993  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Movie Trends that NEED to Stop on: December 22, 2010, 05:30:55 AM
The battles with slow-motion that every 10 seconds and for every "cool move" that the hero does. Yes, it looks good at the beginning but not if you use it for all the duration of the scene.

The action packed trailer (usually with the theme from Requiem for a Dream) that has hardly anything to do with the film or is a collection of all the best bits of it leaving the rest somewhat shit in comparison or the trailer that sums up everything the movie has to offer.

This. I hate when the trailers go ape shit on the audiences, specially for action and "comedy" movies.

What's wierd is that there's people who enjoy that.

Hm... anyway, at this point if anyone want to keep playing "Tales of" games they just have to import the bastard. I can see the Tales of Xillia being localized though, it has the potential for getting some decent sales but who knows really.

Here's a demo screenshot comparison of the game, looks good I guess. Maybe I should try the demo later to see this thing in action... but yeah, is kinda annoying seeing so many minimal differences for each system sometimes.

Still, this is better than not getting the game afterall.
3996  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Ys Remakes on PSP on: December 21, 2010, 03:54:26 PM
There's going to be a "Premium Edition" for Chronicles, you just have to wait a little more for more details. The only thing that is sure to come with the Premium Edition is a Musical Selections CD, and Ys I&II Chronicles have the best music in the series so... can't wait for that!

EDIT:

We plan to do what we can. It's already been stated on our Facebook that Chronicles likely will NOT have a full-on LE set... BUT, it WILL have a pre-order bonus of some sort, and the pre-order bonus WILL come in a box that finishes off the spine art for the three games.

As for Sora no Kiseki, we're discussing that now, and we think we've come up with something really awesome. We just need to make sure we have the budget for it.

I totally forgot about this. Either way there's something to look forward to, that's for sure.

More news and details about T3rdB...

No Custom Voices for International 3rd Birthday (from andriasang):

The Japanese version of The 3rd Birthday lets players switch main character Aya Brea's voice to match her current costume. This is something that won't be in the English version of the game, Tetsuya Nomura reveals in a Dengeki interview this week.

Nomura also told the magazine that the game's shower scene will be difficult to unlock. He believes it would have been just as fine if it hadn't been in the game.

Celebrate The 3rd Birthday's Release With this Aya Brea Shower Wallpaper.

People here in Chile have to pay around $70 or even $85 dollars for a game in release date (if my memory serves me right).

So before buying the game, one must read a lot about games in general to know what to buy. Knowing a little English helps too.

4003  Media / The Soundroom / Re: Any really good recent RPG soundtracks worth picking up? on: December 18, 2010, 01:48:09 AM
*insert any Falcom album here* Can't go wrong with Ys OSTs especially. :p

I'll say that anybody that begins to hear Falcom music has to be warned about The Legend of Heroes soundtracks, those albums (in general) are pretty avarage for an JRPG. But some tracks are amazing.

Like this one for example. Of all the games though, this one is my personal favorite.

Iron Maiden: The Final Frontier and Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards by Joe Satriani. I still enjoy this albums, specially the one from Satriani.

...and that's all really.
