4006  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Pokemon Black 2/White 2 Announced on: February 25, 2012, 08:15:35 PM
I was hoping to see Pokémon Grey for 3DS at some point but I guess that's never going to happen. Welp, might have to get Pokémon Black/White later then.

Also these two look like Digimons (and that's quite awesome IMO).

For fucks sake.... I will never buy this, but commend Nintendo on their crafty marketing.

They have Japan and a huge part of the world (literally) by the balls.

^Almost watched all the videos for curiosity. Not bad, but kinda hard for me to tell that if there are funny or not... still, it was entertaining.

I guess? ._.'

"You'll need to equip soap and shampoo, which you gather in battle and during exploration.

In the bath, you'll need to massage the girls with the soap and shampoo. If you bathe the girls good, you'll see some positive effects in battle. Tip: combine various soaps and shampoos for different effects."

Have to admit that at least as a concept, this is a great idea. The game looks that it'll have a ton of grinding though (and it depends on the battle system if that's good or not bad news).

Someone knows if there's a way to get as a ringtone that tune that plays in Serendipity when you get a new Fragment Skill?

Didn't know about this, looks cute.

My first thought: wait, they made a Dark/Demon's Souls version of this?

My thoughts exactly.

Should I be scared?

It can get intense sometimes but nothing to get scared for the little I played of it. The picture that Dice posted... yeah, that's scary. :(

I'm convinced half of what people consider "bad voice acting" is just a bad (ie; unnatural) script.

Is not bad voice acting or that is badly translated, they did a good job. But there is a certain difference in how the overall game feels in the Japanese version that the English one can't seem to get right.

I remember getting the same feeling with Infinite Undiscovery. Maybe is just me though.

After seeing the first part of TLS in Japanese and English I have to that I would really like to play this with Japanese voices and English subtitles.

Though, it seems that they changed some bits of the dialog for localization purposes. Which bothers me a bit but I'm not sure.

^Oh yes, I go to the area in where that the song plays when I'm reading a guide of the game. Easily one of the best tracks. (:

There was a new patch recently, read some things in other places but nothing official yet.

Another thing I love about FFXIII-2, and some wisdom they got from Doctor Who, "don't try to act like you know what you're talking about with time travel paradoxes". In the words of The Doctor, it's all just "Timey-Wimey stuff", similarly, Noel and Serrah basically say, "hell if I understand how all this works, but let's go with it." Fantastic!

Hope you get enough interest after finishing the main portion of the game to do the paradox endings, they are really well put together.

In my opinion anyway.

Edit: This song played in my head when I caught my friend drink my orange juice with their mouth on it.

4019  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Dear Esther on: February 23, 2012, 01:40:40 PM
Found this in the comments section in a playthrough of the game.

The narrator is Esther's husband. He speaks of Esther being killed in a drunk driving accident or a brake system failure. The drawings on the walls are scientific depictions of brake system failures and drunk driving. At the end, he says "come back" because you (Esther), are in a coma and the plug is being pulled, thus the BEEP at the end. Hope this helps with the confusion...

This aside Dear Esther is a fine experience.

I'm kinda bothered though with what people opinions are about this, mainly because there's always that guy that begins the inevitable debate of "See!? Video games are art!" and okay that's great and all but why video games have to be like something else? Is because people can't understand video games and they need other medium as an example to understand how great and profound the experience was?

More importantly, I wonder what was the game that started that whole debate in the first place.
