4006  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Games You'd Like To Give Another Chance And Why? on: December 23, 2011, 04:45:05 AM
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter - I really really liked this game but there is one point in where I just can't advance because the battles gets to difficult and tricky to insanely hard and unfair. It doesn't help either that the game has a pretty huge learning curve, and it also has some kind of time limit... awesome game that I'm pretty sure I'll never be able to finish by myself.

Final Fantasy Tactics - My first and pretty much (for what I remember) last SRPG. I really liked the style of that game since it was similar to the one of FFIX but oh god this game is the real deal, is pretty easy to lose and this being my first SRPG when I was getting into RPGs it made me reject the genre as a whole by how hard the game was.

Mother 3 - Stop playing it because playing an RPG with a keyboard made my hands hurt for a couple of days, the pain went away just like my desire to keep playing the game.

I also tried a few old RPGs on emulator just for curiosity to see if I like anything of the "golden era" of gaming that so many people likes so much. And I cannot play for the life of me more than 30 minutes or so of FFVI, after that I enjoyed the little I played of FFV and Shining Force II but I always end up playing Puyo Puyo 2. :p

Maybe I should check out Phantasy Star II or IV one of these days but I'm pretty sure I'll just end up playing Puyo Puyo 2. Is so addicting.

... and what else? Oh yeah, recently I got frustrated with Vagrant Story but I'm 100% sure that I'll be picking up the game soon and finish it someday. I liked the story too much to left the thing just there for a boss battle that I couldn't win. Other than that I never could finish the majority of Mega Man X games but those aren't RPGs, but that's that.

I've always liked Melodies of Life but is more because of a nostalgic thing more than anything else, but Eyes on Me? that song has always drives me nuts.

...it makes me mad just searching for it on YouTube.

Looking back... I couldn't tell you what the fuck Final Fantasy 8 was about even if I tried.

And it doesn't matter really thanks to this damn song. Seriously, is like the "My Heart Will Go On" of video games.

FFFFUUU-! They sound the same. D:<

JRPGs on computer just seems wrong though.

Not so much with Falcom but I know what you mean.

Wait. People was disappointed with XII? I thought it was well-received by fans. I wasn't much into the series when everyone was hyped with XII and I only played the demo of it that came with DQ8 and it was pretty boring. It looked nice though, heh. ._.'

Finished God Hand after getting pretty frustrated with Vagrant Story and is pretty much exactly like Bayonetta, or maybe I should say that Bayonetta is exactly the same as God Hand since is the older game. And all things considered I had a better time with God Hand.

I love the sense of humor of this game. So random.

Can't blame them. Didn't FFXIII in Japan was sold used cheap on Amazon days or a few weeks after it was released?

The announcement of Gungir seems rather rushed...

http://tinycartridge.com/post/14582125884/the-legend-of-zelda-series-timeline-revealed

"The Legend of Zelda series' timeline revealed in Hyrule Historia (25th anniversary art book), according to reports posted online and mapped here by Kotaku."

I don't even read Kotaku but this was posted on TinyCartridge, and yeah I know timelines are pretty stupid but is more or less like religion, you can either accept it or ignore it since it won't make too much difference in the end. But hey, it make the series more fun in a way.
4016  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Next "Trails" game announced for PSP on: December 21, 2011, 05:53:58 PM
So this is a brand new Trails with new story and characters? Hm, they haven't done that in a while... I mean, I know about the Zero trilogy but that was for the little I know of it an hybrid of sequel/spin-off thing.

And right know I dunno what might be the plans that Xseed has for the series over here. There's like more than 3 games to translate and a versus game of Ys vs. Sora no Kiseki for the PSP that looked nice, a big mess of games that I really have no idea how is gonna be in the future with Falcom putting so many of them so relatively fast.

KH3 is not gonna happen until Versus XIII is done. Or, something like that was said a long time ago.

Now, I'm probably not going to play this game when it first comes out (if I do at all), but one thing I'm certainly not going to do is watch the whole fucking ending before playing it.

Fer fuck's sake.

I did exactly the same thing with XIII, I saw the ending and I didn't really know what happened because of the lack of context and at that moment I wasn't gonna buy the game but after the amount of shit the game received I got curious. I bought it, finished and then kinda regret paying so much money for it.

The ending actually makes a surprising amount of sense given the themes and events of the game.

This. A lot of stuff happens in that ending (I don't believe I've seen an ending this long since maybe Final Fantasy VIII), and is surprisingly good. Though reactions are gonna be mixed when people see it for various reasons.

Code:
Just saw the ending. They kill the moogle, shit is sad bro. ;_;

Thanks for not hiding the spoiler. Seriously, Bravo.

Pretty much North Korea and Somalia are tied for being the worse countries in the world.  NK for being an oppressive dictatorship were even if you're somewhat related to someone who is questioning the government you were taken to a reeducation camp, and there was mass fmaine which Kimmy refused to open the borders.  Somalia on the other hand has had no government since 2004 I think.  Total opposites but both are hell.

I had no idea.

Thanks for answering my question Logick.
